Bickley needs to start showing some real improvement.IMO .I realise he is still young but he has been around speedway since very young age and should really be kicking on with the chances he has had over the last 3 seasons.6 points

I’ve just seen the prices and for just about the first time in my life time following British Speedway, I think it’s decent value. £11.99 per match, 17.99 monthly or £109 for the season. If you are a general speedway fan who watches any match on TV then £109 for over 30 matches represents pretty good value I would say. Likewise the £11.99 for one match isn’t high enough to make people stay home who would normally go but reasonable to expect an away fan to pay it. Decent value all round.6 points

I've been to a darts event and the atmosphere is fantastic. The big plus is the fact that the conditions are always the same and the event won't get cancelled at the last minute...5 points

I think I will wait and subscribe just for October at £17.99 as I'm likely to get 12 of the 30 matches for that price4 points

The problem I have is that, as far as I know, he hasn't slid a bike competitively in 10 or so years. Things have moved on quite a lot set up and track wise in that time. Whereas James was at least riding grasstrack during his speedway layoff, which made the transition relatively easier. I hope Lee can pick up where he left off, but I fear he might find it tougher than James did.3 points

Totally agree. Only hope he hets fully acquainted with the tight track that is Brough Park before he goes flat out round the boards. We have had our fair share of injuries sustained on Press and practice day in the past. If he got injured early days, that would be a calamity.3 points

I think it's the perfect scenario for the initial meeting on a brand new track, then one or two "open" meetings. Build up to league racing in 2023 with your official return!3 points

Disagree! They get far more fans than a speedway meeting! As for the 'alcohol' consumption? It shows British mentality really.... It's clever promotion by the 'Hearns' !3 points

Has Ellis not moved back to Australia and set up a personal training business? That was certainly the direction he took in 2020 and 20213 points

Did Redcar have "Div One Heat Leaders" to pay out of that 300 attendance though? Nowadays it seems every Div 2 team has to have at least one Div 1 top ten rider which can only increase the costs I would think.. Reserves in Div 2 are also no longer "juniors" but more experienced riders (and more expensive too maybe?).. Putting together a Div 2 team to compete nowadays is very much advantageous to those with deeper pockets I would say, hence Glasgow do well, Poole do well as still very much a "Speedway town", and ex top league Leicester, riding back on Saturdays, also seem to put a decent team together.. Redcar have had some innovative promoters post Brian Havelock, which I would suggest has definitely helped them to grow their fan base (and maybe picked up a few disgruntled Newcastle fans?), and are now a definite "Top Five" expectation team in Div 2, given the level of rider they can afford to bring in.. They certainly have gone from being "avoiding the wooden spoon is success" material to one of the more watchable teams in the league..2 points

Quite agree. Getting an important meeting under their belt will give them some faith, and allow them to build on that and continue work on the spectator facilities. Great time to have a meeting IMO.2 points

I am not in favour of seeds. Two semi-finals with top 8 from each going forward. More chance of shocks/upsets. that was the beauty of the world championship when we started with qualifying rounds in April -- some big names fell by the wayside which made those meetings so interesting.2 points

Lots of good things appear to be happening at Birmingham under the new promotion. Hopefully they can put together a competitive team and enjoy a successful season. I’ll be making the trip over when the Diamonds pay a visit2 points

I’m very excited by Complins signing. He was good to watch last time he raced and I like to watch a proper racer2 points

Just a reminder that the format is the same as the GP`s - 2 semi`s and a final and points 20,18,16,14 etc etc1 point

You jest... But actually I bet there would be a massive take up just to watch the play offs only at the end of the season ... Is this part of a well thought out 'strategy' or just something they have not yet twigged ?1 point

Was at last football match in January and back of stand and turnstiles still to be fixed then The disabled shelter has disappeared too and looked like bit of juniors pits roof was damaged Time yet though Smashing looking new wooden fence though has been put up between ducket and the Tweedmouth ground over the back looks good1 point

I think the pricing structure is spot on.... My only concern is around how much Speedway is currently available to watch and whether that will impact it... I can watch the top leagues in the UK Monday, Sweden Tuesday, Denmark Wednesday, Poland Friday and Sunday, and GP/SEC on a Saturday... As well as 2nd and 3rd Div in Poland Saturday and Sunday.. That is a lot of Speedway... Hope it works out... Another spin off which may be worth pursuing is similar to the way some Sunday League Football teams are making big money out of doing their own highlight streams post match, on YouTube, with plenty of background interviews with the players, making many of them very well known, and making them "personalities" locally who are subsequently being recognised within those local communities.. Local communities who recognise the teams and players, go to watch the matches, but also benefit from the raised profiles of the teams through charity contributions raised by the clubs.. A couple of thousand or so "subscribers" to a clubs YouTube channel would certainly be a plus...1 point

Date has been changed to Friday 25th March at 1700 Polish time, and the first four riders announced are: Patryk Dudek, Bartosz Zmarzlik, Dominik Kubera and Szymon Woźniak.1 point

That’s my point ! They had poor teams but stuck to their business plan and survived and new people came in and lifted the place by providing a better team and more entertainment. Have Birmingham seriously looked at the crowd level and budgeted accordingly? Newcastle certainly seemed to have . Both are now facing big rent increases and have weak sides but Brum are hoping for big crowds and that is just not going to happen. If Brum now sign a big earner, or two, how is that going to end ? If they don’t have the funds to sign a big hitting number 1, they should say so and then ask the public to rally round and help them survive at a financially manageable level on the crowds they can attract. Live within your means. This year is going to be tough for everyone as nothing is getting cheaper.1 point

And being a youth event may bring in plenty of young kids to watch.... Which can only be good for the track to bulld on going forwards if it happens..1 point

If that`s decent value - wonder what you think Fanseat streaming represents ? All Swedish and Danish top flight league matches plus French league- a total of over 140 matches available live and on demand for around £ 100( 9 months- price not announced yet to include Denmark) I know what i`m going to pay for1 point

Tbh it's as competitive a British U21 I've seen for a long time. No bewley or Lambert who are a bit ahead of the others and it's quite a deep field. Palin should be improving on away tracks and kid I was really impressed with was Jordan Jenkins. All could be in podium hunt1 point

Who says that’s the total target audience ? When ‘ my team ‘ are featured away from home and I’m not able to attend I’ll be tuning in to watch and so will many , many of the clubs fans who can’t/ won’t travel to the likes of Poole or Plymouth mid week. It’s not all aimed at non attenders who don’t have a home track. Only time will tell how it affects every club but Edinburgh and Redcar think it worked for them last season.1 point

The issue could be that alongside a largely unknown quantity at reserve was going ro be James Wright who would be one of the leagues strongest reserves and would have been available to cover rides for any of the 1-5 who are struggling (specifically Complin). Now its an unknown and a returning unknown at reserve which further weakens the makeup of the side.1 point

There might be a minimum distance from the track to the IP address, so those 'near' (whatever distance they want) to the home track can't access the stream?1 point

I'd much rather have Gappmaier than Proctor and according to this forum, so would most Berwick posters.... Woeful may be harsh, but I use the term woeful, not to describe the rider, but to describe the signing based on what Berwick had to play with1 point

Winning in Poland means “your”Team won the League and the Prestige means something to riders and Sponsers.Over here “your “ Club won the League using every other Clubs riders during the season. Not a lot of Credibility in that IMO.1 point

If I was a promoter, I wouldn't let anyone stream my meetings unless they paid. That would go for video stream or audio stream. You can't give it away.1 point

There is no chance of Swindon returning to The Abbey after what will be 3 years of no action. Roscoe will be team manager at Oxford in 2022. Sad, sad state0 points
