Never seen the word 'IF' used so much to describe a speedway rider ! He's a woeful signing....think I'd have saved 'Harris' as the last reveal !3 points

Totally agree with that comment, Proctor has been going downhill for a couple of years now. I can only assume they had someone else in mind but got turned down.3 points
-
Woeful? He'd be exactly the kind of rider brum should have signed up for number 4 berth based on who is available! Experienced and knowledge of all tracks and more than capable of adding a point or point and a half on his 5.42 starting average Who else do you guys have in the pipeline now then? Gappmeier, Bates and Sedgman? At a push adam ellis? Im lost to see who LR brings in, especially at no1 that can make you turn around and call proctor a woeful signing. As recently as 2019 he averaged 7.27 for Leicester. He is a steal on that basis2 points

Redcar,Poole.Leicester,Oxford,Glasgow&Plymouth are my top6(not in order) for play offs.Newcastle& Birmingham to fight for Wooden spoon.2 points

Proctor is very much a confidence rider, with the right management and people around he'll score points2 points

IMO after a very good start to team building a very poor ending we will see, but glad to be proved wrong.2 points

Over 1.8 under the limit… Abysmal last signing, Proctor couldn’t score a point last season, and then was just as bad after he quit and restarted2 points

Great to see work on the Track has started in earnest now with all the shale being removed to the base before its built back up with new material and bladed. Great work by the Promotion. Thank You2 points

I wish the people involved with the work to return speedway all the best. It must be hard to stay positive when it appears the odds are stacked against you. However, as it has been said, Oxford's revival is a beacon pf optimism. I have lost the two tracks I supported - Coventry and Reading - an I feel fortunate that having moved into the area I will be able to see speedway again on a regular basis. For that I have to thank those whose hard work and persistence hard got Oxford back when it looked t as if they were lost for ever. I am still hoping that speedway will return to Coventry, though I think at Reading i it s very unlikely. Those who denigrate the efforts of the ones who work hard to keep speedway going are the sad ones.2 points

Thats fair, for me i feel like Fricke has hit a ceiling whereas Holder has a bit more but i think its a close one1 point

It's hardly disregarding the other 6. But yes, when you essentially sign a second string/reserve in space of what could have been a genuine heatleadler then it will have a knock on effect to the rest of 6 and creates more pressure and expectation to perform.1 point

an assessment of my team would be,three heat leaders excellent though theyre not going to score 12pts each every meeting as some think, cooks at second string will do the job at home but will ride some stinkers away, reserves are weak, drew were being told is on a "bargain" average but it is a true average over quite a few meetings and young nathans primary job will be to beat his opposite number in heat2,will do brilliant to get his average over 3, but will get plenty of support from fans.which will mean an unbeaten league campaign at wimborne rd plus 3 maybe 4 away wins which should be enough for top two !!! jmo1 point

So because we’ve signed “1 weak rider” in Proctor, it’s immediately disregarding the other 6 we have. Half a point from Leon on his average, a point plus from Jye (which is very do-able) and that’s almost the 2 already! Bomber doesn’t really have bad meetings at Berwick so could add a little also! The promotion have taken a gamble and given us a new look team… the large majority had been crying out for it! I’m sure they’ll change if needs must but they’ll also give time too!1 point

Think this season will end up being a "what could've been" for Berwick. If they'd just nailed that last signing it could've ended up being the best Bandits team in years and for me genuine title contenders. Proctor screams as a desperation signing to me and does show the lack of planning to go a near 2 points under the limit. Can only hope if its not working out with the initial side the promotion won't be shy to make a change.1 point

First decent post on here for a while. People underwhelmed . If the team gel and ty rides to a seven or so average they will take some beating at home and may well have enough to get points away which was always the downfall. Went close a few times last year up until heat 13 so hopefully get some decent away performances1 point

What I'd add as well is that ulle was written off when signed for us, was just about having season of his life in both leagues when got injured1 point

Think bandits still be play off contenders, couple of improvers could make up for any potential deficiency from proctor. Could go unbeaten at home, don't fancy the stripes chances there anyway1 point

Underwhelming signing to finish the team off, the only positive is that it keeps Jye Etheridge in the reserve position, but I fear Proctor will be there soon enough.1 point

If the right Ty turns up it could be a game changer. Close friends with the Bickleys so could help him. If there’s changes with averages mid season there’s Jye and theo so not just depending on the big hitters. Like I’ve said before they could upset the apple cart this year. Surprise package. Roll on the start of the season1 point

Something in me pinged when weeks and weeks ago (can’t remember when in all honesty) but I’d seen Proctor had been at Duns! People should underestimate this team at their peril.. Proctor may be seen as the “weak link” but one weak rider does not make a bad team!1 point

40-38, can you give JJ a pat on the back and say well done for trying to help a youngster get started in the sport...then we can move on to all things B'ham in this thread? JJ stop arguing...stop moaning....nobody gives two shinny sh#tes!1 point

Rather underwhelming on the face of it but this could be the move he needs to get back to something like the form he showed pre pandemic. If it's the Lynn/Leicester form of last year he won't be there long though. Hopefully for him and Berwick it works out.1 point

Basically it's a venture by a local businessman and passionate Speedway fan Andrew Bain. He has ran the Northside training track site since 2017, from which he was running Amateur meetings and Training days on. Since the demise of the Comets in 2018, there is an obvious gap in the market for Speedway in Workington. So plans to expand the track and site were drawn up with the support of the local council and it's grown from there really with Steve Lawson since getting involved to design and build the new track over the current training track site. When I spoke to Andy plans are in place to run Open meetings this summer with the backing from Rob Godfrey and the BSPL, with certain local riders earmarked to ride. Other plans for the site include riders being able to book the track for practice days, with campsite type facilites including a workshop to prepare and strip bikes, and also hot wash facilites to wash bikes on site.1 point

can't find the form to hand now but i think your user name is pretty accurate. The form clearly stated that it was just "fun shares" and effectively just a way of raising funds for the club, the "shareholders" were never entitled to any voting rights, details of accounts, to have the shares brought back or dividends paid out. Put simply its a nice way for people to offer a little sponsorship into the club, get their name in the program and receive a certificate for their contribution. On a personal note i think the £100 minimum was a bit steep and stopped any further interest but for several who want to do their bit its a nice enough idea (providing the money gets spent correctly etc). Anyone who thought that for £100 they would be entitled to see full company accounts, have a say on how the club is run and potentially receive dividends should really be supervised when using computers and mobile devices and have the child locks firmly turned on.1 point
