I don't know why the chap had a go at you, seemingly for no apparent reason. Personally I find your posts informative and helpful. You manage to provide factual information without any of the tedious "I know more than you and I'm not telling you everything" attitude which seems oddly prevalent within Speedway circles. What I want from a sporting website is simple: Up to date fixtures, results and statistical stuff. As long as the new website can provide that, I'm happy4 points

Could be another few weeks. ..there's alot of stuff happening behind the scenes in what could be a massive boost for British speedway. And in what could see an influx of riders returning to British shores. All because of Mark lemon and Adrian Smith.4 points

Here's the thing about reporting. It was a non news story but the idea is engagement about King's Lynn Speedway. Guess what, you're talking about King's Lynn Speedway in the off-season. Job done3 points

It's good to see from the pictures that the new Promotion want to get the track right from the start. Birmingham can be a good racers track when preparation is good.3 points

Belle Vue are just refusing to sign them as they want the rules changed just to suit them. Jake Allen even mentioned in the Speedway Star a few weeks back about being let down.2 points

BSPA shouldn't change the rules to suit Belle Vue as the league will either end up financially collapsing due to certain clubs signing riders they cant really afford or it's going to be very one sided where a couple of teams sign the best while the rest are left with nothing. Lose Lose situation imo. Plenty of riders available for Belle Vue to build a 1-7 so they've got no excuse not to build one within the current set of rules. Belle Vue should be chucked out of the league if they insist on getting the rules changed all because they don't want to sign a couple of 5.00 riders who are available to them. Jake Allen, Kye Thomson, Jye Etheridge, Bradley Wilson-Dean etc.2 points

I think Poole as usual will be there at the end, personally can't believe Glasgow won't finish above Plymouth and Oxford, but that's the joy of our sport, different veiws.2 points

Seeing as it doesn't look like he's going to answer your question (there's a surprise), I will answer it. It's quite simple really, neither the current nor previous Promotions have asked me to post anything on here. All posts are on my own initiative because I want as many to see whatever I'm posting as possible, as I want the club to be a success, no matter who is at the helm. Not all are on Facebook, so, if it's on FB and not on the website, I will put it on here (sometimes it's on FB, then they put it on the website a short while later, but I've already put it on here!). Hope that clears that up!2 points

Apart from that I'm rather pleased with the new look. Very professional look, but for it to be believable it needs updating regularly when things happen, and not done en bloc occassionally.2 points

What a commentary on the state of British Speedway...the recycle bin for the rest of the world's rubbish.1 point

That's why Berwick ran a meeting with two six man teams last year (to give them practice this year). The rider takes the points left so being second in the averages means everyone will be eligible to take a ride. This method was shown to work last year by Peterborough so Berwick are trying the same this year.1 point

Greg Hancock does/did one. I've listened to a couple with Erik Gundersen and Per Jonsson and they were pretty good. Reel451 point

He'll be starting one of those threads: "Does anyone remember Doris Sidebottom, the New Cross Start Tart of 1946?" Before returning an hour later to provide all the juicy details.1 point

Well actually I like the way they have changed the website and it’s certainly not crap1 point

But you said "It would appear that the promotion use you as a mouthpiece," which is not the case.1 point

Alsvenskan is Wednesday, and pretty well all the Swedes bar Freddie double down. Also note that not a single Swede rode in the UK last year, or as presently stands this season too. So unless Birmingham can offer a more attractive deal than other clubs (or re-instate airline services that have been shelved?) I doubt Swedes will prove to be the answer.1 point

Pretty sure Marcin was only given authority to ride in championship by the authorities because his season was effectively over as didn't make the play offs. From what I've been told they're reluctant to allow riders to go to the championship1 point

Bullets' fixture list offers three home stand-alone NDL matches, plus four double-header nights featuring both Bandits and Bullets. The stand-alone nights in April and May will fill blank dates in the CL calendar and provide regular speedway this season, hopefully allowing a continuity of Saturdays that hasn't been enjoyed at Berwick for quite a number of years. This alone makes last year's creation of the Bullets a worthwhile decision -- all the refreshing entertainment they provided in the process was a terrific bonus!1 point

Yes, at least two international speedway meetings were held at Santarem in Portugal. The first was a European Club Team Cup round in 1999, and the second a world under 21 qualifying round, featuring a couple of British riders, Danny Bird and Grant MacDonald, as well as a couple of Aussies, Kevin Doolan and Travis McGowan, and Canada's Chris Slabon. There were no Portugese riders though. Here is a link to the German Speedway Forum were You can find a scan of the program cover for this meeting https://www.speedway-forum.de/gallery/index.php?image/3495-world-junior-speedway-championship-qr-14-05-2000-santarém-portugal-official-prog/ The current FIM president Jorge Viegas had something to do with the introduction of speedway to his home country. You can find the story (in Polish language) with a couple of pictures of the venue at the speedwaynews.pl website https://www.speedwaynews.pl/aktualnosci/item/68342-z-a-marle-tory-15-miedzynarodowy-speedway-na-arenie-do-corridy1 point
