It shouldn't be a case of BV asking The BSPL should already have made a list of riders and possible reassessment That way it doesn't change depending on who is asking......3 points

The trouble with going away from the league sections is that I suspect fewer people read them. The racing on the island is National League standard, so leaving this thread where it is seems about right unless our mods want to move it.2 points

Being a railway enthusiast as well as a speedway fan I was aware of the need to change Metro trains but thank you both for your replies. In fact I will only need to change Metro trains on the way home as I intend to arrive early and have time to ride the whole loop via Whitley Bay. From what Dave says I assume a team who have a track with tight bends at their home track would be the ones to expect to provide a close meeting. I let you know what my plans are once I know what they are!2 points

All this is getting boring now, any chance you are a Coventry fan? Don't think any one wins it goes on & on for ever. Time to call a end to all this crap.2 points

All good thanks, just got out of habit of posting on here, in fact I hardly checked things out on here for a while, close season, loss of interest etc. But now the season is getting closer I`m looking forward to getting back to track side for what could be a half decent season given how the Berwick team is shaping up, one signing to go of course.2 points

Vast improvement? Whilst most of the content is unchanged the visuals are a great improvement. If I was a layman looking for fixtures to attend the new site seems that much more vibrant. Hopefully they'll keep refreshing it with the latest action.1 point

I'm sure Speedway will always bounce back. It's a bit like a petulant troll having a strop, hiding all its posts, and quitting forever... only to reappear a week later.1 point

Why is it a wind up, its a forum for people to discuss all things speedway, and Tai was talking to Belle Vue, the deal didn't happen.1 point

The only thing i can find is that he is classified as an "A" rider for 2022.1 point

As I’ve said before I’d laugh if it wasn’t and he was left with nothing.cant wait if it is him as at our first home meeting of the season against Poole I’d imagine you would be able to hear the boos back at Wimborne road they will be that loud.1 point

They were widely called apprenticeships but they were not apprenticeships in the official use of the word. You won't find a speedway apprenticeship on the government website, for example. They were really diplomas in speedway business skills. Yes, they learned a bit on track but the whole purpose was to help the youngsters with running their own business - not how to ride a speedway bike fast.1 point

If he's gonna do the loop and go via the coast, he might aswell get off at Walkergate and walk up the road.1 point

This is an interesting topic. It is a shame that the F.I.M. has done next to nothing to help the sport to grow again in all those minor speedway nations throughout the years the F.I.M. cashed in millions of Dollars from BSI/IMG for the SGP rights. Now they get even more money from DISCOVERY/EUROSPORT, but I don't think any of that money will go fund help maintain and develope the sport internationally. There are so many countries where speedway racing is on the brink of extinction. In the past ten years the sport has died out in Canada, South Africa, Bulgaria, and will soon be gone in Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, Romania, Holland, Belgium, and even Italy. I wonder what this SGP4 concept of the Discovery Corporation is all about? Does anybody know?1 point

Thanks for the information. I try to avoid buses whenever possible but still useful information.1 point

Chillingham Road Metro station is nearer than Byker and you don't have to walk up Byker Hill to get to the top of the Fosse-Way, you can pick up the No.1 Coaster to Whitley Bay from the Central Station which goes down the Fosse way but watch out there is also a No.1 Stagecoach bus but that goes no where near Brough Park.1 point

Took far too long to sort out in the first place, no doubt provided some home advantage which meant the holes and bumps stayed. I can remember the track being a mess in one of Lynn's first seasons back in the top flight (2011 or 12?) when we rode there on telly.1 point

What a complete and utter If you bother to look back over the last few pages I think you'll find you're completely wrong as usual. I really don't know why you're on this thread at all. You have no interest in Poole speedway and have shown yourself to be totally clueless about all things speedway All you do is try to antagonise and post tripe to get a rise. Why don't you just jog on back to your own teams thread...that's if you have one....and let those of us that actually support the Mighty Poole Pirates discuss things in an adult manner?1 point

Poole might be announcing their final one on this coming Monday according at a poster on here, so prob down to you and Birmingham!1 point

Don't forget you have to switch at Monument from the Central Station to get to Byker, which adds to the journey.1 point

Hi Chris and pleased you fancy a trip to God's country. The Byker Metro station is just less than a mile away, and a good direct road to the track. Whilst you can never be sure, it's probably about a 2 to 2.5 hours show, plus the walk back to the Metro station, and then the time for the Metro to get to the Central Station which has its own Metro station. Pick a good meeting when the opponents can be expected to attack the track. It's got tight bends and long straights but you still get some decent passing and racing. Dave1 point

Correct, the last time he would have seen poole would be on tv in our premiership days, when the track did have a lot of problems, but not anymore, best its been for years1 point

Remarkably, the Stars were the only Prem team in 2021 NOT to concede a heat advantage in Heat 15! They scored 2x 5-1, 3x 4-2 and 5x 3-3 results for an overall aggregate of 37-23 - the second best heat 15 record in the Prem (Sheffield 38-22, who scored 5x 5-1, but they conceded a 2-4 and a 1-5). Heat 13 was also positive for KL: 2x 5-1, 5x 3-3 and 3x 2-4 for a 31-29 overall score. It seems that getting off to poor starts was the Stars' big problem at home.1 point

In reality no but equally theres not really any money to be made at NDL level. Grasstrack doesn't quite demand the level of kit to be upgraded as regularly and engines are not quite so one track focussed. Plus as covered no time off in the week needed for rider plus drivers/mechanics. Theres also the knowledge that he is in the top 16-20 grasstrack riders in the UK whereas he he much lower than that in Speedway terms.1 point

Has work started yet on sorting out the track? Seen no photos. Thought that was going be getting sorted straight away?1 point

That's quite a feat, embarrassing yourself hugely whilst attempting to say the same about another poster You have proven yourself to be clueless and completely unknowledgeable about Poole and speedway in general Why keep making yourself look like the village ? Because you're a bedroom keyboard warrior with nothing else to do, that's why1 point

Have Edinburgh forgotten that they have an NDL team? Danny Phillips, Tom Woolley and George Rothery haven't been signed anywhere else, so it seems a near certainly that they're back. Would expect the Millars back too, so why can't they name those 5? They need a heat leader, and Willie Lawson would fit the bill. Alternatively maybe Benji Compton? Either of those would leave room for a sub 5.00-pointer like Josh Embleton. What's taking so long?1 point
