  1. Cant agree. Nicola Sturgeon has worked tirelessly for the past two years, keeping the nation's head above water in the face of vindictive and cynical actions by the lying and cheating Westminster posh,-boys. IMO.

  2. Are you serious?? They're birds of a feather. Name me one thing Sturgeon and her hubby did differently from the clowns down south (apart from locking Scotland down even harder than England - with no discernible results - and smashing the economy even more). And 'posh boys'? Lol. You think the likes of Nicola Sturgeon and Patrick Harvey were born in the ghetto? Don't be fooled by the "my mother was a seamstress" rhetoric from the likes of Labour and the SNP. They genuinely hate the working class.

  3. Expect that cynical extra £9 billion from Westminster may have helped I imagine. Like I say not a fan of either, but Sturgeon is cynical as well, once the pandemic is over, she'll be banging on about independence again, as I say all a bad bunch.

  4. Gating tuition from Chris Harris? Surely not

  5. Always said she would follow the science so why 500 fans in a 52000 seater stadium she is not only cynical but dangerous with it. Not wanting to let go off her control on what people can’t do is her driving force.

  6. From Daily Mail; 'The Oxford Stadium squatted in the gloom on its site near the ring-road, dilapidated and half-forgotten amid the weeds of disuse and disinterest. I tried to visit it a couple of times out of curiosity but the path was always blocked by gates and padlocks. Most people gave up on it ever staging sport again but next year, for the first time since it closed in 2007, it is due to host Speedway once more as the home of the reformed Oxford Cheetahs. So often, we hear stories of sport shrinking and stadiums being allowed to fall into disrepair but this, tentatively, at least, feels like a sporting resurrection, new shoots appearing in a sport that has a dedicated, enthusiastic band of followers. I have never been to watch Speedway but I’m looking forward to putting that right.'

  7. If the Thompsons need to improve their gating skills as Mr Dickson has said, why not hire someone highly experienced and still currently riding such as Chris Harris to give them regular tuition during the winter. I think he lives near to Leicester so that would be an ideal arrangement

  10. What has the world done to deserve such s**t leaders, in this country with Sturgeon and Johnson, USA's choice of Trump or Biden, the short Frenchman plus many others. Ultimately 'we' vote them in, but it's either not vote or a choice of useless candidates. I know it's almost a no win situation at the moment, but we all deserve better.

  11. I am sure it’s no coincidence that both teams have recently lost riders that they were banking on for 2022

  12. Richie worrall situation plus kemp and Edwards going elsewhere caused the issues I believe. Had to start team building again with no equivalent rider especially for Richie available. The stadium supposedly being bought by a monarchs fan so don't foresee any issues

  13. Because titles aren’t won on paper and Redcar fans don’t get carried away on forums , they are just happy to have a good team, a great track and an improving set up. A strong team, same as last season , certain to be in the play offs but you need luck , no injuries and form at the right time to win titles. Good to see them giving two young British lads the reserve spots.

  14. The title of this topic is NOT an opinion -it is an accusation that Birmingham Speedway are using deceitful methods to extract money from supporters. At best it is a slight on a group of people who have worked hard to keep the club afloat and at worst it is a slanderous comment. Everyone who has agreed to contribute to Birmingham's scheme, be it called a shareholding, a stakeholding or whatever, is well aware of the terms of acceptance - as indeed have been the people (including myself) who have contributed to Cradley Heath's admirable Supporters' Trust ( even if technically it perhaps shouldn't be thus described). Freedom of expression and personal opinions are one thing, but to be deliberately and sneeringly offensive is not acceptable - and the title of this topic is just that - and should be removed.

  16. Yes the land behind the Marsham Arms at Hevingham where Cyril Crane staged an unlicensed meeting with junior riders around Xmas time in 1976 and had plans to introduce 2 Division racing is still not developed. What stopped it was the poor entrance to the venue on a main road in front of a virtual blind bend where vehicles are going fast onto where vehicles would turn into the venue and speedway and Council authorities being unimpressed by Cyrils total disregard to rules. Shame cause at the time it would have worked as a 1970's National League venue with Norwich being a hotbed of speedway interest and Cyrils competence/experience in building and running speedway tracks. The venue had the potential to be improved/expanded and progress to the British League with Norwich's and Norfolks large catchment area. It could still be turned into a speedway venue but that would take bravery when taking into account speedways decline/ageing fanbase, big finances and a thick skin to battle those already involved in the sport, namely current tracks nearest to Norwich who'd see speedway returning to Norwich as a major threat to their crowd levels. - Personally I don't think that many fans from the Norwich and East Norfolk area go to speedway at King's Lynn, Ipswich or Mildenhall so a new Norwich speedway set up wouldn't have a negative effect on their attendance levels. The best place for speedway to return to Norwich would be at the Norfolk Showground on the outskirts of the City but as another poster points out, after the last attempts there nearly a decade ago Showground owners, the Norfolk Agricultural Society would need assurances any prospective promotors would actually be able to afford to do it! I live in hope I'll see speedway again in my home City but I'm getting on so I won't be able to live in hope for too much longer!!!

  27. Think you got that wrong , Anders wiped Stoney out at Sheffield and Stoney chased him with a shovel. i remember the 1999 season anders and frank smart ended up 3&4 for newport and Anders out gated Stoney. Stoney was all over him like a rash but the minute hed of made a move, Smartey would of been through. Superb action. Always loved Anders as a Wasp fan but Stoney was awesome entertainment. i will add , in my long time as a Wasp fan, Stoney was prob the opponent i always looked forward to riding at newport as far as opponents go. Superb style , awesome rider, panto villain and a top bloke. Awesome stuff

  34. I don't think anywhere has more restrictions than Scotland. Sturgeon is round the bend (I'm no fan of Boris or Drippy D for that matter) and i'm fully expecting this latest three week masterplan of hers to turn into another 6 month cock-up same as last year and nobody in Scotland will be able to get into the stadiums until the season is half over.
