Cant be a rider with a higher average than Jordan Palin 5.69 ? he is going to partner Ryan at reserve and from "abroad" ? So Kasper Andersen on 5.87 much as I rate him would not seem to fit ? I dont think many if any visiting reserves did better than Zaine Kennedy did for Leicester. Hes a proper force around Scunny so my money is on him. Can up his 5.00 average for sure and would be a great signing.3 points

When the BSPA can’t even get a main league sponsor for a sport that has tv coverage you know you’re in trouble. you only have to look on here whenever trying to modernise speedway comes up, within a few pages it reverts to “eeeeh in 1958 we had Jap’s, black leathers and cinders…..and the fish & chips were served in real newspaper. When Adam first started (10 years ago next season ..jeeez) I remember suggesting on a thread, that sticking a questionaire Into a program and having a drop box at the exit is a good way of getting customer opinion. Plus if you added a draw for a free entry if they include an email address you automatically have a database that you can hit with offers / promotions etc. Almost everyone has access to a printer, image being able to print off a poster advertising the next home match ? It could be put up in shops, cars etc. Lots of free publicity at zero cost to the club. If you have 500 people on your mailing list and even a percentage of them print it off… result. That’s micro managing the problem, it needs leadership. The club’s websites all look the same and press releases seem to be written by a 1950’s newsreader. Ultimately, the lead needs to come from the top. Unfortunately the top ain’t listening.3 points

It's common knowledge most of these teams, riders talk, mechanics talk, club staff talk. Waiting to drip feed to the local press is wrong in 20213 points

I don't honestly believe George Congrieve will make it in the British Championship league. The competition in NZ is not great once you get beyond BWD. Andrew Aldridge who tried NL then went home Bradley Andrews the same result Ryan Terry Daley another of the same standard. I hope he makes it but I have serious doubts3 points

The thing is I know what happened but I,m not going to disclose it on a public forum but I can deny any lies, rumours or gossip with complete confidence, whether anyone believes me is their perogative but having spoke to a few people in the last hour or so I think Plymouth will be a stronger team as a result of Hans signing this is no disrespect to Richard as he's a good rider aswell hopefully he has a poor season if he signs for Poole where I think he's heading.2 points

Why? Poole have zero need to do it? I could understand it if Stevie or Danny said they didn't want to come back. But to my knowledge they both said they want to. There is a saying on this forum 'when in doubt, blame Poole..' Guess this is what is happening cos people seem to be taking wild guesses!2 points

A slang term in some parts to describe a long haired unkempt rocker type. A term some of us would have seen as a badge of honour 40 years ago2 points

Lynn did this the other year and it just seemed to wind people up the longer it went on. Understand the concept but not sure it's the best policy nowadays.2 points

Think many Fans now buy a season ticket just to aid the Club financially.I certainly know a few who do.2 points

Palin, Brennan, Flint a lot better all round than Dan, at the moment, is the answer really2 points

Season tickets don’t suit everyone. Not everyone can afford them. But they do work for many fans. At the start of last season mine was worth it’s weight in gold as I had guaranteed entry during the restricted months. They also provide a good source of pre-season income for clubs who have significant expenditure to cover before the first paying customer comes through the turnstiles.2 points

One of the criticisms from many fans is that teams don’t stay loyal to riders and riders don’t stay loyal to teams. In my view, both the team and the fans should stay loyal to both Dan and Joe, two lads who are still only 17 and have ridden all of their professional careers with Leicester. They have worked their way up from 125/150cc bikes through second halfs, British Youth Championships, NDL and CL but there’s lots more to come, I’m sure. Dan has an average of just over 5 after the reduction, which I reckon he’ll easily improve on in 2022. The way teams win leagues is by having riders improve on their start average. With a potential top two of Nick Morris and Richie Worrall, neither of whom are likely to increase their averages substantially, Leicester need riders lower down who have potential, and that surely has to include Dan and Joe. And, let’s face it, if Leicester let either or both go, then they’ll quickly get team places but I’m not sure where Leicester would find adequate replacements.2 points

Promoter seem to like keeping fans waiting for announcement of riders signings. If we are to wait for the next STAAR meeting then it would be the middle of December when the first one is announced. They also seem to like to drip feed signings. Personally I would rather they announced the riders as soon as possible, rather then second guessing or speculating.2 points

When I started supporting West Ham in 1964 I had no inkling the Hammers would be no more just a few years later. Speedway seemed to be on a secure footing and we expected the tracks we visited would always be there. Contrast that with the situation now. Today’s fans must start every season wondering whether their team would be in action the following season. Very sad and also very frustrating. I don’t really have the means to research this, but I would probably be staggered to know how many teams and tracks followed West Ham in to the history books.2 points

Yep, common knowledge and yet you can’t name the team….I’m guessing this is because you don’t actually know it. However I’m intrigued as why a fan of another team feels the need to venture into the Sheffield thread and criticise the way the club makes its team announcement for 2022. Have you nothing better or constructive to do with your life?1 point

Ha, I was half joking, but they are announcing a signing (I assume that's what they mean by 'news') and he is going to be there! You never know Could be Richard Lawson? At least if it is I can chill a little bit!1 point

Like I said good luck in your efforts to reopen Rye House speedway, your doing what the BSPL should have done a couple of years ago! I think anyone with any sense will fully endorse the above statement. But also like I said you need to lay of all the paranoid defensive ramblings cause this is what causes your issues with many. One thing I've learnt in my long years is that whatever you do someone won't like what you do and will criticise. Keyboard warriors should be ignored and you should let actions and fact do your talking - Again like I said if your successful in getting speedway back to Rye House you won't need to say anything to anyone cause the facts will be there for all to see!1 point

I tend to believe that many of the voices and opinions expressed on this forum are not representative of the majority and certainly not of the average speedway supporter. A few negative comments on a forum should not influence your decisions in relation to Rye House. I wish you good luck and hope you can see sense to ignore any negativity on here. All the best, Andy.1 point

Glasgow tweeting they might have something to share at their event which JC is in attendance. They are signing him aren't they? Unless there is another reason he is there?1 point

You don’t think the local press already knows? Maybe, just maybe, clubs want to control how their signings for the next season are made known beyond the bounds of this forum and those few people in the know? Say, for example, a big reveal - such as Sheffield have announced this morning? Just be patient, just because some people know already doesn’t mean you’ll see them ride any earlier than those that don’t know yet.1 point

I know, all those promising youngsters developed by Eastie over the last few seasons lost now due to what seems one promoter, I'm I bitter?1 point

I've included Dan Thompson in my team as well as his brother as I feel they would've been mentioned in the press release with Douglas, Andersen and Zaine if they weren't returning. I do agree with the majority though that Dan would be a bad signing on his average.1 point

Wouldn't Eastbourne's assets of been seized by the BSPL to cover any debts , whereas Somerset had no debts when they stopped running and there assets would still be under the control of the company and are free to be sold off by the company owners1 point

Good luck to those involved in trying to resurrect Rye House speedway, if ran properly it has been proven in the past to be more than viable. I suggest that maybe if the stifling set racenights hadn't been enforced then possibly Rye House wouldn't have closed a few years back cause Saturday nights in the top flight were well supported? But Rob you've fallen into your mate Steve Ribbons trap of getting involved in petty arguments on forums which can make you look amateurish, looking for notoriety and rub people up the wrong way. I think you and Steve mean well and your doing what the BSPL should have done a couple of years back with Rye House with the generous planning on offer and just basically keeping a track going but I think it'd be wise to keep your distance from online forums.1 point

Okay... I for one love a multi-cultural society; I welcome diversity. However, while there is a constant push for diversity these days, it shouldn't be expected, and it certainly shouldn't be forced. There are just some things that attract certain races/nationalities/cultures/genders, and some that don't. We have to accept that.1 point
