So you are saying Wolves are run on a business like basis, but are blaming the Wolves management for the demise of British Speedway because other tracks aren't run as a business? It seems to me that you do not have a clue what your own point is. By the way I think all of our riders last year were UK based i.e. no Swedes etc.4 points

Poole don't pay over the odds, but they pay, and that makes a massive difference these days3 points

Wouldn't Eastbourne's assets of been seized by the BSPL to cover any debts , whereas Somerset had no debts when they stopped running and there assets would still be under the control of the company and are free to be sold off by the company owners3 points

I think clubs have got to accept that this day and age you may as well announce signings as soon as the ink is on the contract because with social media it’s going to be leaked. It’s the same with football. Fans are anxious for up to date news which makes it nigh on impossible to keep anything a secret That’s the world we live in now so we’ve got to move with the times or get left behind. Peter mole said last week he would prefer to announce riders at staars meetings but in reality it won’t work. Our promotion do a brilliant job but I think we are at a time when riders just need to be announced as soon as possible to keep the interest going throughout the winter and hopefully the riders can get some sponsorship sorted early.2 points

Unfortunately you may well be right Mike ,but Plymouth weren't accepted until February last year and were given 2weeks to get a team together so I'm not that sympathetic to any late starters tbh.2 points

Should be a transfer window at the end of the season, like Poland, where riders are signed and teams announced. I cannot fathom that, in 2021, we're making announcements through newspapers at 6am on a weekday morning. Crackers.2 points

Aren't most of us Speedway fans retired and watching Lorraine at that time?2 points

Good signing,,, I'm pretty sure all the clubs would have liked him in their team. Definitely a rider that will improve his average,,, and that's how you win. Did you just read that Hawkins/Louis,,, that's how you win2 points

This must already be known, otherwise how can you sign riders on contacts when not knowing when they are required to ride & for how many meetings for your club?2 points

I believe season ticket applications for all clubs will not be available til after the AGM on 7th December when it will (hopefully) be clearer as to which teams will be taking their League place in 2022 and therefore how many fixtures the season ticket will cover.2 points

So this Lawson story which supposedly 'originated' via a link on a Polish website, has now very quickly disappeared into the ether, no doubt from whence it came!!2 points

Good luck to those involved in trying to resurrect Rye House speedway, if ran properly it has been proven in the past to be more than viable. I suggest that maybe if the stifling set racenights hadn't been enforced then possibly Rye House wouldn't have closed a few years back cause Saturday nights in the top flight were well supported? But Rob you've fallen into your mate Steve Ribbons trap of getting involved in petty arguments on forums which can make you look amateurish, looking for notoriety and rub people up the wrong way. I think you and Steve mean well and your doing what the BSPL should have done a couple of years back with Rye House with the generous planning on offer and just basically keeping a track going but I think it'd be wise to keep your distance from online forums.2 points

There is a beautiful photo of the Brisbane Exhibition Ground Speedway (EKKA) on the back cover of this week's (w/e Nov 20) Speedway Star. What a great and historic venue for our sport.2 points

Yes, Noah Moss is half Danish and half Korean. Thomas Sörensen was half Danish and half Sri Lankan. ... and that young German lad You mentioned is Mario Häusl (see picture below), whose father is from Munich and his mother from the Seychelles. He is even sporting the national flag of the Seychelles on his kevlars. He must be the first speedway riders ever to emerge form these Indian Ocean islands.2 points

If we can reach agreement with our landlords at Rye House our intention, BSPL permitting, would be to run NDL. If the agreement is reached quickly enough and the weather allows the work to complete in time to meet the BSPL deadline we could aim for 2022. This is rather unlikely but you never know. With us, Oxford, Eastbourne and maybe Iwade all possibly running NDL sides in 2023 the situation could well be far less bleak in 18 months.2 points

If Birmingham have to race 20 meetings to make the rent pay, perhaps they could go though in every round of the KOC regardless of score & get a place in the play-offs regardless of league position? Wouldn't be the worst rule made in Speedway lol1 point

Personally think it's good for the club and josh to part company for a while . Fantastic around scunny pure entertainment but has become poor away1 point

But Crump received little support from both ex-Leicester rider Boulger and Sanders Saw this on the excellent info site www.internationalspeedway.co.uk with quite a big statement thrown in over this being the strongest England team of all-time at an international match at Leicester in 1975. But you know what, it probably was. All world class and all at - or very near - their peak. Useful reserve pairing too.1 point

Dan should be retained simply because he will improve on his 2021 average due to more than maintaining his home record and increasing his away numbers due to learning from previous visits at tracks where they were his first time.1 point

Probably at Sheffield's request after reading the BSF. They should just announce him 8:00 am tomorrow morning now as it's just ridiculous at this point.1 point

Agree with you that Mountain is a concern as senior 2nd, but I think he can step up. As for Sargent it would have to be no thanks, he's had enough chances over the years, at least a youngster like Rowe has got room for improvement. But I'd still have concerns over the makeup of any team with Dan in the main body, although like you say he would probably swap during the season.1 point

Yes they were - at the end of the season - which is why Bomber Harris was not in the Poole 2019 side. cos his average went too high!!1 point
-
I've included Dan Thompson in my team as well as his brother as I feel they would've been mentioned in the press release with Douglas, Andersen and Zaine if they weren't returning. I do agree with the majority though that Dan would be a bad signing on his average.1 point

Why? The people in charge of the NDL haven’t changed …..they still have to approve these NDL membership applications…. who knows whether they will support stand alone NDL clubs who wish to sign riders that the BSPL big boys don’t like ? If IoW had a successful season - good luck to them ….. maybe the route to profitable speedway is for new clubs to adopt the IoW model instead of accepting the constraints of racing in an NDL with the big boys of the BSPL calling the shots ?1 point

You can more or less piece together every team from the information posted on here so there are few surprises nowadays unless you don't use the internet!1 point

Speedway isn’t going to die that easily in Birmingham. We beat the council to get permission in 2007 we can beat this bump in our history.1 point

I think its really only one Poster is has said he would not have Adam back, and he is entitled to his or her opinion. I think they will be disappointed as reading between the lines Adam wants to be back and the club want him back as well. And I would say that the vast majority of fans want him back at Sheffield.1 point

Not interested in what happens at Scunny. So for the record he fell 4 times in 88 races. Twice at Kings Lynn and Twice at Wolves (Same meeting). One of the falls at Kings Lynn was caused by the chain snapping. So only 3 falls caused by rider error. Would hardly describe him as a prolific faller.1 point
