  1. Most fans feel the same, how many years will we have suffer the same old sh#t.They need to get a grip and put serious deadlines for matches in Competitions to be play or award the match. It’s getting beyond a joke. Also how can they expect fans to fork out money for 2-3 matches in a week just to complete.Utter shambles IMO.

  2. Well that’s the second strings sorted (at least I hope they’re the second strings!)

  3. The start marshal's need to be stronger & in a lot of cases less biased. Riders must be no more than 4 inchs away from the tapes. The tapes should be the same hight as the centre of the front wheel so that if a rider moves he will touch the tape instead of going under them before they move. A two minute clock needs to be in place & used correctly. If the rider is not ready at zero then out he go's & the Refs must not turn it off when it gets to 10 seconds to give riders more time to garden.

  4. Their is a better way, just exclude any rider who moves prior to the start when the green light is on, no replacement. This would eradicate all the nonsense at the tapes in a few meetings. Very few riders get excluded for a second offence in a meeting having been officially warned once, so they clearly know they get no leeway for trying to cheat.

  5. Any predictions for who will line up for the return of the Cheetahs ? Will be a challenge to bring in a couple of heat leaders that will put “bums on seats” wonder whether Nicki Pedersen might be persuaded to lead the club back on track in 2022 ?

  6. I remember being in Ostrava at a match before a world final in Poland. They put straw down set fire to it then graded track

  7. Yeah they're pretty competent bunch, track has really good drainage. 3rd bend can be an issue as doesn't get the sun

  8. if we can't race at Ashfield cos of the weather perhaps we could have tried Workington but then remembered Workington's Toy8tory

  9. Have you forgotten the season he had with Swindon before the Covid crisis? I's have him at BV, track suits him

  10. At the moment Poole to run on Saturday or Sunday is as much to do with availability and goodwill of the Poole Stadium management and staff, rather than any 'reluctance' of the Poole Speedway promoters/riders.

  11. Its usually a Thurs/Fri/Sat or Fri/Sat/Sun in the 1st or 2nd week of November. Maybe the 2nd weekend is more likely as all clubs are usually expected to produce their season's final financial position before they can declare for the next season!!

  12. Think Batch will be on most if not all teams list. He aint all that and is a whinging so and so,,, but he could and should improve his average. Okay at some tracks it might not be a lot,,, but it certainly won't go down. And in the strange world of speedway,, have an awful season, and be the most wanted the season after.

  13. You said that this year Plymouth are obviously trying to make some early waves and the current signings are based on form rather than reputation which makes a lot more sense. There are a lot of inflated averages at present (although final greensheets may change that) so will need a shrewd mind and deep pockets to get the bargain riders. Much will also depend upon how much value can be achieved against the visa riders vs UK based talent.

  14. biblical rain now and i am 15 mins from the track if it goes on most of the night can see a early call off and maybe try for thursday if it’s still bad going to struggle to fit it in before the weekend as poole will not accept having the 2nd leg away and from what i am told can’t run on saturday or sunday any ideas hope people have not booked hotels transport for friday night 2 huge mistakes - 1. having a KO cup competition when season only started late in May. 2. Having 6 teams in play offs causing quarter finals and then mistake 3 Edinburgh and Leicester were allowed to drag quarter finals out for 2+ weeks

  15. Didn't really want to start this til our season is officially finished (goodness knows when that will be?!) But seen in the Bournemouth Echo, we have agreed team places for 2 riders. I assume we are staying in the Championship. If so, hoping these are Danny King and Steve Worrall.

  21. Plenty of precedent to elongate the season if weather has intervened. Edinburgh/Berwick KO Cup Final was rained off (l think) three times and finally staged on November 6th!

  22. He took the team to the play off final, which the Stars were cheated out of winning by some shocking referee decisions in the first leg.

  29. And should be put back 15m. If a team has a strong reserve that team is not penalised. Look at the Panthers and the strong reserve they maintained throughout the season.

  30. Some promotions insisted that they would only take part in the NDL if the matches were held as double headers "where possible" and whilst their inclusion for the league as a whole was beneficial any impact on another clubs operating model should have been taken into consideration

  33. I'll be very surprised if Leicester move up, especially if Premiership race nights remain the same. Saturday is the night for speedway at Leicester. Crowds dropped off when they rode on Mondays - fewer kids in the crowd and the Premiership was a lot stronger then than it is now.

  34. Swindon have already announced and confirmed they will not be running in 2022. Any decision from Poole will be a financial one having lost big money in 2019 due to poor attendances on 'off' race nights ie Thursdays (despite finishing top of the Premiership) and the loss and let-down of their main sponsor mid-season costing them in excess of £20k. I cannot see any 'carrot' big enough in the BSPL finances to attract them back after just one truncated Championship season - unless Eurosport have decided to increase their funding and are desperate to broadcast from somewhere other than NSS, Monmore or anywhere north of Watford!!!!!!???

  38. I do hope so, the quality of Speedway around that particular track is so much better with PL class riders

  39. The 4.77 average has been stated by Mark Philip's the promoter of Plymouth.

  40. If we do go top heavy and get Bewley and fricke, which I now suspect we will then batchelor is a must as he can be that low average thst you will need to hopefully put a few points on there average. And ignoring this year where Sheffield. Makes or breaks you, he usually goes good at NSS. One thing belle vue need is riders who can ride NSS, that's where we seem to always loose it. I'd much rather win all home and loose all away than win a few at home and more away. Winning at home is what keeps the crowd and also a big home wins always puts you in good shape in a 2 legged semi/final

  41. How would they have got the programme printed on a Sunday and shipped from the West Midlands in time for the meeting?

  42. Poland have zero tolerance and dont seem to have many starting issues and races start promptly.. Start Marshall walks away, and if a rider moves back, then the ref tells him and he returns to move the rider forward.. The Final at Peterborough had some riders six inches from the tapes.. No need for so many extra Mickey Mouse rules to be added if they just implemented some rules that they have properly.. Although there would need a comms system from ref to start marshall like Poland have... Two plastic cups and a piece of string may work..?

  43. I'd rather just get rid of all the daft rules and endless changes and tinkering.

  44. Given it was a "5 year plan" what are the chances the "rising star" rule will be dropped after ONE season?

  45. My wife has no interest in Speedway, but always says she enjoys having it on, because of the comments from Pearson and Tatum. The banter has made the coverage much more watchable, as Speedway has a unique issue with the long gaps between the action. It not the commentary of the racing that is important, it's what you say between the heats.

  46. I wonder if he'd refuse to ride in his own farewell meeting if the track was slightly wet?

  47. The bit that worries me is if we make a loss we want your money, if we make a profit we want your money but don’t dare ask us what profit we made. I’m sorry but no way would I give to this.
