First of all get well soon hans Feeling a little deflated after being 10 but it's not over yet. Still all to play for What a great meeting, best I've been to in a long time, watched it back on TV last night and it doesn't really come across as good as it was being there. But trust me when I say. It was good. Dad's army battled hard to get back in it after looking out, They finished top, so if they win we can't begrudge them of that. But we won't give them the title easy. Well done all riders for putting on a show. Was belle vue the winner, NO Was Peterborough the winner, NO Speedway was the winner last night10 points

I understand why some fans are upset at Lambert’s selection over Bewley, but there is - with the greatest respect - a huge difference between beating the likes of Danny King, Richard Lawson and Sam Masters week in week out when compared to competing with world class riders like Zmarzlik, Janowski, Madsen, etc. As has already been mentioned, Lambert is on form - he’s made the last 3 GP semi finals, his Ekstraliga average is approx 1 point per meeting higher than Bewley and over the last 4 Ekstraliga meetings Lambert scored 20 more points than Bewley. And he has experience at this level. Bewley doesn’t and the pressure of performing at that level could impact negatively on a young rider. As we saw last night, on track prepared for the home team, Bewley was still beaten by MPT, Scott Nicholls and Chris Harris. No disrespect to those riders, but as has been pointed out the track won’t be prepared as Belle Vue riders like it so any home track advantage will be very much reduced. Bewley didn’t win the British Final on his home track, so he’s likely to fair less well against much tougher opponents. Bewley is a great rider and given time will hopefully become one of the best riders in the world. But he isn’t there yet. it was a tough decision but Lambert is the right partner for Tai IMO.5 points

It baffles me all this It has been on the Leicester fixture list all season as a reserved date for play off’s so if you buy tickets to SON you made the decision to potentially miss the Lions in the play offs. Leicester is a Saturday night track so why would they diverse from their regular race night when it’s not needed for what will be their biggest meeting of the season & it will severely hit crowd numbers running on a non Saturday. You may pick 1 or 2 people traveling up-to Manchester if you ran Friday but you will gain more fans by running on your regular race night which has been proven in the past. Would you see Poole running their leg any other night regardless of what is going on elsewhere not a chance . This can be added to the list @iainb can complain about to the club enjoy SON #neverhappy4 points

Yup. You haven’t read what’s happening. And seeing the above post you really are as thick as shît Riding at a pre arranged meeting before he’d even signed a contract means it does take priority. If you’re not clever enough to understand the situation then no amount of explaining will get through your thick skull i’m glad the season is nearly over as I won’t have to interact with twunts like you . And people wonder why British speedway is laughed about when people like you are a prime example of « fans » Yes I’ve met loads of brilliant people following speedway unfortunately I’ve also met people like you. to the fans who’ve apologized after thé true facts were known, Thanks. To you pinny, I hope you seek the professional help you need. It must be hard being that thick. I’m out of here folks, it’s great to interact from time to time with real fans but people like Pinny are the reason that most riders avoid this place like the plague.4 points

The score does not matter…. It’s the experience the uk riders will get that matters. They will be racing as a team for the first time for ages.3 points

I have not posted on here for years, what with my team going under many years ago. But just logged on to say what an absolutely fantastic meeting that was last night. Every heat was action packed, and i don't think that there was a processional one all night. I hope that the second leg is as good.3 points

You must realise that it is very difficult - if not impossible - to engage with something so significantly small that it can only produce irrelevant carp!!3 points

You are quite right that the NL of a few years back wasn't perfect but it was thriving. There was pay disparity between some teams but that exists across all the leagues. What did exist was a widespread league which offered opportunities to new and developing riders. Whats more is that there was often a development league running after the meetings putting riders on show, offering precious track time and supplying a genuine conveyor belt of talent. The conveyor belt being that you had to be good enough to get a NL place, reserve spots didn't come easy and were even harder to hold on to but that meant that those who did were of sufficient standard to boost the league. As plenty could see at the start of the 2020 season the NDL had been pushed down as it was far too much of a competitive and viable product compared to the higher tiers and rather than take this approach on board and really embrace it the Board decided to squash the threat to their own businesses with the narrow minded viewpoint that they would get the few riders they needed through the diminishing youth rounds and could continue to ship in overseas riders to bolster the rest. The genuine board held belief that for a sport to thrive the top tiers must take priority is simply short sighted, narrow minded and selfish. For any sport to stand a chance in the short, medium and long term it needs to be built from grass roots up rather than the current approach of letting the (insert expletive here) roll down hill.3 points

Tremendous stuff on one of the best tracks in the world. I did have a moment of despair at the start however when I heard the dreaded words, 'on board camera'. Really annoying and at least one overtaking manoeuvre was missed by this waste of time viewpoint.3 points

Thanks Steve... you are soooooooooo predictable.... At 9:15 I text my mate:- "Wait for Shovlar to say that Leicester will be stronger if Andersen is ruled out!"3 points

Need to keep Chris Louis as the regular pundit as well by the way. Far better than anyone else.3 points

In a six team league this situation could have been foreseen easily by anyone with half a brain at this end of the season and with the amount of injuries incurred in this sport!2 points

I really think it not unreasonable to expect some information from the bosses!!!2 points

It's kind of o0dd isn't it. You could almost imagine that the Glasgow faithful will boycott this one because Craig isn't in the team. Meanwhile, the rest of the British fan base (with the exception of Edinburgh) won't travel north of the Arctic circle.2 points

Don’t think Craig was named in this years GB squad, should be a cracker if the weather is ok!2 points

Scunny didn't have Ellis to send as he was always going to be in France (where he lives) at a meeting already booked before he signed for Scunny. Leicester cant send the twins to Kent because they are required by their first team. Eastbourne riders were not being paid and decided what would and would not happen at Leicester. Speedway UK - Too many teams, not enough riders, and now not enough days in the week!2 points

Because everyone knows how well Harris goes round Wimborne Road, would probably out score Hans2 points

Rob- how did the BSPA website in their preview published on Saturday http://www.speedwaygb.co.uk/news.php?extend.39740 have that Ellis was ill and RR was being deployed- did they make that bit up ??2 points

Sorry but think you have had a bigger bang on the head than Hans2 points

It absolutely stinks that Leicester have done this. Saturday and Sunday is SON, so what about the fans who have tickets for Saturday and Sunday at Belle Vue? Why on earth isn’t this meeting on Friday night? What possible reason can they give to wreck peoples plans at such short notice? It beggars belief that they have done this. They could run on Friday, or even Thursday at a push. Bad promotion.2 points

Latest form doesn't always give the full picture example did you expect that score from Scott Nicholls2 points

I don’t agree. Rightly or wrongly, the rule is clear. As Wolves, Sheffield, Belle Vue and Peterborough were the teams in the play offs, then none of their riders are allowed to guest for any other play off team. It would be absurd to allow guys like Morris, Schlein, Douglas, Howarth, Batchelor, Becker, Pickering etc to guest for Hans in the final.2 points

It's mind blowing that some are angry at the selection of Lambert. He's in the top 10 in both the GPs and the best league in the world. He was top of his team's averages whereas Bewley was just about 4th. He's has had a good season but Lambert has the experience of top level events. We all know the FIM track prep virtually removes home track knowledge so Lambert is a no brainer for me2 points
-
No Andersen, maybe a bit of rain about, potentially dodgy track, British Champion now in town, maybe R/R for Leicester... stranger things have happened2 points
-
Well Peterborough hasn’t been given any special dispensation so far so don’t expect that will change anytime soon. Dispensation is only given to certain teams and as per usual Panthers isn’t one of them.2 points

2019 Peterborough 40 Belle Vue 50 2019 Peterborough 42 Belle Vue 48 2021 Peterborough 40 Belle Vue 50 2021 Peterborough 38 Belle Vue 52 Last 4 meetings at Peterborough, not sure why people think it's all over.2 points

Chris Harris fits for Andersen. That’s one move that would certainly strengthen Leicester2 points

Leicester can lose by 16 & still be in the semi finals, no chance for Scunny whatsoever! Leicester should go with r/r to give their riders track time & look for a guest to race against Poole!2 points

I did and have the video as well which proves there were only about three exciting races. I could never understand why some think it was a brilliant World Final. It was just the atmosphere that made it seem better than it actually was. Tonight's match sounds amazing though judging by all the comments and I am looking forward to watching it on Quest tomorrow.2 points

It's so nice to enter into into such an intellectual conversation.Shame we have to start at Your level.2 points

This is dangerous thinking. I'm assuming you've forgotten about David Nix, a young rider many years ago was suffering from concussion and was riding at conference league level for king's Lynn, he blacked out on track and died as a result. Riders should 100% not be allowed to ride with an existing concussion. It's just not worth the risk.2 points

Bet when the GP entourage get there hands on the track for the SON it be sh¥t at the weekend2 points

Have you seen the two results at Peterborough this year? Belle Vue ridden better away then at home all season .2 points

For me, Kelvin and Nigel are a great combination on comms. I have listened to lots of speedway commentary over many years, but I am not sure I have heard a better combination than those two. They talk some nonsense to fill gaps, they both make mistakes and mock each other...but when it comes down to it, they both show their excitement for the sport in their vocal reactions, and I love that. I don't want to listen to a monotone description of what is happening, I want someone to show enthusiasm and excitement in their description of what is happening....and Nigel and Kelvin deliver that for me.2 points
