Brilliant gesture and Tony Jackson (last Worky manager to win the treble) is coming over and when I offered him a ticket for free he said thanks but I would rather buy one to help the club which was another fantastic gesture... Regards THJ6 points

There are crashes that make you just want to turn the tv off and that was one of them ...i really did fear the worst and thank god they got up .. scary4 points

The only good thing about another utterly rubbish “no passing” GP was seeing Freddie walk off the track after his horrendous crash.3 points

A well deserved retirement, a great servant to many Northern clubs.3 points

By the way I thought the Scunthorpe fans where we stood were a very friendly bunch, up for a bit of banter.3 points

That's what happens when you leave a top notch track like sunny Armadale and spend too long at a second rate ploughed field like Beirut. Would be interesting to see him on a speedway bike, although it's most likely he would end the evening pointless.3 points

Brennan superb , I would agree Kemp has stalled if not gone backwards. Flint is progressing nicely in the Championship, come on a lot this year.3 points

It's one of the best in the country, would be a bit silly to judge it on a wet night don't you think.3 points

It may not have been invented as a team sport but that has always been the main thing that attracted me for 70years and I don't think I am the only one who has no interest at all in individual meetings.2 points

Disappointed not to see Crumpie again , also disappointing last match ,think that's 5 times we've been beaten at home , usually just miss playoffs this year never near if it wasn't for Leon we would be even worse off. With Spud retiring, don't think NBJ will be back now he has a thriving business to run will be interesting to see the shape of the team next year.Good luck to Spud.2 points

Glad to see Freddie get up from that one, horrendous crash, the GP continues to prove having all the best riders doesnt guarantee good racing, im getting fed up with it tbh, appears to becoming more and more processional.2 points

Do You believe the Speedway would have lasted 90 years in this country without the creation of the leagues and team competitions, or International test matches ? That's what has made speedway so big over here in the UK, Poland and Sweden.2 points

Worst crash I’ve seen live at track, the way Freddie was stuck on bike and hit fence head first feared the worst but the air fence did its job!2 points
-
That looked deadly as Freddie had no control hanging on the front of his bike. Relieved they are both up.2 points
-
That looked horrific... Freddie looked like he was knocked out on the bike before he hit the fence.. Hopefully both ok.... Edit. Thank goodness both up..... Air fences worth every penny...2 points

Diamonds fan passing through and supporting the Monarchs. Been a bit of a one line track up until ht10 but if anyone can find a way it is Josh Pickering. Great guy to watch and currently my favourite non-Diamond2 points
-
And that’s the problem, they covered the track for days, uncovered it 2 hours beforehand and was bone dry, put some water on it but just barley dampened the surface, decent track preparation needs a full day or 2 of watering to soak into the base. The best meetings at Vojens is when it’s rained2 points

you don't know it won't happen. I appreciate people support their team. But, there is supporting and arrogance2 points

If there is a potential saviour for next season, getting a huge crowd for the next meeting would possibly help him make a decision. If not, it would help Rob Grant lose a bit less.2 points

It was not an additional attraction because they did absolutely nothing to make it attractive!2 points

Sheffield and Ipswich not riding so Batchelor given his scores at Monmore this season has to be worth a shot especially given his form at Kent2 points

Well done to the Scorpions tonight. They We're clearly fired up for this meeting after losing at home to Leicester Lions a week ago and throwing away a lead at Kent on Tuesdsy. The rain clearly affected Poole and I was disappointed in the performance. Scunthorpe were quicker out of the starts and had more speed and importantly didn't let the conditions put them off. I have been lucky to have seen some cracking meetings at the Eddie Wright Raceway over the years unfortunately the late rain ruined that. You beat us fair and square but just a note of warning to some Scorpians fans. Don't think for one moment that Poole will ride as badly as this come the playoffs and next time if we do meet we won't make it easy for you. Anyway congratulations and good luck In the playoffs.2 points

Riss really has gone backwards when it looked like he would go on to be a superb rider. Shame.2 points

I never said Kasper Andersen was a bad choice just busk Jacob was a safer option, thankfully Kasper turn out to be good. One of the worst meetings I've seen at the EWR in terms of racing but what can you do when you get a down pour before the start of the meeting. I hope you can return in better weather to see what fine racing it can produce.2 points

Cammi Browns position will be in danger with these legitimate well thought out permutations.2 points

Oh dear, a lot of fair weather whingers on here. Weather in Scunthorpe was dry all day and 24c. Light spits and spots at around 6.30pm, track was looking good. Start was delayed due to lots of people sitting in their cars pondering to go or not into the stadium and heavy rain to the West- where the travelling fans were coming from. The track was heavy for first 4 heats and was drying out fast after that. It started raining again at heat 13, when match result was in no doubt. Heavy rain during and after heat 14, so match wound up. Basically one team wanted to race and other beaten before a wheel was turned. TJ was immaculate blasting around the track, Lambo great at reserve, a good guest In Kasper, and the rest all chipped in just where needed. Scunthorpe's ex captain Worrall and ex Scorpion Douglas kept us lively and the rest were pretty average. Your manager made a pratt of himself too!2 points

Superb meeting tonight, Plymouth's fast starting lower order meant Glasgow had to overhaul them which made it great to watch heat after heat. Ruml worked out how to ride the fast line in ht14 and was gradually reeling in Nowak who had a superb debut, much more to come from him. The only down side was the referee letting the 2 minutes run out and riders still fannying about at the tapes a minute later. Its nonsense like that that ruins the sport and puts people off. Its 2 minutes for a reason.2 points

people people people all sensible rules but your all missing the most important decision to be made this year so will the green helmet colour return lets face it its the only thing broken in uk speedway2 points

I think next season Plymouth will be stronger and alot less expensive, onwards and upwards2 points

100%... And quite telling that even though "everything is ok" they have yet to re show it... The level these lads race at is truly staggering.....1 point

Vojens is always crap... Unless it's peeing down and the track is virtually waterlogged so an outside line develops in the mud... Ironically... A track where "Fireman Phil' could have done his worst and made it better... And how poor is this ref? Rolling starts with zero stoppage of the race... You may penalise yourself but you can also penalise other riders too who react to your movement..1 point

What’s the criteria to get information about Berwick. Roll your left trouser leg up holding your left arm up with your two middle fingers parted swearing your oath too the secret society .Finally cattle prodded by Dick to enable compliance to the cause.1 point

I believe the wording in the UK is making forward momentum on the track. Afterwards I believe the referees option is to exclude for delaying the start, something the grand monarch is usually pretty good at1 point

Thank you so much for your kind offer PP, very much appreciated. I got a good hotel deal in Sheffield for the Saturday night so I'll drive straight there. It also takes a bit off the drive on Sunday when the Monarchs are at Newcastle. Thanks again.1 point

Whats the need for change - its been a highly succesful season, the p.offs got record crowds , and after the challenges of operating with limited crowds due to COVID restrictions, every club has enjoyed a wonderful season. ...... In the fantastic Championship League ......sadly Eastbourne closed, Birmingham suffered financial problems, Newcastle are looking for new owners, Poole are in discussions over the continued use of their stadium, but other than that it has been a wonderful season with entertainment from the top drawer. The stand out "Premiership" tier has once again delivered first class entertainment, and goes from strength to strength, with the BSPL once again struggling to decide who to admit to this "elite" division of racing. This season we had 6 clubs fighting tooth and nail for the coveted 4 play off spots. The qualifiers for the 4 spots were in doubt until early May and this made for some top quality racing of the highest standard that England can offer. Of particular note in 2021 has been the huge success of the rising star programme which has developed so many new potential world champions for English speedway. None of the rising stars were known in the sport at the beginning of the season, and all are truly the product of the rising star programme. Next season will see twice as many rising stars in teams , and England will once again have top calibre riders to challenge the worlds top Speedway Grand Prix stars.1 point

Yes, Ian was 97, and was in a retirement home in NZ. Joe Hicks and Dave Gifford passed this on to Reg Fearman who in turn passed it on. Dave and Joe kept an eye on him, as did a number of the "speedway family" members in the rickety-racket islands(haven't heard that term used for years!!). Whenever Reg was down under he would always visit with Ian. I well remember Ian as the flamboyant promoter of Edinburgh in 1964-65-he would have been about 40 then!! How time flies. After he retired from speedway he ran a movie theatre in Rhodesia- when the "barbarians" took over he left and returned to NZ- sensible decision. He was a real character. I also think he may have been the first promoter that Bernt Persson and Bengt Jansson rode for. Another real piece of speedway history has left us. R.I.P. Ian .1 point

Thanks for the reply Vince. I know nothing about insurance for stuff like this. All in all it seems not too bad from what I’ve read bikes were recovered, tools worth £2K and £3K raised by fans.1 point
