  1. Just to be pedantic Hans Andersen is not riding in Poland on Sunday- He is in Latvia riding for Daugavpils in the Polish Div 2

  2. Not a lover of the points system. Preferred the old method when every point counted towards the final outcome

  3. Not a bad meeting but inside gates after track grades were vital. Janowski deservingly won with pass in the final.I still think points scoring system is sh#t but they know the score.

  4. If you believe speedway is dead you've obviously not been to Arlington (Eastbourne Eagles) recently. Why then are you wasting your time posting on this forum surely your time would be better spent commenting on/participating in things that are of actual interest to you.

  5. You should change your name to Thickrat! Are you suggesting that Poole somehow have some control over the Czech government and bribed them to change the countries COVID laws the day after the rider signed for Poole just so that they could use R/R? What a complete and utter

  6. maybe Troy's young family might be holding him back in his head? who knows? affects different people different ways, some see a safer life away from speedway without realising it. something i did mention quite a while ago on here

  7. She was much more than that... She was the first host presenter in the history of the sport on TV in the UK who was actually a knowledgeable fan. Was able to bring more to the party than the stock "what is he thinking right now", "will he be making any changes to his setup" and "is the track changing" questions. And was a decent presenter too. Everybody else has been a rent-a-presenter.

  10. Why strangely? It's a different class. 250cc vs 85cc. Cloppenburg will host the 250cc World Championship next week.

  11. It’s not within the rules. But Poole have been given special dispensation for 7 days. It’s wrong on two levels. Poole chose to sack Keheler so they should have had his replacement ready to step straight in. They didn’t because they had to act quickly to keep cook at reserve so in my opinion the promotion caused the problem so should adhere to the rules.

  12. All this arguing now will not change the outcome. As in football what the ref gives is law on the day. I was not there so can not give an opinion but I have ordered the dvd so may then have a true thought about the matter. With regard to the r/r I see where people are coming from but the rider was in the country and red tape is holding things up. Poole were given a seven day facility but if it is not cleared by their next meeting the facility is withdrawn. Mr May would have objected strongly if there was anything underhand going on. Can’t wait to get down to Poole and watch some racing in such a competitive league and also to Plymouth (my home city) to see the Gladiators. Must admit hard to think of them not being the Devils.

  16. Thought it was decent but gate advantage is a bit much. Charlie is miles better than she was. Pits reporters have to ask stupid questions though???

  17. Not the best of meetings but not bad. Thought Charlie was much better in the studio than when she did the pits bit

  19. Not necessarily, he could get a flat rate whatever he scores, it’s not that uncommon.

  20. It is, but just run with it. Enjoy it for what it is speedway, rather than a win at all costs season. Promoters and riders have probably never found it as tough as the present moment.

  24. It is quite an amusing read. Not many contributors on here in the predicting game that you'd ask to select your lottery numbers.

  25. Interested parties details were obtained at a major moto x show., hundreds signed up. A day was set aside , bikes and kit supplied at Scunthorpe , and all the names were contacted, less than six took up the offer. As for “ go out of there way “ or “ take the mountain to Mohammed “, where are you going to stage a speedway demonstration but at a speedway track ?!?

  28. All the permissions were fine but then the Czechs changed their quarantine regulations (along with UK and other countries) the day after his signature. With committed fixtures in Czecho it has become difficult - not to say impossible - to get the Czech authorities to agree a 'special case'!! Other options are being investigated but there ain't that much rider availability in the 5.00 average range..........!

  31. Issue 10 of the Championship GSAs gives a clue to how the RS rider averages are being calculated. Jordan Palin, while retaining his 1* RS grading, has moved up the Scunthorpe team roster from 7th to 6th, above Josh MacDonald with a 4.00 average and below Simon Lambert at 6.09. This suggests that Palin has a CMA of >4.00 and <6.09, but it seems the actual figure is not to be published. This may means that Drew Kemp does have a CMA from his 4h4a for Ipswich but it doesn't exceed Paul Starke's 4.67.

  33. The riding style used to be like grass track still is.. As the rider entered the bend his aim was to find grip to propel him back down the straight as fast as he could.. And with the hard compound tyres and deep tracks, if they rode them "howling into the bends sideways" like they do today, they would have been spat off when the tyre dug in.. Nowadays riders take up a fair old chunk of the entrance to the bends when side on, with the usually slick surface allowing them confidence to do so.. Hence the best racing is usually to be found on the wider tracks... As you say, at the very top level the racing is still fantastic. As it always was... Unfortunately the vast majority of races (especially over here) are competed in now by a standard below the very top level...

  36. How can Poole use R/R for a rider that has never rode in this country? Cheating at its best.

  37. Not sure where your looking but when I click on fixtures & stats there's no averages for 2021!

  38. Correct, fast times tonight which means poor racing as the inside is grippy and fastest way round. It got bit better in last couple of heats when Wright started finding some grip on the outside line but too late then. I do wonder how much difference this new tyre has made too.

  41. Ummm, so he moans about something and then does it back. Well you can't moan about it then. Idiot. I guess Hume and Cook can both do it back to him next time then as he can't moan about it!!
