Another value for money stream this evening. Was a good match just a shame Kennett and Newman were shambolic for Eastbourne. Brennan once again showing what a top talent he is with some good rides. Jensen brilliant for the Tigers. I really hope Glasgow keep this streaming service going long term because its a fantastic race track and I love the effort the promotion have put into the club and they really want to win which for me in sport is so important.5 points

I’ll be honest, I don’t get a lot of the Dale bashing. I’ve got a lot of time and respect for him, especially for his work with the Young Stars. He did well with the 2018 side and ill health really affected him in 2019. I feel he’s probably working with one hand tied behind his back and cuts a frustrated figure when I’ve seen him this season. He’a a decent team manager in my eyes and I’d rather him than Schroeck. I just don’t rate him at all and my mate who was a Rye House fan called him a clown when it was announced he was linking up with us. Some of his comments this season echo that and his lack of tac subs against Ipswich was ridiculous, though I admit his options were limited as nearly everyone was so poor. ideally I’d like Rob Lyon back as team manager, Dale doing his work behind the scenes and Jonathan Chapman back injecting some life into proceedings. But more chance of snow in the Sahara than that combo coming off.4 points

What do you expect him to say, 'we're gash and will keep losing so don't bother coming?'4 points

Great race from Lambert.... Wonderful to see GB lads not backing off against the best in the world and beating them....3 points

Sam is a great prospect and aquisition, but Kings Lynn lost 38-51 at home last night and that is the immediate issue people are upset about3 points

In the days when speedway was a relatively rich sport ...... Lynn had a speedway only, best in the country, track. It's obviously still decent, Dan Bewley tweeted tonight how much he enjoyed it and he's riding all over the world so should know! Those days are gone though, they are decades ago when you lot were enthusiastic youngsters! I still love it, yes want close racing but I won't give it up til I'm 6 foot under haha2 points

Can't they just take payment over the phone and have a pick up point somewhere outside the stadium for the tickets? Advance booking and no pay at the gate... Ticks both boxes?2 points

Dont think there was a pass all race just nigh on side by side. Superb. Very underrated rider.2 points

This is Allitt's level for me. Absolutely brilliant with the development of youth rider's. Unfortunately I don't think he has the strength mentally for the Premiership, dealing with rider's that have their own mind. Not sure Schroeck is working as Team Manager either. A change is needed for 2022.2 points

Pedersen doing really well in this league and better than I thought to be fair - good on him. Always liked him since i seen him have a classic race with Fryer at Swindon in 00/01. His gating alone will score him top points2 points

Until a representative of Redcar get on the management team , that is not going to happen. The SCB ‘ representative ‘ who originally declared the 2017 Redcar v Glasgow match had to be rerun, then announced 3 days later that the match was awarded to Glasgow ( in the press , not to Redcar ) later admitted in person that he was “ told to make that decision by a senior member of the BSPA “ . Money talks, top table influence has gone on for years. The SCB include the current chairman of the BSP L on the board, how is that an independent body ??? Totally understand Duffill’s frustration , the same as his predecessor, little Redcar not on the top table, no cash to wave around.2 points

I watched the GP qualifier live stream from Glasgow last week what a great meeting and very easy to sign up and watch. I'll definitely be watching this Friday and hoping for a good meeting and an Eagles win. I prefer going to meetings but Glasgow is a 7 hour drive for me so to watch the live stream is a no brainer and the price is OK as well.2 points

Really sorry to see that Rob has decided to quit at Kent. As somebody who remembers him fondly as a kid at Arena where he gave his all in every race, it was amazing to then see him years later return to the sport at Central Park well past his 40th birthday and perform as if he was twenty years younger. On track he was always worth watching, and off it, I believe he gave a lot to the team. It was a shame that he suddenly lost his Championship place pre-season, but I did wonder how he could possibly make it worthwhile to continue just in the National League, given the crazy situation with the fixtures this year. Having ridden in the Royal's opener on May 31st, his next home meeting was not until the end of July. He was not due to get any regular track action until September. That might be okay for a junior managing a few rides elsewhere, but at 50, with two or three good quality bikes to maintain? Good luck Rob in the future, and thanks for the enjoyment you gave us on two wheels - 24 years apart!1 point

Lambert NOT a heat leader ?? you talk some crap!1 point

Couple of decent heats but so one sided. Not a good thing in what is meant to be the best league. Might have best riders but if it’s not close it’s boring. Looking at Sunday fixtures all the duffers fall on same weekend.1 point

It shouldn't change when Ellis joins, the SR states that the 'Team Rating' relates to the initial declaration, not the latest one.1 point
-
Plymouth's first declaration totalled 37.39 so they could declare a 3* rider or under and their 'Team Rising Star' grade is a 3*, so using Flint is quite acceptable. Scunthorpe's grading appears to be incorrect on the latest GSAs ( Issue 5) and indeed on Issue 4 - their 'Team Rising Star' grade was a 3* at first declaration so should remain so The relevant SR is: 012.3.1. Rising Star Regulations – to be inserted on page 112 of 2020 SRs: Rising Star riders can only compete in 2 leagues at any one time. Premiership teams shall declare their initial 1-7’s with a Rising Star rider at reserve and will conform to the following points limitation; 1-6 Total average of 35.50 points maximum and will declare a 4* rider or under. At the commencement of the season, the Rising Star must ride at reserve (No. 6 or 7), at the Team Managers discretion. Upon the issue of Match Averages, the Rising Star riders Team Position will be determined as per SCB reg. 012.3 (Team Line-ups). Championship teams shall declare their initial 1-7’s with a Rising Star rider at reserve and will conform to the following points limitations; 1-6 Total average of 38 points or less will declare a 3* rider or under 1-6 Total average of 39 points or less will declare a 2* rider or under Rising Star riders will remain so for the entire season and can only be replaced in a team declaration by a rider equal to the teams star rating or less at the initial Team Declaration. Rising Star riders, who as per SCB reg. 012.3 (Team Line-ups), shall move into a team’s 1-5 will be subject to SCB reg. 012.4 (Facilities). In the event a Rising Star is absent, with a facility permitted, he can be replaced by; i. any guest rider from the Rising Star list, of that teams initial permitted Team Declaration rating or below, or ii. Rider Replacement, at the Team Managers discretion. Rising Star riders shall compete with a special riding number design denoting they are a Rising Star.1 point

When I lived in Norwich in mid seventies went to every Lynn home meeting and even an away one at Exeter when on holiday in area. Never really got to be a Lynn supporter , but even with the then poor facilities the experience was a whole lot better than it is now.1 point

Ditto to that. I always enjoyed watching Rob as he was all action and quite unpredictable. Could beat the best in the league sometimes and a vastly underrated rider. Now Spooner has to stand up and be counted. A good opportunity for him to shine.1 point

Had the stream last Saturday which was brilliant. Dived in again as this could be close. Any Team with Oystercard and Sedgeman in it will know only too well it's going to be one extreme or the other. Oyster is due a bad one. Nichol has been especially disappointing so far, thought he would clean up in this team. Eagles seem to get best out of Lawson, Kerr; Brennan and especially Newman but will miss Kemp. Delighted to see Kyle, who we ditched far too soon going so well and smile on his face. Key will be Kennett whose scores seem to have been more like a number 6 than a number 1. If he returns 8 points or more could be close. Wonder how long Eastie will persevere with him before looking elsewhere? 49 - 411 point

When I think back to the Star studded line-ups from the 60s/70s onwards. Where did it all go so badly wrong ? Sad place to end up for what was once a great night’s entertainment.1 point

You would like to think Anlas would be absorbing the costs, but then depends on how well you did you due diligence on the contract you signed. (I'll not answer how well scrutinised that would have been) It would be pretty disappointing and typical if the original tyre testing had been done at one of the tracks now needing 2 tyres by who knows? a couple of National League riders because they happened to be there and were free? I mean, you get a proper test like that rather than getting a half decent experienced top level (UK) rider to put them through their paces and give you some proper feedback. But hey, they might want the costs for their expertise and equipment use covered for the day. Whereas giving a couple of national league riders a bit of free track time will be just as good won't it. But this is just speculation Unfortunately speedway still is yet to learn that you get what you pay for. Peanuts and primates1 point

Ostergaard only did 4 official matches for Peterborough in 2019 and was a guest in the Ipswich away match in August so he has only 1 Away to count from 2019 (plus 3 home) and his 2021 matches are 4 home and 2 away so he is one away short for a new MA in July so should stay on his assessed 4.00. Thats of course assuming the BSPL don’t revise his GSA for July 1st which they could do. July GSA are due out anytime.1 point

If the figures here are correct http://www.peterborough-speedway.com/statistics21 Then Ostergaard will be number 1, and Harris at reserve, but you have to go to four decimal places to split him and Nicholls (5.8140 v 5.8144)1 point

So it looks like Dan Bewley won’t be able to compete if Uk citizens are banned from Germany. A real shame as he had a great first round and was in the running to win it. Devalues the competition when this happens.1 point

Excellent response from Ben to the 'statement' in SS... Ben Duffill 37 m · Via the Speedway Star, a ‘spokesman’ for SCB has issued a response to my query as to why the recent Redcar V Birmingham KO Cup match was different to the Redcar V Glasgow (01.06.17) and Coventry V Rye House (11.09.15) matches. Both of those matches were abandoned and declared before heat 10, whereas the KO Cup match was not. I have asked several times via email, why those matches were declared, contrary to the SCB’s own rule book (SCB reg 011.1.23). I was NOT given a reason - I was told that a meeting can only be declared before heat 10 if the result is already ‘mathematically certain’, with no other explanation. I wouldn’t usually take to social media to do this, but feel I have no other option as I didn’t get the decency of a reply to my question by email - instead I had to read it in the Speedway Star this morning. Reading the ‘spokesman’s’ response, he states that the 2 matches I have used as an example, were ‘beyond doubt mathematically’! It’s written for us all to read, but is completely untrue. If you see the photos attached to this post, you will see that NEITHER of those results were mathematically beyond doubt. The opposition could have won by heat 15 in both examples (if they are using heat 10 for that analysis, then the KO Cup match result was beyond doubt too). In fact, the score difference was exactly the same (8 points) at the time of the abandonment in the Redcar V Glasgow match in 2017. Both matches were abandoned after Heat 9 - other than the fact that one was a KO Cup match, there is no difference whatsoever. The rule book does not state that a KO Cup match is treated differently to a league match either! (see attached reg 011.1.23). In this article, the SCB also state that the KO Cup match at Birmingham was not abandoned due to the condition of the track - the fact that the match was delayed for over an hour due to the remedial track work means that it WAS directly responsible. The match would never have reached curfew otherwise - the SCB have not acknowledged this in their statement. It’s a shame this explanation wasn’t given to me personally by our governing body when I requested it, but then again, it’s a very weak and untrue explanation. The evidence is attached for all to see. These decisions ARE inconsistent, and our treatment in this situation is disrespectful and unfair. Precedents were set I’m afraid and this explanation is not fooling me, or Redcar Speedway - we deserve better.1 point

I don't buy all this "for our entertainment" business, some will no doubt want to put a show on for fans, but don't kid yourself it's primarily about doing it for themselves. You can see that by how many riders willingly come round to acknowledge the fans after a race win or close race.1 point
