Hopefully all the P’Boro riders make it to Owlerton on time. Those queues at the post office on a Thursday can be quite long5 points

Understand sometimes it can’t be avoided but speedway constantly disappoints doesn’t it.4 points

Before you berate Redcar again due to a lack of information, I think it’s time we make some facts clear. Jordan Stewart applied for his visa in December 2020. It’s taken UKVI almost 6 months to process his visa, entirely due to Covid 19 and not because of any lack of urgency by rider or promotion. His visa arrived for Redcar last Saturday! As clubs that pride ourselves on a professional approach, both Redcar and Ipswich have done everything as early as we possibly could, but have been in the hands of the people and organisations that process these applications. Covid has caused an endless number of problems for all of us, visas being one of them. I hope that clear things up. Regards, Jitendra Duffill3 points

Speedway still in the dark ages. Whole market out there willing to pay a tenner for a stream. £10,000 going begging. Denmark stream for free. About time the sport realised there’s lots of money to be made by streaming services and came into the 21st century.3 points

Currently at the track Where's it's very light drizzle. Going to be like this for the next hour. It's thst fine it will do the track more good than harm3 points

Yes, and quite rightly too... As it's their job, and their job alone, to make the sport look bad...3 points

It's blocks of 6 what they want to fill as a 6 if possible but if a pair wanted a slot they could use a six block and still just pay for 2... if that makes sense... Newcastle did have limited numbers of 2 slots and 4 slots anyway and it's all down to social distancing... It looks like Poole can have 30% of the max capacity of the stadium and I don't know what that equates to so say 900 fans if the place holds 3000... therefore that's 150 plots with 6 people in spaces 2 metres apart... So... and not having been to Poole Stadium I don't know... could you fit 150 blocks in the stadium that will allow for the recommended space of 2 metres social distancing... Will they get 900 or whatever fans coming to the meeting because let's be fair these promoters aren't daft and want as many people in they can get and they certainly won't be charging one person the price of 6 to get in the stadium ffs if they cant fill all the blocks... Why does everything have to be taken to the ridiculous end of the spectrum... give the Promotion a little credit they want as many in as possible but at the same time the have to ensure everyone's safety... and no doubt they will... Why turn a drama into a crisis... email the club tell them your predicament and I am sure you will be accommodated... As you rightly say Mike there is always the opportunity to "bubble up" with other Poole fans to make a 6... become a Speedway Bubble... Regards THJ3 points

To be fair, your first post on this specifically blames the Redcar promotion..2 points

Justice for fact they were on a 5-1 having both blatantly jumping the start - not a single race brought back to the tapes tonight, several races Belle Vue got away with movement and guessing the start tonight! decent opening meeting, lots to improve on from an ipswich perspective, looked like a team that’s now built 2 points under the limit sadly, crump will get sharper I’m sure and kemp will pick up no doubt looked nervous tonight my biggest concern is we’ve got a 3rd heat leader now riding at 5 and we’ve got a second string riding at 3 - I’m a fan of both king and Heeps, both good riders but with the loss of klindt they’re now riding in positions above their level and are going to consistently come up against better opposing numbers home and away2 points

Did not Ipswich win the league with a six person team? Nobody complained then2 points

We've been lucky at Ipswich with our own Kim jansson and also Marius puzakowski (sp) , who both loved playing to the crowds, but AZ bruv said our guys do come round regularly2 points

Speedway Star reports Scott Nicholls will guest for Riss (about equal) but getting Broc Nicol in place of Grobauer is akin to daylight robbery!2 points

I thought this was quite helpful - if you're friendly with Mr Preece but can't stand Mr Jones (no offence, example only) you'd tailor your booking accordingly. The tone of your initial message led me to think that address, card number and CVV details were on view.2 points

The thing that surprises me here is that people actually seemed to be surprised by rule fiddling, cheating and general bunkum authorised by the BSPL. They have, after all, been doing it season after season for decades so we should be entirely used to it. 'Bring on the youth'. By my rough calculation, around one third of those named in NDL teams would not qualify to take part in the league under the conditions indicated in Speedy Star by Jason Pipe.2 points

He's on a hiding to nothing calls it off early, some fans moan, call it off late some fans moan. Meeting abandoned after a few heats and loads of track work, some fans moan. Personally I think its better to make the call earlier and save everyone time and money.2 points

Some may have seen that I have moaned about this on social media last few days, 18 months break between meetings. Electricity flowing through everyone's veins with excitement. Imagine this. Heat 1. Home rider wins. Crowd go wild. Winner celebrates with the crowd. Oh it's good to be back. Amazing. BUT..... As I said imagine that. Because that diddnt happen at belle vue. Now I understand jye had 2 rides on bounce so we can let him off. But in all the race winners only Bewley come round to take the applause. Fans seem to be invisible to the rider. We want to be entertained not just on track but with wheelies or like cookie does a fake chest pump on the badge. Means alot to the crowd that. When they do a good race and the crowd get excited they just kill any momentum the crowd gained by going straight to pits. . It's takes 30 secs to take the applause. Belle vue are really bad at it. What is your club like. Are you satisfied with the fan/rider interaction or does it not bother you1 point
-
Arguably evened out by the clear jump by Kurtz in the same heat that wasn't called back.... A draw a fair result overall. Both sides can point to if and maybes In a largely gate and go meeting (although most heats were hard fought and rarely strung out) the two well crafted overtakes by Bewley on Heeps and then Allen showed his huge development and class1 point

Certainly did. Looked a very good side Belle Vue. Keep everyone fit and available and they’re favourites IMO.1 point

Time has moved on and it was merely an observation but unvalidated as I am not at the meeting and without attendance figures being published, who knows. It still comes down to being short changed and the point of the comment was to possibly highlight a reason why some feel that the clubs are taking the p.. and that is understandable. Frankly those in charge have learnt nothing over the past year or so and take every paying punter for granted. SS makes a valid point re streaming and many would watch and the Glasgow meeting is a fine example. Many will pay to watch conveniently but will not drive miles to a track but the sport has in many areas failed to keep abreast of the times. The sport will fall on its sword if it does no wake up to the technology.1 point

Not that it really matters, but I can see 4 wearing masks in that photo. One a couple rows back and to the right of the guy in red you circled, then another guy a row further back and to the right of the guy I just mentioned. re councils having a say. Remember the tiers the government introduced last year, councils complained that they should have a say as they are closer to the ground and knew more about circumstances. I would think that’s where council involvement stems from.1 point

The promotion had to call this off early doors with the weather forecast as it was. There's always a good crowd come up from Peterborough and it was only fair to them to call it early. Gone are the days of Neil Machin and his, "it's definitely on." Only to get a crowd in and call it off at 8 - 8.15pm.1 point

As a matter of interest, when was the regulation that prohibited a Guest or RR facility being given for a rider that had never ridden for a club, removed from the rule book?1 point
-
Just read it on Kindle. Slightly disappointing read imo, I'd say it is probably for DJ fans only - lots of year by year detail, but little real insight into the person rather than the rider, and no real analysis of what caused the regular engine failures at key moments. One of the duller speedway biographies.1 point

Not quite the same when they are forced to do it! They should want to do it. Bit like telling your child to say hello to someone when they don't want to.1 point

Polish clubs will want to protect their interests, riding in another league or country increases the riders chances of injury or getting Covid-19 or one of its variants. Along with every country having a variation on rules re Covid. Keep them in Poland within social bubbles means less chance of infection, so their teams stay at full strength. Also If as it seems you have to pay for tests under certain circumstances when you come to the UK, will any rider want the additional hassle and expense of criss crossing Europe1 point

I do like Woodhull but it seems a bizarre choice. Colts have Compton as their elder statesman and JPB & Coles who can hold their own easily. I’d have thought Woodhull would be best concentrating on his own improvements rather than giving him the responsibility of sorting out his senior riders.1 point

One of Len Silvers targets seems to always have been to try and do everything to have 'weekly speedway'... Which has no doubt helped him when deciding to call off meetings, as he knows there is (usually), "always next week". Meaning dissapointed fans won't have to wait long to be back at the stadium, and he won't be 'peeing off' his customers by putting on either a very poor meeting or calling one off after it has started... For many other tracks it may be their only meeting for a month so try everything they know to get 'dodgy weather' meetings on, with often the obvious disastrous consequences for the entertainment value provided and dissatisfaction to their 'customers'... Fair play to the guy, his longevity in the sport suggests that he more than "knows his stuff"...1 point

Think what Speedway Fan is trying to point out is that clubs are having to look at alternative ways to selling tickets as most local authorities are discouraging the use of turnstiles as it is difficult to maintain social distancing... You aren't the only one who isn't a whizz kid and most if not all promotions will assist and accommodate their fans Regards THJ1 point

It really doesn't take much to do a lap of honour, promoters should 100% insist on their riders doing it and meaning it!!1 point
-
Very pleased with the pricing all things considered. The club is not benefitting from car parking, F&B, hospitality and merch. When you factor in that one purchase can cover a household, it is clear that they have pitched it at an excellent price. This is a professional production with 4 cameras and Nigel on comms. The price point is equivalent if not a bit cheaper than other benchmarks, so fair play.1 point

Generally really good at this at Ipswich It's actively encouraged and riders are sent round for a lap of honour Lots of waves and fist pumps and lots of noise from The Massif1 point
