Boo bloody hoo , so we've got to wear a face mask for probably the 1st few months of the season until restrictions are eased . Well why don't we ask the Swindon fans if they'd be prepared to wear a mask in the stadium if it meant they could see their team on track this season ? We've been following guidelines and restrictions for the best part of 14 months now what's another few months if it allows the sport of speedway to start this season. Look at the bigger picture people , before it's too late .4 points

I think this is one of best rules to have been launched. All Ippo fans to wear masks. Should have happened years back. . Hopefully full Face ones.4 points

Well, once again despite all the hype about reducing costs by cutting points limits , one by one the "premiership" clubs are upping their admission prices. The ever ageing dwindling band of "diehards" will surely turn up, but if the aim is to attract new supporters to the sport , they are going a funny way about it. six green bottles sitting on the wall, six green bottles sitting on the wall....... How many green bottles will be sitting on the wall in 2022?2 points

Good for you you go and enjoy yourself. Personally, I’ve had a gutful of the whole damn thing. Yesterday, I was given a volley of abuse from one person as my mask wasn’t all the way up yards before I’d even reached the doors of the supermarket. I’ve abided by the rules and never refused to wear one, and was fully prepared to raise my mask over my nose when I actually reached the supermarket like I have every time before. What the hell has happened to people? Sick to the back teeth of it all. Be ar$ed with standing there for a couple of hours with a mask on especially if draconian measures are in place like in the post above where we’re going to be monitored by stewards like naughty school kids. I don’t miss it that much.2 points

For me Premier Sports is the new Eurosport, the way Eurosport used to be back in the day. They have a few showpiece sports that they build their channels around Scottish/Spanish/Italian Football, NHL, some Rugby and NASCAR (I think) and fill the rest of the airtime with mostly showing 3rd rate sports (Speedway lol) on the cheap i.e. lone commentators working from home (or a centrally based studio) trying to kid you that they are at the stadium. I'm only interested in the Speedway really, so can only really comment on that. Compared to last year so far it's been absolutely p155 poor mainly due to PS deciding to only show the Polish Sunday matches and Poland deciding to call most of them off based on a weather forecast. Hopefully when the weather gets better in the summer things will be better with the added coverage of the Swedish speedway league.2 points

Couldn't they borrow/lease one from Swindon or Somerset as they're not running this season, well hopefully only this season, until they can source and buy one themselves Afterall a guest water bowser would fit into speedway quite well1 point

Yes all set to go- forecast good for Sunday.1 point

And many last year wouldnt have actually lost money... Or at least will have lost a lot less than usual... With the vastly reduced level on show it surely can't cost the same? (And if it does then they are crackers to pay lesser riders the same money, but "you never know"!! And even with the capacity reductions, most will comfortably be able to get their usual average crowd in I would think so no loss of revenue there for many.. Given the health concerns of re joining 'society' for many of their demographic fan base, not sure a price increase is wise to be honest.. Edit: and this year they get TV money too...1 point

Not been as good as last year as they showed all the meetings. However when the Swedish league starts you are getting 3 meetings a week so pretty good value. They also show boxing which I watch so I get pretty good value out of my subscription.1 point

Signing a rider then announcing a rider to the public might be 2 different dates. In previous years, riders are approached before a season has ended & only announced after the AGM, sometimes in groups but sometimes 1 rider per week.1 point

Yeah I watched it back again & realized he was on about Scunthorpe but the Redcar track is still super tho1 point

Only 4 weeks or so between the May 17th restrictions and the June 21st further easing so fingers crossed things continue to go smoothly until then so all clubs can then get maximum revenue1 point

He's talking about Scunthorpe and saying people are now moving to Redcar instead because Scunthorpe don't water, grade and it's tarmac1 point

The biggest problem i can foresee for British Speedway are the weekly E Winner Monday night fixtures - there will be only one winner(no pun intended) there !!1 point

There's always someone that will complain.....but I'll be grateful and count my lucky stars that I get to see any racing, from any position!!1 point

I have never understood the justification for booking fees. It is just an excuse to extract more money. It winds people up (or it does me!). If you feel you need to charge a bit more, just include it in the price for the event.1 point

One has to bear in mind that without spectators postponements are not inconveniencing them at present. One also has to remember that with Polish crowds being allowed in from Saturday May 15 th(25%of capacity) some of the postponements are “ tactical”. When fans are allowed to attend there will be far less postponements.1 point

Don't know who he is but I've just watched the belle Vue track day what Paul Bowen of the colts videod but there was some bloke saying it was well worth the £175 to ride the track compared to the tarmac he rides at Redcar !! Mmm he must mean the A66 or maybe the A19 or skipper's lane as the track is superb1 point

I get the feeling not much effort will be made to get some matches on at the moment, with the date of fans due back in stadiums nearing ever closer!1 point

The admission rise must grate with some of those who contributed towards the near 4k that ended up being donated to the riders ,theres obviously some who will be happy to have some speedway but not all will see it that way and maybe wish they hadn't been quite so generous.1 point

I get the price increase,,, everything always goes up,,, but I haven't had a wage increase in 3 years now,, so eventually something will have to give as disposable income gets less and less. I'm sure I'm not the only one. This time the increase hasn't pushed me over the edge,, but next time it might.1 point

NICE to hear. We will be producing a 64-page pre-season special next week and have also taken the plunge and increased the paper quality which we previously changed to keep us afloat.1 point

Mine arrived at 4:15 a.m. A satisfying sound of it dropping on the doormat stirred me from my slumber and I turned over for another four hours in bed. Much better then waiting until the postwoman arrives just as the sun is going down, or even worse, having to wait several days while the Royal Mail decide to deliver it. I would also echo the earlier comments of bellevueace re the content. Absolutely outstanding this past year, great content and always an interesting and informative read.1 point
