  1. Polish speedway is run by people who want their league to be the best in the world, Britain speedway is run by people who want their team to be the best in the league!

  2. Wrong, Polish Speedway is run by people who have millions of TV and State and Local Authority money to spend who like the PL Soccer in UK are living beyond their means whilst they have that spending power. British Speedway is governed by dinosaurs and masses of stupid rules that stop some Clubs from having the power to break out of the headlock they have them in.

  3. If correct. Surely this should have been done months ago? Forget any "Poland throwing a spanner in the works" or 'Brexit issues', as they should have had all riders who wanted to sign, signed up months ago using detailed knowledge of work permit rules.. Anyone hedging their bets, and biding time, should have been given to September end as the latest to confirm or not.. If no answer forthcoming or only a tentative 'yes' then that rider should have been ruled out... A 100% comittment or nothing at all has to be the way forward.. Then knowing how many unequivocal Yes answers they had, they could then have spent the last three months planning team strengths, riders per team, provisional fixture lists, race formats etc.. Its called being in charge of your own destiny..

  4. Like I said, it works for him. Iversen has also ridden in every league and the GP’s before but most other top class riders are happy to just ride a couple of times a week and rest more/travel less. I can’t speak for other Lynn supporters but I defended Woffinden when he stopped riding over here, and winning world titles afterwards vindicated that. I’ve never had a problem with any rider quitting the UK, it’s been a steady trickle over the years unfortunately and Lambert is just the latest one. I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how little backlash there has been towards Robert on social media especially, I thought most people would hammer him for it but from what I’ve seen it’s been the opposite with most people appreciating his position and decision.

  6. You're on mate, seriously, as soon as it's all back on again. I've been racing for years, never once fell out of my armchair when cornering and that includes the tight tracks like Arlington, scored paid 11 last time I rode at Monmore Green, when in doubt wind it on. Lets ride speedway!!

  7. For the promoters, it is a jump into the unknown. How can they offer riders contracts without knowing the crowd levels post covid. Things will never be the same, for anyone connected with the sport. I fear it will be survival of the fittest.

  8. Too many clubs would not agree. For example you have sent Eastbourne, one of the better and most proactive run clubs, down to a semi pro league but offered their declared 1-7 as available to the top league. Poole, Somerset, Leicester and far too many clubs would be insulted with this.

  9. Really enjoyed my visits to Rye House over the years from sunny sundays in the NNL, to King Cinder, then after Oxford closing going 4 or 5 times a year dependent on opposition, football and gigs

  12. Nothing wrong with gardening if it within the 2 minutes. No worse than just sitting there waiting for the clock to count down. Why do people have such a problem with "gardening"? I don't get it.

  13. Isn't that why Glasgow and a few others like Somerset and Eastbourne are rightly kicking off? They built their teams to the rules, got everything sorted professionally and now the lazy ones who sat back want a reduced limit to cherry pick those that have to be released?

  15. Absolutely, he was a late developer and rode in our second division for a long time before he became world class and it suits him to race here now but for most others it doesn’t any more. Every rider does what is right for them, this country is pretty much at the bottom of the speedway food chain nowadays due to being so spectacularly mismanaged hence so few top riders appearing here but if it works for Doyle then good luck to him. I’ve never really agreed with the ‘loyalty’ thing though, clubs hire and fire riders as they see fit so it works both ways.

  17. All 100% accurate... But nothing that hasn't been said on here, clubs' own fans forums, and in the Speedway publications, a gazzilion times over the past two decades or so.. Rinse and repeat ad infinitum I am afraid.. The glaring issues have been there for a long, long time and must be obvious to all... But still not sorted... A classic example is that they have had a NINE month lead time to plan ahead, plot their own way forward, be in charge (once more), of their own destiny, and what do we have...? "Give us another week will you?"

  19. I think the last line is key, ONE GP rider who rides over here, and if his family wasn’t based here I suspect he wouldn’t. Lambert no longer resides in the UK and as well as his two leagues will be doing GP, SEC and presumably GP qualifying. Riding once a week in Sweden rather than often twice over here plus the extra travelling and less down time must be a big factor in his decision. Loyalty doesn’t really come into it for me, he has to do the best for himself and his career whatever that means. Tai is obviously a role model and mentor for him and his achievements since he cut out UK racing speak for themselves. As I said I don’t blame him at all and hopefully he goes from strength to strength and continues to develop into a world class rider.

  21. I’ve had this argument about air fences many times in the past. Whilst you don’t see the ‘fences lifting’ or riders sliding under them anywhere near as much as you used to around 20 years ago, I’ve never understood why the fences aren’t sunk into the ground 12” or even more and then anchored down to prevent that being an issue?
