Last seasons end of year test against Denmark was the kind of thing team GB needs. Proper international tests both home and away where all 7 riders get rides3 points

Maybe just me, but REALLY, what difference will putting the meeting back a WEEK make. They used to be indecisive, now they are not so sure.!!2 points

Six man teams in both leagues? Premiership Lite? Two Prem heat leaders, two second strings/championship 'third' heat leaders who double up, two Championship second strings/reserves who double up? Championsip Lite? One heat leader (doubling down), three Championship level second strings/Prem reserves doubling down, two reserves (NL double uppers?) Mainly British, lots of rides for the double uppers/downers, and gives plenty of the NL lads a chance to race in the 2nd tier.. Maybe even do some number crunching to devise a set maximum points limits on each segment of the team, ie top two riders, middle two riders, and bottom two riders all have a maximum points level per pair that you must work to, this would prevent one team having two outstanding heat leaders... Very important that each track gets a fair crack at putting a decent team together..2 points

british speedway didnt do anything for robert in his early stages, thats why he and his parents travelled to germany every weekend so robert could get some competative racing when he were 12/13.the powers that be would allow him to do so in the uk.isnt it strange how when he showed his real potential they were all over him.........another young rider that vatcher & co cant claim credit for2 points

I couldn’t agree more. When the season starts because of corona virus is neither here nor there with regards the make up of the teams. It’s an absolute mess to now have made no plans and solutions to conquer Brexit, Polish League and other doings which have been on the cards as you say for months and beyond.1 point

Having a major rider (who will have had fixtures planned around his own individual ambition and racing schedule), be announced the day before the planned AGM that he won't be riding over here, suggests the last nine months of planning opportunity hasn't been too well delivered doesn't it? Maybe the time has been spent on the usual "how can we work around every one else's agenda instead of ploughing our own furrow and become in charge of our own destiny?"...1 point

Puzzling that they have delayed the AGM as it must have been planned to be done on zoom due to wide spread restrictions?1 point

It's called "Saving Speedway" by well known author and speedway historian Philip Dalling. It covers the SAL and Prov. League-say 1954-64. Even though I am interested in this part of history particularly the Prov. league, I learned quite a bit , also the illustrations are excellent -many speedway photographs new to me. Comments by many promoters/ riders of that period are most interesting. I got it for xmas, and have hardly put it down. Highly recommnded to all.1 point

The lockdown of March 2020 created a precedent in English Common Law which allows for the imposition of “lockdowns” and the suspension of Human Rights at any time the government believes there is a pandemic. Conveniently, the World Health Organisation (WHO) revised the definition of “pandemic” in 2018. Whereas previously only a disease causing vast numbers of deaths could be declared a pandemic, the new definition allows for the word to be applied to virtually any disease that might be suspected to be contagious. Therefore a bad head-cold or “sickness bug” with the capacity to spread can be declared a pandemic, allowing the UK government to impose lockdowns at will. Debate that.1 point

As things stand, I find it hard to see how the season can start at Easter, still, here's hoping.1 point

And 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... Cue the "turning his back on British Speedway", "he wouldn't be where he is now if it wasn't for British Speedway", "and just at the time British Speedway needs all the support it can get"...Comments.. He will be German next....1 point

In the 70s jobs were two a penny so yes riders could be part time as such, it's not so easy these days I suspect hence they like to be 'pro' riders and why not? Plus years ago I suspect there were many more Friday/Saturday clubs in the British/Elite/Premiership so again it was easier to hold down a job and race speedway?1 point

Never a problem for the Swindon riders as always in the shade created by the Cheetahs/Rebels in front1 point

Sam Allardyce bemoaning the fact that he couldn't bring four players in to WBA due to work permit issues linked to Brexit... Lots of 'points scoring' criteria linked to age, capability level etc... Presume Speedway riders will face the same kind or similar criteria to be awarded a permit? Maybe that is taking the time to announce details for this season?1 point

It's alright guys it's not hot gossip ! It's that time of the year to say a really big thank you to both to Sue and R and R for the brilliant results service that Sue and her gang provide, and to R and R for his fantastic mine of information and knowledge of Polish and European speedway, and above all providing us with links so that we can enjoy quality speedway on the internet. You've both kept my life time involvement and interest in speedway alive Happy New Year to you both and stay safe Roll on April !1 point
