After the disappointing meeting from ZG, this was a meeting full of drama and great heats. Gorzów's track has been slated a good few times this season but it was pretty damn good last night. Some wonderful performances from Kołodziej, Woźniak, Holder, Thomsen and Zmarzlik. The scenes of celebration were also great to see. When the underdog comes back it's always entertaining. Yes, it'll be an easy overall win for Leszno tomorrow no doubt, but fair play to Gorzów, and their fans, for making the 1st leg a pretty outstanding meeting under the circumstances.5 points

That is the the reason Bartek is double World Champion though, you don’t win by pussy footing about.Tai won’t win another Championship riding conservatively. As for injury it could happen to any rider at any time it’s part and parcel of the sport.I don’t think Bartek has been quite lucky.4 points

Bartek has been around while and doesn’t crash much considering the way you think he rides. Its very hard to be safe rider in Speedway so much depends on other riders.Crump,Doyle,Pedersen all had serious injuries that just the nature of the sport.Im sure the riders don’t give it a thought or they are in the wrong sport.Look at Adams and Gollob rode the sport for 20 years and both seriously injured “playing about” after they finished.Air fences have reduced the injury risk somewhat,Tai at the weekend being a perfect example.Hate to think of what his injury would have been before they came along. We just have to enjoy what we are watching and wish the riders well.2 points

Hello I'm a postie and don't really think the packaging has anything to do with delayed deliveries. At my office there are probably around 85 staff and for the last week we have had 40+ people off with Covid so unfortunately some people will receive mail late and there's not a lot we can do about it we are trying our best but we just don't have the resources, and I'd imagine it's the same up and down the country. but hopefully things should start to improve in the next week or so.1 point

It says on the Berwick website a link will be posted on the day of the event for the pay what you like deal. I'm assuming this is in case of bad weather and making sure that it goes ahead. Better than having to make loads of refunds imo.1 point

Looks to be off. Unless there is a huge public bar at the bottom of the stairs.1 point

Good catch...I read right over that....my guess is they mean 2020......And yes they do seem to change the scoring every year 'cos they just can't get it right, I think last year you could have drawn heats as the scoring was the conventional 3-2-1-0 now its 4-3-2-1 so you can never have a drawn heat.1 point

Don’t want to be a stickler for information, but Thomsen didn’t take a tac sub. Kasprzak was replaced twice, once by Zmarzlik and once by Wozniak1 point

For me he takes too many chances too early in races and I think it'll only be a matter of time before it catches up with him, he makes some very desperate moves very early in races, compare him to Tai who will let a race play out only making a desperate move, if needed, on the last bend. I think Bartek has been quite lucky so far to not have a "big" injury a season ender and it'll be interesting to see how he comes back from one when he inevitably does1 point

You obviously have an interest in Speedway, you should go, maybe just once a year, you never know you may re-discover your mojo, I re-discovered mine last year1 point

Could Gorzow not use Brady Krusty as a guest? He would have a point to prove against Leszno.1 point

More to do with the engines they use than the rider now but last year we had a falubaz rider over at Wolves and he was shocked of how deep the dirt was on the corners as in poland the tracks have barely any dirt, it took him 2 rides to get a full skid on, riding in Britain should be a must for any rider to learn how to ride a technical often rough track, anyone can go fast on s billiard table of a track1 point

All those wet nights at Belle Vue and the likes of Workington are paying off for him big time!!!! Using Tai’s engines must help also!!!!!1 point

That was a farce. After seeing the track work in Sweden it makes Poland look very poor1 point

All those rainy nights in Manchester and Workington paying off for Dan Bewley, all credit to him, easily the best rider on show tonight.1 point

Last week I asked Berwick speedway will the stream be available after the event as I cannot watch it live. They said no decision made yet, they have done that before, probably will do but it will be announced on the website.1 point

Even though there were flaws with it - there will be with ANY system - I agree with you...1 point
-
We had this system with the D, C, B, and A finals during the 1990s SGP Series. It was also used for a long time in ice racing, but I did not like it. Last year's points system was the best we ever had in the SGP! Every point counted.1 point

Put a few U19 riders in and say its 'grassroots'? Move along now, nothing to see here..1 point
-
52 years experience and the system still takes time to work through. Plus you understand the system to begin with. Scoring should be instant as fans in the stadium must know what is happening. Which must mean keeping it simple. This system to new or irregular fans is not simple.1 point

I'm not sure where you have got that about initial costs, Belle Vue were using an external company who are being paid. I didn't see the Edinburgh and Plymouth streams but I would guess they didn't have a setup like this with multiple people working those computers, plus at least 5 cameras with 4 camera operators etc, not cheap.1 point

I have noticed that in the 13 games I have been to since matches were allowed with imposed crowd restrictions, attendances have been noticeably up on comparable games last year. Although they have had a crowd limit of 300 imposed Walthamstow in the Essex League, for example, have had sell outs at all but one home game this season. Their average home gate last year was, I believe, 79.1 point

Wouldn't have bothered normally but brilliant decision by Berwick or whoever decided this. Will definitely book it up, thinking a fiver but may throw a few extra pounds in for good measure1 point

Totally agree with you Sydney, That five year ban was a joke aimed solely to stop him riding. When his appeal was heard on the day of the British final , because the case was so fictitious, everyone assume it would be thrown out of court leaving him free to ride in the final that night. Hundred of supporters travelled to Coventry believing he would ride only to be informed over the loudspeaker, that the BSPA then concocted another offence against him with this time a 12 month ban instead of the five year one. It was so obvious to each and everyone one of us that they were out to get him no matter what........ I can personally name 6 people who travelled to that British final that night who, on hearing the announcement, packed up and went straight home, never to go to another speedway meeting again.... Since that day in question the belief of many Stars supporters have never been so keen as they were years gone by. When somebody Like Michael Lee comes along to grace our sport, one would have thought the powers in charge would do everything in their power to use situation to elevate this sport to greater heights, But it appeared these people were so jealous of his ability to enthral vast crowd they did their upmost to destroy him... Its no surprise, when thinking back 40 years, when we ruled the world, and this sport was compared with football , that we are now the poor relation when neither the fans nor the riders want to participate. and how much blame can be proportioned to the people who made all those dreadful decisions....1 point
