Where to start? Easy. From the moment of ordering a ticket, to going into the stadium, finding my vantage point, watching the racing and then leaving. Couldnt have been easier. It was easily the most enjoyable meeting I have been to at Plymouth for years. Everything was controlled perfectly, people always on hand for those who needed help. The track? I was critical of how things went last year. This time? Probably the best its been in my memory,(I was at the very 1st meeting here) So to that end, I certainly applaud Mark and his team for their efforts. Last night was deserved reward for all their hard work. Only a couple of minor things I didnt like so much. The parade presentation and after the 4 lap blast was a little chaotic.Needs sorting out. Also Mike on the mic, please learn how to pronounce riders names. Every time Alfie came out, we had a different version of his name as in Bow (front of a ship) tell as in bottle! Amusing to start with, but not so by the end of the evening. The constant cutting across announcing/Childsy interviewing too. Not my cup of tea. The riders deserve a huge amount of credit for the way they rode.I wasnt expecting to much, but they certainly got stuck in. Some terrific tussles.Well done to every one of them. The stadium itself has been transformed with a superb main stand, great viewing. Mark and his team have certainly worked very hard on that. I havent been to any of the other meetings in the UK this season, so have nothing to compare it to. Based on this meeting alone, Plymouth have certainly set a high standard for others to follow. I would give Mark and his team 99 out of 100. Sort out the presentation side of it and you would have had the 'perfect' speedway meeting. Oh, and if I could, I would happily shake Marks hand and congratulate him on,not only a job well done, but a job that British Speedway would have been proud of. Well done. Thank you for a very enjoyable nights entertainment.7 points

I wil tell you something folks I no Politician but goodness me I just listened to the most boring hour of recent weeks between 4pm and 5pm Prof Whitty and his slides and The PM bumbling on. Stop the World and let us all off LOL3 points

You need to turn your TV off. I think it is good that the sport is trying to stage meetings. As the winter begins to loom over us.3 points

SCB only took action when Michael transgressed which was their duty. Michael was riding at a time when not only were they many riders from the USA here but also a number of mechanics. Their attitude to smoking pot was very liberal, mostly coming from California, where you could get high just sitting in the stands at Costa Mesa. It was also a time when national newspapers took a significant interest in speedway, unlike now, and Michael's misdemeanours were always going to get coverage right across the media board. That doesn't detract from his huge talent but, a bit like George Best, his career went of the rails at times although, to the best of my knowledge, he never woke one morning with Miss World in his bed3 points

So then new restrictions on gatherings and the possibility of a 10pm curfew! Yet this country full of fools still believes they are acting in our best interests. Get real people and realise we are now living n a totalitarian state! Yes infections are rising but what matters is hospital admissions and more importantly deaths, which have fallen through the floor. So for those who agree with it then get your vaccination and microchip and the rest of us will continue to enjoy what freedoms left we have!2 points

It's true he was a bit of an idiot, but he seemed to be pulling himself together when he returned from his ban, only to have his accident soon after. I'd recommend you seeking out some of his races on film, he really was a talent.2 points

Think we will let Dave Goddard sort it out for us Just to clarify- i think who won the bonus point splits teams on equal points before race points Wroclaw got the bonus over Lublin Wroclaw over Zielona Gora Czestochowa over Wroclaw Czestochowa over Lublin Gorzow over Czestochowa Czestochowa over Zielona Gora Gorzow over Zielona Gora1 point

Well done Terry. Thanks for the clarity on GH result, yeah it was 2 - 0 . Was shocked to see the manner in which Bo was beaten. I remember Michael had a column in the Star and writing about the KL 27 - 51 victory at Waterdon Road. It must have been late 70s maybe. To those who haven't read the book on him ( and DVD ? ) i recommend.1 point

Very enjoyable meeting. Always feel like it could be such a great track with abit more dirt on it? Still plenty of passing and decent meeting. Why the hell did they use Bjerre as a tac sub and not Pedersen or Laguta mind? Strange one.1 point
-
Was ken bear a tac sub then cause that has to be one of the poorest team managers decision this season1 point

Heat 7 and their best rider appears. Joke. No surprise he is not on the pace. Who the hell is this joke of a team manager? Or don’t they have one?1 point

Must be a money issue. Batchelor would definitely strengthen this shower. Thing is the riders are not even close. 100 metres behind riders of the same calibre.1 point

Rybnik have no fight as a team or individually. They turn up defeated. Little passion and no motivation. A bunch of individuals. They need a Middlo to put a rocket up their jacksies. Pride in riding for their team, and pride in not cheating themselves with a lack of 100%. If I was a fan of this club I would ge hoping for a clear out bar one or two next season. They are destined to lose Lambert but some are just not pulling their weight. To be beaten is OK if you are giving all you have. Some clearly falling below this level.1 point

Speedway GB now confirmed Sales for British Final are SUSPENDED again, I tried to buy yesterday just as suspended for one reason and same today for another. Having read a ton of positive feedback about the Meeting at Plymouth last night ; I tried to book for their next Meeting at 9am this morning.. British Final in past 24 hours - available / suspended / available / suspended... (total confusion) Plymouth Speedway this morning for next meeting "we are seeking clarification of new Government measures due to be announced later today and if permissible will put tickets on sale ........as soon as possible" (clear information) Anyone watching news last night or this morning should have been on the ball that new Measures are inevitable. A Small Club is, The SGB isn't Why?1 point

I remember watching Mike when he was 14, flying around Saddlebow Rd as it was known then, I used to time him. He was close to the meetings race times, even then. Another thing that stands out is him practicing after a meeting before his comeback. I was standing next to Kelly and Shaun Moran, leaning on the little wire fence opposite the home straight bar. Can't remember which brother said it, but can still remember one saying "he's to fast" as Mike powered out of the 4th bend and his front wheel hovered 6 inches above the track, all the way down the home straight until he entered the first bend, for 4 or 5 laps.. Also remember his first meeting back at Lynn. He had Todd Whiltshire in his first ride. Todd was flying then and was a great trapper. Mike gated, and won by half a straight.1 point

After beating Chris Morton after a great battle (which included the only ever dead-heat of the competition) at the end of 1980, after a great year for Bo and the Hawks, We were eagerly anticipating his first defence against Lee. Michael was phenomenal and was crossing the finishing line while Bo was still coming out of the fourth bend for an easy 2-0 win..He also set the two fastest times of the season. He could've been the greatest ever if only etc...He was certainly the most naturally talented rider I've ever seen. The only other rider who came close was Darcy Ward imo.1 point

British speedway starting to grab straws in order to put on a meeting . whats more important , speedway or the health of the planet as a whole ? this thing is with us for the next four years at least according the people in the know . lets all get back in our caves and tough it out . as long as one human or animal has this bug , the human race is still in danger of being wiped out ..1 point

Now that I'm back at work I'm expected to wear a mask all day as I talk to and instruct members of the public at the tourist attraction I work at...and it's bloody annoying I have to say having to contantly breath in air that I have expelled thru' constant jabbering and makes the whole business of going about my working day uncomfortable and sweaty.1 point

He certainly is ( Andrew ) doing a smashing job with the place.... despite having to put up local vandalism at times... It's looking very smart now well done to him for keeping it going1 point
