  1. Don't think so when the stadium is empty... then if the handlers and trap loaders socially distance the risk is further limited... Honestly think all dog tracks will be looking at the various risks... lots of money generated from gambling... much less from Speedway I would suggest... Regards THJ

  5. A don't think ya wrong Ruff they might never get a vaccine and then we are waiting for it to burn itself out which as you state could take years... We ain't in a good place and these world governments need to start sorting themselves out starting with the Chinese one educating their own people with regard to wild animal markets and using various parts of other animals for medicine... it's the 21st century FFS a Tigers Todger ground up and taken as an aphrodisiac a mean to say... they can get Viagra over there why butcher a Tiger... No need... Regards THJ

  7. Honestly Bad news I'm afraid... No Speedway at Brough this season... its been taken out of the promotions hands... The dogs don't want to risk (or jeopardise) the bags meetings because if there is a Covid outbreak the place will be locked down for two weeks... So that's all folks... Roll on 2021 and hopefully a vaccine for this Covid carry on and back to some sort of normal and not this new normal hydraulics... Sorry to be the bearer of bad news Regards THJ Oh and just as a PS edit... Birmingham could be in the same situation because they have the same landlord...

  9. More importantly for the league all riders from both teams have to self isolate......If this happens in the UK with a late start anyway, what chances are there of finishing the season orderly ?

  11. I know we all want a few races to watch this WHATS left of the season but I think they need to cancel it & plan for 2021 with the teams as they are now providing the riders want to carry on that is

  12. How many times have we seen people in the pits not wearing masks correctly? Also the fans not adhering to the correct places in the stands? Surprised it's not happened before now...

  29. I agree. I know one or two here have said they are willing to risk it and attend meetings, but quite honestly if you have a job and risk having to go into self isolation because someone at the meeting had tested positive as the ruling stands, it is a big risk. OK maybe if you are a pensioner. You can afford to, but a younger person ?

  31. As much as I want speedway to happen this year, as like all of us, I'm missing it very much, but as hard a decision it must be more for the promoters due to financial difficulties it might put them in, sense must prevail, and write the season off immediately, for the good of everybody.

  32. Bluey Wilkinson and Eric Chitty only West Ham; Vic Huxley Harringay and Wimbledon, Frank Arthur Stamford Bridge and Harringay, Lionel Van Praag Wembley and New Cross, Roger Frogley Crystal Palace and New Cross, Sverre Harrfeldt Wimbledon, West Ham, Wembley

  33. While I wouldn't disagree, it has been mentioned a number of times how British speedway seems to rely on the help of a lot of people in the section of society most at risk. Plus a lot of supporters seem to be as well. The riders themselves should have no trouble, even if they have got Covid The big problem could also be with doubling up, riders that have to self-isolate riding for other teams, it all could 'spread' like wildfire, in that sense

  36. The first meeting you went to the 31- 43 contest Holloway scored five points from two rides then he broke a collarbone.Shields was different class in the 39 -39 draw i quite enjoyed my Groveway visits but sometimes the track was rough though.Milton Keynes when all fit and firing had a good top four Humphreys, Grahame, Harrison, Holloway but they were very rarely all available to click on the same day.

  37. New date for Gniezno round is Thursday July 23rd which is the day after the 4th round in Rybnik. The Bookmakers council has decided that the spread for Gniezno will stand and any bets already made can be edited before start time next Thursday( providing you are still in the comp after the Rybnik round the night before ). I will post the Rybnik spread later today.

  41. First see Penhall ride with Bast at White City in 1977 and i would never of thought he would of become a world champion by 1981.His first visit to Swindon netted him seven points with a heat win and he did look classy see him quite alot at Dudley and he really mastered that circuit his beating of Nielsen there in the helmet was a masterclass.

  44. Big Covid problem in Polish Speedway- Google translation. Due to the fact that one of the people from the staff staying in the machine park during the match PGG ROW Rybnik - FOGO Unia Leszno played as part of the 5th round of PGE Ekstraliga on July 10, has a positive result of the COVID-19 test, PGE Ekstraliga introduces prepared for such circumstance crisis procedures. A positive test result was attended by one of the people staying in the machine park during the PGG ROW Rybnik - FOGO Unia Leszno match of July 10. It is not one of the competitors, mechanics or training staff members. PGE Ekstraliga was informed about this fact on July 14 in the afternoon. Accordingly, in accordance with the crisis procedure prepared in advance and ready for such cases: - postponed matches of the 6th round of PGE Ekstraliga PGG ROW Rybnik - ELTROX Włókniarz Częstochowa (17 July) and FOGO Unia Leszno - RM SOLAR Falubaz Zielona Góra (19 July) - introducing mandatory home insulation from July 14 for all PGG ROW Rybnik and FOGO Unia Leszno players together with player mechanics and training staffs as well as all functionaries staying in the machine park (participants of the match of the 5th round of PGE Ekstraliga PGG ROW Rybnik - FOGO Unia Leszno with 10th of July) - a ban on all sports activities for players participating in the PGG ROW Rybnik match - FOGO Unia Leszno from July 10 - genetic testing for coronavirus for all PGG ROW Rybnik and FOGO Unia Leszno players together with mechanics and training staffs as well as functionaries in the machine park (participants of the 5th round match of the PGE Ekstraliga PGG ROW Rybnik - FOGO Unia Leszno from July 10) In accordance with WHO recommendations, genetic testing for coronavirus is carried out within 7-8 days of the potential contact with an infected person. Therefore, hoping that the match of the 5th round of the PGE Ekstraliga PGG ROW Rybnik - FOGO Unia Leszno took place on July 10, all tests for the participants of this match (players, mechanics, training staffs and functionaries in the machine park) will take place, in consultation with INVICTA, at the earliest on July 20. The costs of the tests will be covered by Speedway Extrastraliga. After obtaining negative test results, the PGG ROW teams Rybnik and FOGO Unia Leszno will return to the normal rhythm of the 2020 season in PGE Ekstralidze. Dates of outstanding matches with their participation will be set in a separate announcement by PGE Ekstraliga

  45. Part and parcel of being self employed I am afraid. Id suggest right now that minor sports like speedway are at the bottom of the ladder... more important businesses than speedway teams will be going broke and putting lots of people out of work.

  46. Pretty much the same for me. The recent rewind meetings have done little to rekindle any enthusiasm.
