What an insult. I remember every post I've made since....... Err...... Sorry, what was the question again?3 points

You have to hand it not only to Robert, but to his parents as well. They put the hours in and were dedicated from an early age. He travelled around in that camping van (when I saw them first) at the weekend getting him experience and not staying in the comfort zone. Rather like the Aussie riders. Of course not everyone is able to do that. But it seems to be paying off now and good luck to him and his parents for that3 points

I hope not, I know its unprecedented times but 6 of the 8 rounds of a world championship in one country would be a bit of joke.3 points

Remember him riding in the Kings Lynn team in 1968. It was when I got my first car (a Ford Prefect) and I started to make the weekly trip from my home in Norwich to Saddlebow Road, after the Norwich Firs Stadium had closed in 1964. I used the same Ford Prefect to go and support Howard Cole in his appearance in the World Final at Wembley, and fortunately it made it there and back without breaking down!2 points

Well Andy Warhol said we all get 15 minutes of fame. Mine's going to last a week. And in case you think I'm bragging, I ain't, I promise. My record in these competitions is not good. To make it to round 3 is an achievement in itself. To be top of the charts is unbelievable. Sorry to those who have dropped out and good luck to the survivors (as long as you stay behind me ). I must say that it does add an interesting dimension to the watching experience. Pity it's not real money.1 point

And the best of it was... After saying for around 2 laps that Emil was riding within himself, he then watched him fly around Laguta... And then summarised Emil's victory with......? "I rest my case"...1 point

At last a real Speedway meeting. excellent racing from the word go... interesting to see they have built a new stand on the back straight... augurs well for the future Bydgoscz worked out as my first league match many years ago and always have fond memories of my visits there1 point

Lahti went into the bend between Pedersen and Laguta. He shut off. Do not blame him.1 point

Fantastic heat 16. This track was always the jewel in the gp season when Mr Gollob ruled supreme. Great racetrack.1 point

Sam says Laguta and Emil have an arrangement. Emil then passes Laguta. Someone yank him off the TV. He is so bad.1 point

Rob Lambert definitely coming of age this year, got a real determination in his riding, looking good.1 point

No chance will Poland go down the route of UK with regards to guests.. Too much of a tribal emotional following to accept any of their riders representing any other team on an ad hoc basis.. Such is the depth of feeling, a few years ago, ZG fans were initially not happy to accept Darcy Ward as their own rider after coming from Torun, they even had very 'unfriendly' banners to 'welcome him', such was their dislike for him when he represented Torun.. Sponsors too wouldn't allow it. Imagine Woffy top scoring for another team and costing Betard their chance to be a sponsor of a play off team because Wroclaw didn't make it? They wouldn't touch the sport again with a barge pole.. The media also wouldnt allow it, far too much detailed coverage of the sport to try and pass off something as Mickey Mouse as Woffy, for example, being shared around the league.. And finally the governing body wouldn't allow it as it completely devalues their (currently) very important, and financially rewarding sporting competition. And no doubt at the same time blowing their own sponsorship of the leagues themselves by national companies, who wouldnt want to align themselves with something so contrived..1 point

While they haven’t broken a rule, they don’t need holder other than to make them stronger not because of quarantine rules of which is why the rule is there, this is just typical of speedway, they are the Poole of poland1 point

We will have to live alongside this virus for a good wee while, the economy gets boosted by leisure arenas opening, unless you want every sporting venue to lock its doors and never return you better hope things get back to normality sooner rather than later. Even the more moderate prem lge football teams cant make it pay with no fans going thru the turnstiles. im not the one being stupid1 point
-
Sorry but they have not done anything underhand with Holder- the Covid rules are perfectly clear which i have previously quoted. I certainly hope that it’s a one season rule only.1 point
-
Yes it was quite serious Steve, but Robert did say he felt he was very fortunate to come out unscathed generally in his career.1 point
-
Feel sorry for fricke but happy that Wroclaw are struggling, they have manipulated the rules to get chuginov at reserve and now brought in holder for no valid reason, exploiting a rule set for teams who may struggle to get riders because quarantine rules, they deserve to struggle1 point

I think I attended all of the New Cross home matches that year so I saw quite a lot of Geoff Penniket. I seem to remember him being one of the few riders who rode in a helmet with no peak. Cyril Roger was another. It's funny the things that I can remember from those bygone days when I can't remember what I had for breakfast - LOL.1 point

Depends on what the first meeting was like as to whether I would want to watch a second meeting, Prague GP can be iffy.1 point

Very nice unassuming person as well. Haven't seen him for a while but whenever I'm over at Kilburn I pop into the "Mouseman Visitor Centre" hoping to catch a chat with him. Remember the story about Maido when he was Team Manager of the "Dons" and after a meeting when he met up with some fans on the way back home from a meeting they were criticising him for a missed T/C sub move and he dropped his trousers in response and they all had a good laugh!1 point

Ian Cartwright 1974/82 at Halifax he started at Crewe , Cyril Maidment ( two spells ) 1951/1961 and 1969/71 Wimbledon he had spells at other clubs to.1 point

Little wonder speedway is perceived as being stuck in the dark ages when supporters with views like you are still around.1 point

Don't know what clubs can actually update their support on? They have no power nor do the sports governing body. Clubs do as they are told - irrespective of size or sport.1 point

Well had a visit today for a cuppa of our very own Chris Schramm.... He was looking well... still got that beaming smile and we had a good chat and a better laugh... He's doing well... keeping fit and busy.... and two hours went over in what seemed like 10 minutes... really pleased to see him and it brightened a crappy Monday... Regards THJ1 point

I have on the whole staunchly defended BSI to what i consider unfair criticism, but i do think they along with the FIM and the Wroclaw club should make an immediate announcemt regarding the GP there on August 1st. It is only 3 weeks away !!!!! The announcement in my view should be made in the next 24 hours. Hundred`s of Brits have tickets, flights and hotels booked and it`s just not good enough on this occasion !!!!1 point

Personally I thought Buzz turned back to ride a narrow back straight and caused the clash with Smektala who was minding his own business on the inside but can see why the Lezno man was excluded. Why was Pedersen being a plonker towards Smektala after heat 15?1 point

Would like to see it head on. I think he'd gone passed him, so it's his racing line. Maybe i'm wrong just way I saw it.1 point

In the UK your average earnings are about 3 times of that in Poland. So logically thinking you would pay roughly 3 times more for things in the UK than you do in Poland.1 point

Not jealous, I simply expect perfect speedway from Poland on perfect tracks, I certainly don't expect processional 'races'!! I'm obviously not emotionally attached to any Polish team so am watching it as a neutral ....1 point

I think Curtis sports are selling a programme( unofficial ) which has blank scorecards for all 5 rounds( they might have round 1 typed in). I am waiting to hear from our Austrian friends JK racecards as to if they will be doing them each round as previously.1 point
