Thought the match was pretty much 'standard fayre' for the Poiish Speedway I've watched the past three years.. And suitably represented why it is so good to watch.. Several heats late on were pretty much 'dead rubbers' from a match score perspective yet produced some of the fiercest, most committed racing you will see anywhere.. Lambert, I think, just got it wrong rather than anything 'naughty', and turned into the corner too early... He had though just gone through three laps of having Lebedevs all shapes underneath him so probably decided to take ownership of the inside himself when he got presented with the opportunity by his outside run. Rather than having another lap worrying about three riders rather than two!! It really is 'proper, hard racing' and you can see why riders who do it weekly can either go on to the top of the tree, or fail, get replaced and drift away to become one of the large pack of 'average riders'.. The reserves in particular have to learn very quickly, and it really is a huge opportunity for them given the rewards on offer if they come through their 'apprenticeship'. They also know that another rider currently behind them in the pecking order would love to take their position, and this shows massively in their racing, where very few allow themselves to be passed without a struggle... It truly can be a 'once in a lifetime' chance for many of them. As Polands dominance of the 'proper' SWC shows, growing up with all that intensity, hard (ruthless?) riding, 100% commitment needed and pressure on your place, in EVERY race, EVERY match, must help them massively when they reach World level racing.. Let's hope we can get a few more British lads to sample it and develop upwards to the highest level..4 points

Blimey Col you certainly see things differently from some. The Rybnik no 7 Kamil Nowacki was making his debut for the club after being loaned from Gorzow that morning.- obviously can`t get in his parent clubs team and i thought did really well. As for lambert correct decision, he might have been frustrated but turned left way to soon and Lebedevs had no where to go.3 points

On reading a tweet from hove greyhound stadiums it looks like all stadia are licenced via the sports ground safety authority. It looks like possibly owners of greyhounds and horses may be able to attend from july 4 and some sort of crowd allowed around a month or so after . Its a bit demoralising to see the public 40 deep at bournemouth beach flouting SD rules mind you2 points

Getting frustrating now with this glorious weather. How good would it be getting to Foxhall tonight? What’s even more frustrating is seeing packed beaches all over the country, being able to drink a pint in a pub next weekend and then go and sit in a Cinema and watch a movie, but not able to watch Speedway outdoors! The 2 meters rule being reduced to 1(plus) would surely make it even easier for the majority if not all clubs to implement social distancing in Stadiums?2 points

Reading the letter my wife received yesterday morning from the Government (She falls into the shielding category), realistically it won't be possible for her to attend speedway in August, which rules me out too. We can talk about sports stadiums putting in 1-metre guidance rules in place, which on paper isn't a problem, but in practice it is. In the case of speedway, there are only two stadiums she visits regularly with me, those being Mildenhall & Peterborough. We've now wouldn’t be able to go to the latter, because of the Blue Badge System, thats now in place. Mildenhall would still be a good chance for her to see some speedway, but I think we all know from places like supermarkets for example, that once folk are in store, it's a general free for all. So whilst in the case of her going to speedway, to ensure that 1-metre distance was observed by everybody, it would need a lot of stewards to ensure that happened, which of course isn't practical. In my wife's case, for medical reasons, she's not allowed to sit in the sun, and because of mobility issues, that just restricts her to the 1st/2nd bend area, which is our chosen location anyway at this particular venue. What of sports stadiums with grandstands? I sit in one seat, but the seats either side of me must remain empty, which is easy done, but what when people want to keep coming in an out for various reasons? What about the row in front of the one you're sitting in, most stadiums in every sport, you're knees are usually touching either the seat or the person in front of you, so to my mind that isn't workable either. What of the cleanliness and safety of toilets in stadiums? These are just my own opinions, and I'm sure many will disagree with them, and that of course is your right, but I just don't see how sport can start up with any real degree of safety still, as much as I'd love it to, as like everybody, I'm missing it.2 points

Shamek is a former GP rider too. He just seems well down on power and majorly low on confidence to when I remember him a few years ago. Getting replaced in his last two rides last night won't of helped that either! For what it's worth, I love the ruthless forceful nature of Polish speedway. Every race feels like it means something, you rarely see anybody bottle out of a move over there so the odd crash and spill is to be expected as there is not an inch given.2 points

Just finished reading the Tamworth addition of the Defunct tracks. Really interesting read as living in Tamworth I was aware of Old Deer Park but not the other track in the 30's Shame Tamworth went so quickly though fans not going when they became a Birmingham feeder side obviously did not help. Shows how times have changed as they closed due to low crowds of around 3,000, think some teams would love that figure now!1 point

Great article by Ove Fundin. Makes you wonder if Ove realises that the youths who spend so much money on all that equipment do so just for show. The highly decorated van indicating to those who don't know anything about speedway, that this must be a highly successful sportsman, famed throughout the motorcycling world. One could imagine those youths reading the article that lists Ove's achievements and the way he (and others) went about it and saying 'yes but we can swan around with all that paraphernalia looking the part, getting all the plaudits, without all that effort you put in'. I don't doubt that this crossed Ove's mind and I don't doubt that he realises that what he has said won't make any difference at all.1 point

Now you've broken the ice on this topic...... Can I recommend the trip includes :- 1) A visit to see where the Baden-Powell statue used to be. 2) A cruise round Poole Harbour which my Dad says was where the Japs bombed the harbour and led to the Yanks joining in on WWII.1 point

I only went to Reading in their last season when they dropped back into the then Premier League. I seem to recall going there 4 times that year with Somerset for a challenge which we got thumped in, won in the League Cup, won in the league (which I think was the last ever match at Smallmead?) and in the KO Cup on a very hot and sunny afternoon. Jason Doyle romped to a 21 point maximum in what I still regard as the best performance that I've ever seen, going from last to first in the space of a lap off 15 metres in heat 14 for an 8-1 with Matthias Kroger. Ahhhhhh they were the days.....1 point

A brilliant article in this week's magazine by Ove and Oaksie...worth the cost of the magazine on its own..1 point

I suppose so but all 5 probably would have had to have a strange match- good, cr&p, good, cr&p and then good. ZG used 4 on Monday against Czestochowa.1 point

Would have done, but already re arranged another holiday to this weekend unfortunately.1 point

No, riders would more likely pack in for this season at least.1 point

Poole have already done that by going Championship!!1 point

Im going to hedge my bets and say Chris Holder. Brother is present, TruPlant big holder sponsor, Poole asset so I'm sure Ford will say no worries to replace Josh G. Too many ticks to not be him.1 point

For me personally, going to my local speedway track is no more of a risk than queuing up at a local supermarket, or going into work. It could happen with the right precautions and restrictions in place. Getting the permission to start up again though, is a different matter entirely.1 point

For those people subscribing to Premier sports the following is how i see rounds 4 and 5 which are the weekends of 3rd/5th July and 10th/12th July.unfortunately Premier have taken a punt on when these matches will take place and not realising that the timings are decided by the Extraleague weekly( 2/3 weeks before the fixtures). Therefore there are errors on their schedules. It also appears that the Premier schedule changes more often than myself changing my socks !!! Round 4 Friday July 3rd lublin v Rybnik programme start time 4.30pm 1st race 5pm Eleven Sport 1 and Premier Sport ????- Delayed Friday July 3rd Gorzow v Czestochowa programme start time 7.15pm 1st race 7.30pm Eleven sport 1 and Premier sport 1 ( 7.30pm) Sunday July 5th Wroclaw v Zielona Gora programme start time 3pm 1st race 3.30pm N sport and Premier sport 2 (3.30pm) Sunday July 5th Grudziadz v Leszno programme start time 5.45pm 1st race 6.15pm N sport and Premier sport (delayed ) ??? Not sure how ‘in the know’ or knowledgable Dickson is but I think this is just misleading blustering and wishful thinking. He’s in a dream or should I say a nightmare and talking nonsense. Live sport, including speedway, with spectators attending is way way off and certainly will not be in the next month or so. Even when it is allowed, which will not be until a vaccine treating the virus is found or the spread of the pandemic has drastically improved, and considering the age demographic of supporters, many will not attend as they will not feel comfortable in crowds and many will have got out of the habit of going to speedway. The economic situation is a complete disaster, the UK is now plunging into a deep recession, just look at the news every day, with lots of businesses collapsing or on the brink of going bust, millions being made redundant and joining the massive list of unemployed, I fear many speedway clubs will go to the wall. This is not doom and gloom but sadly reality!1 point

Robert rightly excluded but there is no way on earth it was intentional.....it could have been him cartwheeling down the straight breaking bones and after the season he had with crashes last year he wouldn’t risk that. It was either a misjudgment or a momentary lack of control, I suspect the former.1 point

Having all the rounds in Poland could have a detrimental effect on the Polish riders as there will be so much pressure on them to win1 point

I think we have our wires crossed, what I’m saying is that the integrity of the series will be compromised by having all the rounds in one country. And I agree, with the time left and the restrictions in place there can’t really be rounds in multiple countries due to the virus, hence my point about having a ‘World Final’ or leaving it until 2021. Others will disagree which is fine but that’s what I think and believe.1 point
