And no other clubs in the history of speedway have manipulated the (deliberately?) ambiguous rules for their own end?3 points

If only we had realised at the time, the amount of conniving & underhandedness the result of that final would cause .The shenanigans that followed had a huge impact on British Speedway, & not for the better I might add.3 points

You reckon I don't back down? You are the one who keeps the grudges going, despite the fact that I have never considered us to "be at war". If I believe in something, why should I back down? At least I use fact, logic, reason, and statistics to substantiate my viewpoint. If YOU believe that strongly in something, it would probably help your case if you attempted the same, rather than resorting to name-calling and insults, ridiculously false accusations, and downright lies. To say that I have "involved" norbold is downright stupid. Norman is a well-respected and mature individual who is old enough to make his own mind up about things. When I was going through stuff with gustix, YOU (as a complete outsider) - decided to get involved - totally of your own free will. To suggest that Norman DIDN'T do a similar thing, and/or is my puppet, is a despicable claim, and you should be ashamed of yourself. It is not a case of "loyalty" to me, merely a case of reading - and comprehending - what is there in black and white.2 points

Spent a bit of time messing about with different numbers and found a few things more. I've not worked out the loan listing. See examples below 4th number from the end is to do with transfer list/retired list etc.. 1 = transfer listed 2 = retired listed 4 = unattached listed 3rd number from the end is loan cost 13,0,0,23,22500,7.54,13,8.54,0,0,1,2500,0,0 - Brady Kurtz 1,1,0,28,4600,4.62,7.39,0,0,0,1,500,0,0 - Steve Worrall - Loan 1,0,0,21,0,2,3.12,2,0,0,2,0,0,0 - Jack Smith - Unattached 4,0,1,41,12000,7.78,13,7.78,0,0,4,1500,0,0 - Bjarne Pedersen - Ret2 points

Sid, it's not a case of taking sides. What Chunky said was: Jansson was world class, but not at the very top echelon (Collins, Olsen, Mauger) His world pairs titles were good achievements, BUT for the most part the riders he beat were not of top quality Jansson probably would have reached the very top class, but nooone knows for sure. Those were all pretty reasonable points, you can disagree if you like, but you seem to have taken offence to them. They were not aggressively made, and that is why Norbold, and I add myself, think you are out of line in your responses. Nothing personal, we have had great discussions on here over the years and I have a great deal of respect for your views on speedway matters, but here I think you are in the wrong. As for Gustix, it's admirable you stand up for him because you perceive him to be bullied. But, he has managed to annoy many on here, including some of the most mild mannered and polite members of the BSF to the point they have blocked him. You have to ask why this is. As an example, he has recently decided to respond to most of my posts with a laughing emoji. These were, in my view, perfectly reasonable posts. Why would someone do that? Similarly, he has been asked many reasonable questions, which he simply ignores, and instead posts a new set of links. Why would someone who regularly talks up their credentials as a speedway reporter, then claim not to recognise photos of riders like Ronnie Moore, Ivan Mauger, Plechanov etc? It is very very sad in my opinion that he chooses to act in this way, rather than actually try to contribute. None of us know the guy in "real life" so it's no personal vendetta against him, I think we all just wish he would stop acting like such a complete cockwomble.2 points

Quite right, Sidney. I am an idiot with no mind of my own and easily swayed by a man I have never met. I was totally unable to read all the posts on this Forum and make up my own mind and just fell under Chunky's Svengali-like influence. It's very instructive to learn what your real opinion of me is.1 point

Didn't realise this was my thread from years ago! Amazing to see the progress being made. I'd love to give it a go, but I don't have the game and would need to get it on Windows 10, could anybody point me in the right direction of the actual 'Speedway Promoter' file so I can get that downloaded and try the other links to get it working. Much appreciated!1 point

Yeah good finds, So the First number is nationality, England = 1 on this occasion. Denmark = 4 etc. Second number I think determines wether the rider is listed for loan or to buy 1 = Loan, 0= Transfer (Also seen 2 appear here a couple of times) Other numbers you'll probably know already like 4th = Age, 5th = Price to buy. Followed by the averages.. I was able to place a 4 in the 4th number from the end and a 1 in the second number on everyone, and they all appeared in the 'Retired' list! All the 40+ random riders appear in order from Row 986 down, you can remove them from the game easily enough too.1 point

Look John, we have had our problems, but I don't dislike you. I dislike the way you carry on sometimes, when we should just be discussing speedway, and you really don't do yourself any favours. I have conversed with you on a number of occasions, on BSF posts, FB groups, and by PM on both, and much of it is me offering friendly advice - which you tend to ignore. I have told you many times that you are (and should be) a valuable member of this forum. Would I do that if I really had a problem with you? Yes, a few days ago, I was annoyed with you. Why? Because you were being rude and very ignorant to an individual who asked you legitimate questions. I questioned when you posted Mike Kemp's photo, after the discussion we had about copyrights. I wasn't rude or aggressive, and I wasn't making fun of you; I simply made a friendly suggestion that you indicated that you had permission (to save any hassle on here). You got in a huff over that, for some reason. I'm sorry, but it still shocks me (and many others on here) that you didn't recognise Plechanov, Moore or Mauger. However, you got in a huff over that. It is true that you have contradicted yourself several times regarding your career/non-career as a speedway journalist. If you contradict yourself like that, don't be surprised when people mock you. When you have genuine questions, I am happy to help wherever possible - as I am when ANYBODY needs assistance. I was grateful when you corrected one of my recent posts - and I acknowledged it. I genuinely am (I know Sidney will disagree) a nice guy, and will help anyone in any way I can. I just have a low tolerance for stupidity...1 point

Well Ford hasn't seen any of my cash since the fateful winter of discontent & I used to visit quite often prior to that. I doubt that I'm the only one that has given him the cold shoulder either .1 point

Don't know who Simon is? Lovely bloke with "interesting" views on homosexuals, muslims, immigrants. Used to post on here lots, until people called him out for his bigotry and he started crying about it, especially when Admin wouldn't stick up for him. I thought you might know him from the way you regularly tag him in Facebook posts and he replies to you. Might be one of those things you did then forgot about? As for Barry Butterworth, I stand by my assertion that the average member of the NZ public wouldn't know who he is. A much more reasonable assertion in my view than a retired speedway journalist claiming not to recognise Ivan Mauger (who coincidentally, the average member of the NZ public would recognise) or Plechanov (top rider in an era he worked at the speedway star). Would you disagree?1 point

Are they ones your mate Simon belongs to? I can imagine what they are like. Nice the two of you have each other to chat to about the failings of admin of sites like FB and BSF...1 point

The street adress of the track was Gema-Kjells väg which doesn't seem to exist anymore (doesn't show up on Google maps, eniro maps, hitta, here wego.....) but I think I found the former location of the road and the track on Open Street Maps. https://www.openstreetmap.org/search?query=Gema-Kjells väg#map=19/57.70181/11.86429 Transferred too google maps: https://www.google.com/maps/place/57°42'05.2"N+11°51'47.0"E/@57.7014418,11.8608573,815m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m6!3m5!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d57.7014389!4d11.863046 A large logistics warehouse so close to the port IMO seems like a reasonable choice compared to an old speedway track. There is however a folkrace track and a go cart track about 4-5 km north west of the old Arendal track which is an area that might be suitable for a speedway track. Sort of to put all motorsport in the same place (pretty much like it is in Eskilstuna) rather then having it dotted here and there.1 point

Can you give a date for when the 2010 Final will be shown? There should be a lot of interest in that one.1 point

We had it once Mike. We called it the National League. How it was allowed to be sold down the river in the name of amalgamation and the needs of one club in the nineties is still a mystery.1 point

Not sure where you got that idea from, but I will give you some stats. 91,000 Americans have died from Covid-19. 640,000 Americans die from cancer - every year. 647,000 Americans die from heart disease - every year. The vast majority (over 90%) of deaths from Covid-19 have been over 65 and/or suffering from underlying health conditions. These are not indicators of a disease that is likely to threaten civilisation.1 point
