The way Aron Summers rode last year, to me, would be the perfect choice , I would hope the management feel the same ,he was out standing, if he is available I would grab him with both arms, would be a great reserve pairing home and away jimg5 points

I had a look in at the track last Saturday and spoke to Razor, Him and Jamie Courtney Had put in a full week at the track. Track looks wide, some of the cambers have changed quite a bit, he said they still had a lot of work to do building the track up but the weather hadn’t stopped them, a new fence has been fitted from the pits to the football tunnel 4 inches higher, and the track is being built up to meet it, this he says will help the riders taking away the dip that was there and making a natural camber to run water off.3 points

I used the link from the BSPA site but I suspect they still have a link to the old site! I will try a Google search for the new one. EDIT:- The new site works well, just a shame the BSPA are behind the times for not the first time. It would be even better if they could publish the correct start time for meetings! Good luck to Rob and everyone at Newcastle Speedway in 2020.3 points

Ulrich confirmed for the Ben fund meeting. If he was the last rider you'd think he'd be at press & practise instead?2 points

Tim Dixon will ride in Berlin tonight, despite having stitches in his thigh after a training crash in Sweden. Good luck Tim2 points

Harris & Nicholls get a small discount based on previous NL experience so yes they can now fit Summers if they choose to do so.2 points

He or they may of put a bit more effort into the 2020 team make up but the first season has left everyone vary of him, the BB issue isnt good and for there sakes the team needs to distract people from this, Buster spent good money last season on equipment and it resulted mostly in a poor indifferent track that didnt produce the entertainment most associate with the showground track, if he gets the track right and the team does well it will help bring some around, As to the new fence i wondered why there was no more palletts for sale signs on the A 47 these days.1 point

From three weeks ago: PANTHERS PONDER NEW CLUB ASSET Thursday February 06, 2020 PETERBOROUGH have hinted at the possibility of a newcomer to British racing coming to the club this year. Talks are ongoing with several riders as the city side look to put the finishing touches to their side with three slots remaining. Club owner Keith Chapman has again thanked fans for their patience as the new season approaches. He insists there’s no need to panic and discussions will continue into next week. But the prospect of a new club asset who has never ridden for a British club is a realistic one at the lower end of the side. “We have contacts in Denmark and Sweden,” he said. “And at the lower end of the team we would look at the possibility of strengthening our asset base. “It’s something every club needs to do, to satisfy the requirements for a retained list of assets and I can confirm one of the permutations we are looking at includes a new rider who has never ridden for Peterborough or for any British club for that matter. “I would like to thank the fans for being so supportive and patient and I would like to think now we are into February the wait won’t be for much longer. “I would also like to again offer my sincere thanks to Steve Thompstone at Crendon Timber for his team sponsorship and Michael Tomalin at City Auction Group for the club sponsorship. It’s very much appreciated and invaluable.” Chapman fully understands the frustration expressed by some Crendon Panthers fans on social media. He said: “I understand everyone wanting news yesterday and I can sense the frustration in some supporters which I totally understand. “But we have to continue to explore every avenue and come up with what we believe is the best combination of three riders for Peterborough Speedway. “There has been a couple of surprises in terms of riders who have been in touch and we just need to piece together the best team we can for the club.” PETERBOROUGH Speedway are backed by Crendon Timber as team sponsors and City Auction Group as club sponsors.1 point

Looking at the aves Nicholls did get the 2.5% reduction last season! I was sure he didn't qualify for it but he defo deserves it along with any other British rider!1 point

BSPA website (not for the first time!!) is incorrect. As you say 5pm start with gates open at 3pm. Adults £10, OAP/Students £5, Kiddie Winks FREE. You can also purchase VIP Hospitality for £30.1 point

Yes he will be a major asset when Peterborough visit Monmore, rode very well for Poole when he guested for us there and I thought he did well for Wolves when he rode for them.1 point

An ageing team but nevertheless a lot better than I think most expected. It should be happier home fans this term with a genuine number 1 and always a strong reserve whether that be Nicholls or MPT or someone else!1 point

Following recent signings I stick by the above. Going for - Swindon Belle Vue P'boro Sheffield Ipswich Kings Lynn Wolves Think P'boro look good, bags of experience which usually means the team starts the season strong but can run out of gas, just hope NKI's schedule doesn't mean he'll miss too many fixtures. Andersen needs to stay fit. Play-Offs, likely. Not so sure about Witches, it looks allot better than the team they started last season with, who I thought would be the whipping boys of the league yet they made the playoffs. Hope not too much is expected of Crump after being away for 8 years but he was a class act so may well end up as Witches #1 And fair play to them giving Kemp a chance at reserve. Play-Offs, unlikely.1 point

It does look a dads army side but must get in the top 4, should always have one really strong reserve1 point
-
Good signing, definitely better than his current average and should clean up at reserve.1 point
-
This team all at there prime would win this league by a mile sadly most are well past there peak and on the downward slope - but the standard of British speedway now should still make the play offs1 point

I remember Soldier Boy at all Hyde Road meetings after I started going in 1978...Ole Olsen was certainly his favourite from what I remember and I can recall Olsen winning the second half at Hyde Road and going to the fence to give Soldier Boy his trophy...Always stood at the tapes and was very vocal..1 point

Despite all the crap, and I admit the BB badge thing isn't good, he's the only one to buy a club and put money into it. Despite all the flack last season and the fact he lost money, he looks like he's trying to put a top 4 team together for 20201 point

If its Nicholls and Ulrich and nicholls isn't so hot at home then give him 3 rides, scott away from home potentially having 7 rides at wolves, ipswich etc is a good weapon1 point

And a certain scottish referee gets his nose in! And to think it was a celabration of speedway.1 point

I think you’ll find that there are promoters licensed as such at more than one track.1 point

I am hearing that interest in this matter is spreading wider and could result in even more negative publicity. Looks like management may not escape unscathed. Hope they have got a better explanation than they have come up with so far.1 point

Not too fussed about the top bods getting into the stadium. That's the way that things usually work and I'm ok with that. I am concerned about who is excluded and why and who is let in at the expense of those excluded.1 point

Seems perfect proof that the club was/is and will remain bigger and more important than any individual. Perhaps those previously offended in the past and thus continue to stay away from race nights need to understand their ego/pride is the reason they are now staying away which is a shame because if last season is anything to go by they are missing exactly what they wanted in the first place. i.e. many good nights of speedway and an incredible season of success.1 point
-
When you look at this Wolves side for me it has a nice balance to it, a definite playoff position awaits yet some muppets on here are more concerned about the averages.1 point

Not sure of the negativity surrounding Pijper's signing, I think he'll do a good job!1 point
