I think you Diamonds fans need to take a breathe and be thankful you have a new promotion, team manager and team .A couple of months ago it looked like speedway was going to be lost on the Tyne ,so be patient as your team due to the uncertainty has had to have the pick of the riders left after all sides had virtually picked there riders . Support Rob Grant or speedway will be lost ,as I know only too well when Hull Vikings closed a lot of years ago . I know get my methanol fix at Scunthorpe Scorpions alongside my dad aged 80 ,so give it time and support and good luck to all associated with the Diamonds for the 2020 season12 points

Lucky escape really. Surely it's not good to be associated with an operation that treats its disabled customers so shabbily, with weak reasoning and then isn't big enough to admit to a rethink to extract themselves from the mess they created for themselves.4 points

Honestly Picking up a previous poster's post 3 times in your original post and having to post the same crass post twice within minutes is something an 84 year old would do... Regards THJ4 points

I really do not think management care or even realise the bad feeling they have created over the Blue Badge issue2 points

He will be 30 next Septmber. One rider who doesn't have PL place, and I don't why, is Josh Pickering.2 points

What diffence does it really make? Either way He isn't going to come back and not put 100% in. It might actually be easier for him if his son is over. One thing is for sure he'll be as committed and probably more so than some of today's star riders who are chasing Polish money and GP points.2 points

It didn't take long. I looked it up several years ago, when they were doing the initial selling, and I'm pretty sure I did post it at the time. Do you have an attitude problem in real life or is it just on the internet?2 points

Was at rye house yesterday with my son for a practice I must say they are doing a lot of great work off track and it’s looking good and a lot has changed since the last time we were there a few years ago ,the track was perfect and a pleasure to ride a near perfect track according to my son 98%(a little more shale on it Would have been 100% lol) considering the way the weather had been the last few weeks and will provide great racing soon so whoever is doing the track there i take my hat off to you , it was worth the very long 820 mile journey and they are very hopeful that there will be a team coming to the tapes next season1 point

In fairness it must take lot of time to evolve and execute the strategy of excluding Blue Badge holders without actually saying so. Small wonder that there is insufficient time to deal with such mundane matters as sponsorship.1 point
-
Yet i'm sure they'd be the first to moan in the press for lack of sponsorship once things go wrong.1 point

It was a record for the Ben Fund. They called themselves "The Rivals". The record was called "Speedway" with a B-side called "Hoskins Still Rides" It was Bert Harkins, Graeme Stapleton, Peter Collins, Jim McMillan, John Louis, Scott Autrey, Dag Lovaas, Nigel Boocock, Terry Betts, Pete Smith, Martin Ashby, Malcolm Brown, George Hunter1 point

They almost certainly realise it but care not a whit! If you don't agree, you are wrong. Simple really.1 point

Nicholls would be a superb reserve. If these two complete the team it’s a play off team IMO. I’d even fancy you getting victories at Foxhall with Nicholls getting 7 rides. As long as he’s replacing Harris1 point

Good to have jason crump back . who cares what the reasons are going to be good to watch one of the sports world champion s looking forward to watching him and mr pedersen at Sheffield1 point

i am not against sponsorship, all I wanted was an honest answer which I got from the club. You will note that I did not put the wording of my request on the forum and I was fair to the club by putting the fair reply on the forum.1 point

I very much doubt long standing loyal supporters like Grachan or any of the others including me who you have picked fights with in the past would be seen dead with you at the speedway, so don't flatter yourself bus-boy.1 point

MIKE: Are you bringing the family over this summer? JASON: My son Seth has one more year to do at school and my wife Melody will hopefully come over five or six times during the season. https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/q-a-with-new-ipswich-witch-jason-crump-1-65235641 point

Correct. And let's be honest, it is Seth being in Europe that's the reason for Jason coming back. We have to thank Ipswich for making this financially viable for him1 point

Rather irrelevant as it doesn't make a regressive uncaring decision any better. The disabled generally have a pretty hard time with often not too much to look forward to so they'll often go the extra mile, however difficult, for something that they enjoy watching if not getting to and from. Then responsible organisations make further reasonable adjustments to make their customers/visitors visits more pleasurable, they don't remove long term concessions without trying to fix any problems or giving a better explanation than what we've had from Panthers management. It's not an experiment for them to justify their backward step.1 point

In a massive stadium like EOES it is entirely unbelievable that any caring person should have even though of let alone implemented the vendetta re Blue Badge holders.1 point

Reading Jason Pipe's comments on Newcastle's team he thinks Claus Vissing can put a point and a half on his 8.43 ave and James Wright can put at least 3 points on his 4.00 ave! Diamonds could challenge for play-offs of those predictions come true!1 point

Can't expect Jason to he successful this year as he has the weakest team in the league!1 point

I have followed the Stars the whole length and breath of this country. I cant think of a track I haven't visited during the countless years I've supported this wonderful sport. Too right, once I was the most ardent of Stars fans and would argue the point to the end, but as time goes bye you see life differently. Going to speedway matches was once the be all of everything, it dictated your moods, it define the whole week. It was the catalyst of your whole being. How sad was I , that I allowed it to govern my life for so long. My love for fast motor sport is as evident as ever, but now realise it has to be put into prospective. Now I see the sport as it really is and understand the lack of importance is a reflection of how the world see it. Gone are the days when it challenged Football in relation to supporting numbers, Fans stay at home now, it is fast disappearing because costs haven't been controlled. Probably the bikes are now faster, the heats are quicker, and the riders are better, but the race meetings are not like they use to be. The atmosphere has gone, the excitement is missing the crowds have all but gone . So if it is possible to go to a variety of venues to get my dose of yesteryear, then believe me I will go whether the Stars are riding there or not.....1 point

Not sure of the negativity surrounding Pijper's signing, I think he'll do a good job!1 point
-
The fact he is British has very little to do with it, it’s more that he has been around for years and still can’t gate, and therefore isn’t consistent or reliable enough.1 point

Your Grandad was a legend Ben. Len was involved helping the promotion in 2000 when they had the temporary track to lay every week. He took on the stadium lease the same year but didn't take on sole promotion until 2001.....I think. Others would now better than me.1 point

Yep I'm looking into piggy bank to find funds to support all the northern teams and gp at Cardiff and Warsaw, still a speedway fan but no home team !!!1 point

Too busy helping out at the stadium, looking forward to seeing our season tickets, checking that our tigers jackets will last another year, planning our holidays so we can support our team home and away. I could go on, just excited that's not long before the season starts. Hope all speedway fans have a great time supporting their team.1 point

I think the management/promotion need to be a bit more vocal with the public and Peterborough speedway could be the place to be on a Thursday night. It’s a shame as they don’t seem interested. My company has emailed Peterborough speedway twice offering sponsorship and after w while we had a reply from Carl asking if he could ring us, we provided a phone number and havnt heard anything since. Either the club has loads of money or they just can’t be bothered!0 points

My mistake - I had his figure from his Ipswich matches! Would require one more change to make Bellego fit then.0 points
