Theo came to Berwick in 2018 halfway through the season, and thanks to his performances Berwick ended up 5th just missing out on playoffs by 1 point. Replacing Danny was never going to be easy as Danny was a one-off great rider, character, showman. Hopefully, Theo will do a good job and Scunthorpe have a good season.6 points

It's not baffling at all, it's completely natural to develop an affinity with the team you pay to watch every week.4 points

Not sure of the negativity surrounding Pijper's signing, I think he'll do a good job!4 points

Pipey is a good bloke when you know him,he’s all about speedway.ive known him help riders out in the past financially out of his own pocket.dont knock the guy he will give it his all.3 points

Spot on Barry bishop is I think the only man for the job, would be perfect. Would move the league forward.3 points

So we’ll need a new man in charge and inevitably new ideas! If he can cope with the workload I think there’s only one man for the job. That is Barry Bishop! If that’s a conflict of interest then I think there’s another obvious appointment, if he has enough time on his hands: Connor Dugard!2 points

Brace yourselves for all the long winding press releases from your new manager that make it all about himself2 points

People saying he's not a good manager. Why not give the bloke a chance or even more see how the team performs because if they are not good then who will the fans turn on Grant and the rest of the people involved ?as Jason wasn't there when the new team was picked.2 points
-
It's like when the team was announced a few on here and other social media & here say grapevine rubbish or is it rumour rubbish can't think which 1 is the most negative... But let's give Jason a chance & see what he can do.. I know for a fact he will tell it how it is as he's a decent bloke even for a boro fan.. so let's get behind all at the club & support it big time & with positive response from the terraces hopefully it will be repaid from the lads on track... Smetana incidentally scored a decent 12 points in France last week but I ain't sure of the quality of riders he was up against but I do know that Adam Ellis & Dimitri berge were in the meeting..2 points

personally believe Northern junior league is the better format with 125s and 500s as it allows kids to be in the team format. done wonders for my lad who misses out this year due to being on a 250. shame the mdl sdl don't run a similar format as there is a huge number of the smaller capacity riders in the south that would of then alleviated some of the issues regarding riders having multipul teams and the reliance on older riders. ps I don't have any issues with the age thing but its all in the name junior league or development league it has to be about the future.2 points

Clearly management have a far better understanding of the problems of Blue Badge holders than even the badge holders themselves as they now feel that they are more than capable of walking 4/5 times the distance required to qualify. "Take up thy bed and walk" must be the latest buzz phrase. I am expecting that messrs Johnson, Pratt& Chapman to embark on the same walk, together with referee, visiting promoter etc.IE all but riders vans not being allowed inside the stadium2 points

As they have done since 2010. Hopefully they will be left alone to continue for another ten years, too!2 points

Its not only the NL that needs to breakaway from the BSPA, however as a minimum the League needs to make its own decisions not have them forced upon them by an organisation that has an entirely different agenda to the NL.2 points

Any rider coming in who didn't ride in CL last year would have a 1.6 x wouldn't they? based on PL average. Tungate would be on 10.54!!2 points

So sorry to hear that. I became quite friendly with Len over the years. He was always a very happy and cheerful sort with a great sense of humour. I used to enjoy our little get-togethers. Still, one thing I suppose you can say was that he had a good innings and was still fit and with-it almost to the end. R.I.P., Lenny. You've earned it.2 points

He's already said elsewhere that one of the management team banned him anyway and even if that wasn't the case then while the current Blue Badge situation continues he couldn't attend anyway. Therefore it's not logical to suddenly roll over so easily without a better reason than that given.2 points

Yep good luck Jason nice to see Rob acted quickly to appoint a new manager at a time when he must have an awful lot on his plate... New owner new team new manager new web site new catering new roof on the office and a new floor too new track fence going in along with new drainage and some new track staff to boot... it's all taking shape... isn't It? No need for the doom and gloom "things can (and are) getting better" are they not? I'm sure there will be a million things on Rob's to do list and I hope he doesn't over stretch himself... sometimes New promoters want to change to much to quickly and they can miss some of the smaller more important points... All we need to do as fans is turn out in force to back the guy and show him that he made the right choice taking the Diamonds on... let's hope he can make a few Bob and build on what he inherited... which wasn't much to be fair to him... So again good luck to all the promotion here's hoping it works from day one... Regards THJ2 points

Well that is somewhat surprising reading that Seth still has a year in school. My understanding was that he was coming over this year. Makes Jason’s decision even more intriguing actually, he’s upping sticks again well away from family to race. He must certainly be keen for this and makes it purely a racing decision rather than a family one. Good luck to him.2 points

Pedersen has always used hard riding to get past riders ever since he made his UK debut in 98. Very good gater but also a terrific racer , whether that’s using force or not. Have seen him make some absolutely breath taking passes during his time.2 points

Despite not being a GP rider Nicki had the 12th highest average in the Polish top flight last year. He is still one of the best riders in the world.2 points
-
Maybe not but my point still stands, the overall cost increase would not be excessive, particularly if the extra rides are replacing a 1-5 rider and not the other reserve.1 point
-
Reading Jason Pipe's comments on Newcastle's team he thinks Claus Vissing can put a point and a half on his 8.43 ave and James Wright can put at least 3 points on his 4.00 ave! Diamonds could challenge for play-offs of those predictions come true!1 point
-
But if Hans is getting seven rides at reserve and scoring big points someone else won't be scoring (injury, poor form etc) so the overall additional cost isn't excessive1 point

Tickets go on sale normally about 2 weeks before the league fixtures- as it`s week 1 that might stretch to 3 weeks. I would suggest you create an account here https://bilety.wts.pl/ (if you haven`t got one already) so you can buy as soon as they go on sale.1 point

No mention of Roy Clarke on the website? I may have missed something on the previous 113 pages that mentioned this (come to think of it Jason should fit in well......)1 point

Its seems like this appointment has been welcomed with mixed feelings, I can't comment as I know very little about the guy. Could be interesting.1 point

Credit to the oft and unfairly maligned Laurence for that. Just hope there are a few other non Premier Teams who will host a meaningful MSDL. IOW and Plymouth will hopefully continue in some form with MSDL but hard to see where other Teams may come from. It seems as if the Northern Clubs are unaffected and running their own version similar to last year.1 point

Sadly i fear Pipe can see the way the NL is heading and wisely took the chance to move on. The league does need to break away from the BSPA and be allowed to function for the benefit of all clubs and the riders within. Never agree with age limits though, being good enough is all that matters and is all that is required to drive the standard up.1 point
-
Nicki and Jason Doyle should be the top two riders in the league this year without a doubt. Crump could come back and shock us all. I think (and hope) he will do well but if his average is similar to Nicki’s then he’s done incredibly well or Nicki has had a stinker of a year. Its similar to a boxer who has been out of the ring for years, your body changes and you forget what it’s like to be punched or slog it out for 12 rounds even if you can still do the business on the pads. Will be interesting to see how Crumpy fares after his first fall.1 point

Very disappointing for everyone but probably a blessing in disguise for Somerset given his average.1 point

I'm not holding my breath there. I'm still pretty stunned at the pulling of the petition off the back of one conversation with zero details whatsoever made public. After all that fuss aswell. Sadly sums up things over the years in speedway - those on the inside are quite happy to clam up when pushed for details from the paying public.1 point
-
Even if the track has changed drastically, which mostly they won't have, he can set up a bike to be spot on after one race while less experienced riders will be chasing the set up all night.1 point

What a shame we've dropped down a division this season. We're going to miss out on seeing the Dirty Dane and Crumpy ride at Wimborne Road. Both past there best but well worth watching all the same. Matt and Danny F must be at least a little gutted. Just saying1 point
