Its also cheap and very easy to put signs up for each home meeting that shows exactly where BB holders are to park there vehicles and how to get there, it sounds like the BB parking in the past hasn't been very well organised, For every BB holder that now stops going there could easily be at least 5 others that dont attend also which will affect the attendance further Think Carl Johnson needs to be educated more about the struggles a disabled person faces to continue to get some enjoyment out of life.3 points

I have skimmed through the last few pages. Have Peterborough provided any official word on this? I feel the frustration of any BB holder but I can’t help but think the gun is being somewhat jumped here? How do we know Peterborough speedway won’t be providing a shuttle service? Have I missed something?3 points

Sounds like Gordon Kennett may have a spin at Arlington on a Weslake upright engine with the old GK red and black colours, bike sorted by Gordon and Steve Weatherly. Great to see the master have a few laps again if it can be sorted..2 points

Looking forward to the Gems matches. Some really talented youngsters to see before they (hopefully) become massive stars. I think it's probably the future sustainable level for the Diamonds tbh. Interesting move by the new promotion. However, hopefully the double headers won't be marathons. The danger being that those not inclined to hang about for a half hour of track grading between matches or for 4 hours plus to see 30 mins of action will have had to pay £3 more for nothing extra. Regardless of any centre green displays or ability to buy fresh meat produce, it could end up being a massive turn off for some. Intend to get both matches done in a maximum 2 and a half hours please.2 points

It’s like the film GroundhogDay - here we are 12 months later and the Promotion are acting exactly the same just different problem this time!2 points

Neither of those should be without a team place because of foreign riders in the first place2 points

No you do still have Somerset v Glasgow, check the fixtures. Eastbourne v Poole is the 2nd round. It exactly the same as the original draw except Newcastle and Poole swapping places.2 points

Not a good experience for the user IMO. All things Newcastle, be it Diamonds, Gems or Sapphires, should all be on the same website with different Tabs or contained in a Drop-down. Add to that the potential extra cost of two or three websites, to the site hosts, is silly.2 points

Bloody ridiculous attitude to take, because all the person on the gate taking the money has to do, is check the photo on the Blue Badge to confirm that person is in the car. But forgetting all that, I thought this decision had been taken due to Health & Safety reasons, so the promotion want to get their stories right before Mr Johnson makes comments like those above. I wonder how any of them would feel if they had serious health issues or general disabilities.2 points

Had there been such an intention they could well have nipped the whole thing in the bud by announcing at the time.2 points

The fact that the KOC draw has been tampered with at all just shows the amateurish mess we are in at times.2 points

No, I don’t agree that youngsters should have a two year cushion at reserve, because it gives a big advantage to those teams lucky enough to have the best youngsters. I would though be happy for new averages for youngsters (new 2 pointers under 23) not to take effect until half way through the season. And no foreigner should be allowed an average below 5. If that were the case both Nathan Greaves and Danyon Hume would have CL jobs.2 points
-
I think it should go back to what it once was a 6.00 point average then you would not be getting average imports taking places off of our lads. Will Macdonald,Zeleher,( if he gets a place) Cook,Thompson ( etc) be averaging six this year.Do you not agree that lads like Palin should have a two year cushion at reserve help them to develope and progress at there own pace.2 points

There is a saying which I am unable to recall to the effect that evil will happen if the majority stay silent. Could not be more true of the Blue Badge situation at Panthers. It has run its course and people getting tired and no longer interested exactly what the bosses were counting on. I urge you all to bombard the club with E Mails . I see Mr Rising from Speedway Star whist content to constantly give his views on Brexit is less forthcoming on blue Badge holders being screwed2 points

This should be done from the off as it has been made many seasons before. The first part was no parking on the grass (should apply to all cars), no driving over the grass (should apply to all cars), Blue badges on display. The second problem is location: the Arena car park isn't ideal (but very welcome so let's not start that argument again) which is why many seemed to park on the access road approaching the stand or other areas closer to the stand. Was that ever picked up, monitored or announced anywhere as a problem? Not that I'm aware of. I have some sympathy with Johnson's gripe because I saw it with my own eyes but I didn't see any action to deal with it. That's where the problem is. It's not the girl on the gate's job to admininster this. The website should say that disabled access is pre agreed and all she needs is a list of name/vehicle registrations/Badge number (or similar) if there is one, allowed disabled access with zero tolerance to anyone who is not on the list. The security bloke can deal with those people. If anyone doesn't do as instructed then they can be warned with a three strikes and we take the ruler or Tipp-ex to your details on the list.1 point

There is no negative PR yet which is why it is important to keep it centre stage because those who matter do indeed read this forum. Nobody is making wild assumptions. The notice is clear and if they were offering/exploring alternative arrangements alongside then it should have said so or not been uploaded. They are selling season tickets on the basis of no access for disabled that hasn't been publicised so what do you expect. You sound like the typical speedway fan who takes any old crap, they'd love 1000s like you!1 point

If (hopefully when) Rye House speedway reopen they should take the same route as they did in 2000 when they reopened at Hoddesdon by going in the 3rd tier. I haven't been back to Rye House since the mid season closure a couple of years back but surely theres enough room there to accommodate crowds of up to 2000? - Though I suspect crowds of 400-1000 would be the crowd figures in the 3rd tier on a Saturday night? In times of track closures which means less teams plus a surplus of riders who wish to ride and the BSPA hinting they want to drop the standard of the 3rd tier (something I totally disagree with cause theres already a level below the NL and if we are to produce World class British riders then they need to race at a decent level whilst learning) surely it makes sense to allow Rye House to compete in this seasons NL even if the stadium is not quite what it should be?1 point

Maybe it is. It was said on more than one occasion last season that certain elements of the website couldn't be updated due to technical problems. Let's face it it's long overdue for a major overhaul. For example, the "blog" is 18 month old, riders BSPA averages are last season's starting averages. And the "badge links" to other teams in the league are years out of date. Plymouth are still there (as is Workington) and they dropped down years ago .1 point

Can't understand all the negative comments regarding Chris Holder. Good rider, really down to earth bloke if you approach him after a meeting. If Panthers had anyone but Chapman the clown in charge, I would love him in a Panthers race jacket.1 point

Why would a disabled person buy a season ticket without any provision for them to get trackside ?1 point

Sorry if it's old news, but I just read that TJ was back on a bike last Sunday at Scunthorpe. He said that he went out on track around 10 times, and put in loads of laps, and felt surprisingly good out there with no pain from his shoulder. Can't be a bad thing.1 point

Belle Vue, Leicester and Kent don't seem to feel the need to split their websites. Surely both teams can benefit from the the joint focus on a single website?1 point

Agreed, And If some meetings are going to be guaranteed "loss makers" then they could just play 'rock, papers and scissors' instead to decide who goes through.. The positives are no loss making meetings. And the Cup could be done and dusted well before the cold nights of October.. Obviously it would be better to play 'rock, paper, scissors' in person rather than over the phone, to maintain the sports high reputation for integrity and credibility, (and make it more exciting) which will incur some travelling costs for the relevant team managers, but overall it would be a positive move forward for me.. Maybe even dip their toe in technology and use Skype and stream the 'matches' around the country to the thousands awaiting the results with baited breath? NB Best of Three home and away on the 'rock, paper scissors'.. No Tac Sub for double points if behind.. No guest 'rocks, papers, or scissors' allowed.1 point

Len has been based in Kent for a long time. I think he sold up at Rye in the first place because of his interest in Kent, which is closer to home for him. Would love to see the Rockets back on track, my only request would be the return of the blue and yellow with the traditional rocket on the race suit. The BMR rebrand was garbage. I’d probably attend more in the third tier too. The price shouldn’t be as expensive (hopefully) and the top two divisions are a shadow of what they used to be.1 point
-
One would presume it would have been announced at the same time they announce BB holders have been banned from parking inside Showground. This will impact attendances, and one has to wonder what goes on in the minds of people that makes these decisions...1 point

It seems to me that if there was an intention to provide the shuttle service that is so sorely needed to replace the close parking it would have been mentioned in the same Press Release. Its absence suggests either it’s not been considered or it’s been ruled out sadly.1 point

I read a longer version , but did check back to see how it was described in that excellent book One vital mistake on the last lap of the last race from Max was enough to hand Tom the victory, but it was said if the finishing line was a few yards further on then it would have been a dead heat as Max had the speed coming out of the last bend !!!1 point

You two should get a room or at least a different thread!!!! Meanwhile the Aussie u21 takes place today. Could be relevant to Poole's final 2 riders?!1 point

Michael Lee once said Eddie Argall took no prisoners and was very dirty towards him when he was a sixteen year old. This ended up with his Dad Andy having an altacation with Argall.Dirty and tough are different but Chris Julian,Colin Gooddy, Jack Millen,Steve Gresham, Alan Wilko Wilkinson, Tommy Roper were all forceful could mix it hard but fairly.1 point

Legally probably not, however you wouldn`t need a motorised dish. I suggest you google Polish Television providers in your area, and they i`m sure would fit a dish with decoder, viewing cards etc to watch N Sport and Eleven Sport. I last season took out a 6 month subscripition with Goldvod(around £28) which enabled me to watch all the Polish meetings on my laptop, and apart from a couple of small hiccups i found it reliable and well worth the money. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dSOf-x_x-Q1 point

Animals eat other animals. It's natural and it's called the food chain - we just happen to be at the top of the food chain. Should we try to stop owls eating mice, lions eating antelopes etc? If birds and other little creatures didn't eat insects (they are God's creatures too), there'd be much less healthy grain for the vegans to eat.1 point

It might be good if something appears on the Eastbourne website from Ian Jordan giving the reasons or logistics into this change.1 point

Club have certainly led fans to believe the Showground at fault and have verbally confirmed this to certain people. On the other hand I have an E Mail from Showground that says different. Seeing as club have chosen to remain silent and and ignore e mails , who is to be believed? Suspect E mails to club go to Carl Johnson who either does not know what to do or has been told to keep quiet. It may be of course that he is deeply unhappy about the situation and may even himself have been told a different story.1 point
