Bit harsh. TNT suffered a stroke earlier this year and was quite ill for some time. He is better now but as anyone who has either experienced or knows someone who has suffered a stroke, it's effects live on. We didn't always agree (then again we often did) but he is a genuinely nice person to know and a long term keen speedway fan.8 points

Thank you Richard for your words of support. The handicap and the gate change rules only apply to the NT competition, not the league, and were agreed by all three participating clubs as a way of creating something a little different. No rider will be left out of his/her nominated race, it is not a tactical substitution but a means of trying to do things differently. As you may know the IOW have held handicap races for a number of years and this season we tried 6 riders in the final for the first time so we keep innovating. Some things work and some don't but unless you try, you will never know.3 points

Hate to say it but our top league will miss Poole , and i hope they do well and maybe get more stability and rejoin again in 2021.3 points

Yes Steve, we know you said "Riders generally do improve when they move away from Poole" Definition of generally "in most cases; usually." You then go on to admit you don't actually know. So what can be established is... 1: You don't understand the English language. 2: You don't even know if what you have been banging on about is actually correct.3 points

Great go back then, your latest post tells you everything you create nastiness.Look just comment on your club but don't make out you are the spokesman of the club because you are not far from it you drag the club down.2 points

Steve0 is welcome to do a few as he made no statement to back up. Why should he back up YOUR statement? If you can't do it, no one else can! All I said was young riders will improve wherever they are. Doesn't matter if they are at Ipswich or BV. Attack me all you like but it doesn't change the fact that you can't back up YOUR own statement. Which is still incorrect btw. Oh, and you are either wrong or you don't know what generally means. Which is it?2 points

When will this topic be moved (or merged) with the Championship. Poole supporters need to realise that they are no longer in the top league! Perhaps the reality is that without the demotion there may not be any speedway in Poole, so they are a very welcome addition to the Championship.2 points

I think the team looks great? Can't understand the negative comments at all? Solid top 4, Sheldon and Aaron should grow well, just look forward to seeing who the final signing is... Might not be title winners, but still a good team, will make my way back down again this season for sure2 points

Sandor LevaI remained in England until 1989 when he sold his business and returned to Hungary. He died there in 2009.2 points

I didn't know about the stroke, so I apologise for the original comment and wish him the very best for the future.2 points

Please don't stoop to his level of personal insults!! He clearly has some sort of big bag of King Edwards on his shoulder about me, other Poole fans and all things to do with Poole!!2 points

I have asked Wroclaw on Facebook(in English) and as one would expect from a Polish Speedway club, a really quick answer(in English) " not sooner than January" (i am assuming at the earliest)2 points

I spoke to him once at Swindon and he autographed both my lads books and was a really nice bloke. He was rushing off to another meeting as well but the funny thing was i know they had there little skirmish but Greg Hancock was exactly the same a really nice guy time to speak and had real time for the supporters.2 points

That's going to be hard when the Devils will be racing on a Friday night. It will be rare that Glasgow are not at home if Monarchs ain't. A Saturday afternoon outwith the football season might attract fans from both. It would also be better for the visiting teams, who may well contain schoolboys. But no doubt planning restriction mean that's not an option anymore.2 points

All you had to do was clarify you meant 'some' riders.. debate over. You're right then. But that would mean admitting you made a mistake in your opening post.....2 points

Real fans really!!!! if all the forum members who go stopped paying through the turnstiles you would not have a sport in this Country to watch.1 point

I thought you had thrown your toys out of the pram and disowned Poole speedway after going down to the champs. It has been so much better when you were not commenting on these Poole threads there are some great Poole fans who love there speedway. You come on try to inflame and annoy people deliberately and do a great job stick to selling your old tat and let proper speedway people discuss.1 point

The reason he responded was because you asked for examples, it’s pretty simple. But then you wouldn’t get that would you. No surprise. I knew it wouldn’t be long before you showed your true colours. Reported as well. Only you could comment on someone posting all the time whilst doing the same. Thanks for outing yourself.1 point

Surprised this thread is still going. But then again, I am not. I guess the thing is, Poole, no matter what league they ride in, are the biggest name in the UK by the proverbial mile and can easily have topics in all leagues which have the most posts/views. It doesn’t matter what league Poole ride in, the threads will always be the biggest/longest/most posted on. Other fans may disagree but if there’s one club worth talking about, it’s Poole.1 point

I am part of it as I support all speedway not just the league my own team are in. No doubt be visiting Wiltshire next season with my discounted ticket!1 point

Brilliant news, although not for me.Don't think i would be up for it after a 10hr flight back into Birmingham on the 8th.Talk about bad timing.May try and make the 9th though. Remember the WTC a few years ago, that was awesome, and i managed to get a pit pass that day1 point

With your Sheffield connection, some personal tuition from Nicki Pedersen could be just the job?1 point

I can remember him Steve he had one meeting for the Robins in 1974 .Around that sort of time from 1969 /76??? the second halfers that come to mind were Clark Facey, Mac Woodford Bobo Valentine,Billy Wall, Alan Sorensen, Cliff Anderson,Melvin Soffe, Dave Patten, ( etc). Then it was the Young,Holloway, Evans,Pope, Henry era. Also i can remember in 1979 /80 in the Mawdesley years quite a few riders got rides in second half's trials if you like .Louis Carr,John Williams,Steve Regeling,John Barker, Robert Craven are riders that come to mind.1 point

He was a 4.00 average. Never ever going to be a 6.00. The bigger picture was very simple. The promotion tried to make it look like we were going to sign a number one in an effort to sell a few more season tickets. There was never ever any possibility of Lindgren, Woffinden or Hancock coming, but following the signing of Pedersen they needed to make it look like they'd tried. It then came down to cost, the cheapest possible option with an eye for the 'future'. You can always make signings for the future, indeed the promotion have done that multiple times over the past 30 years or so... however they have also NEVER started the season over 2pts below the points limit. That is utterly, utterly inane and there isn't ONE plausible argument that can defend it.1 point

I let live sport get a head start and then start watching after about 15 minutes. Then I can just f/f the ads. At one time ITV was allowed six minutes of ads per hour. Now a one hour programme on a commercial channel indeed is about 40-45 of actual programme with the rest ads and programme promos. When it comes to sport channels it's sheer greed to sell advertising on top of charging viewers extortionate monthly fees.1 point

With respect Phil, our “Number 1” last year was Chris Harris who dropped a couple of points off his average and we ended up runners up. It’s not the be all and end all.1 point
