I say well done to Sheffield for bring back Nicki P. What a great capture he is. I'm sure he'll create so much added interest that has been missing for some time. Love him or hate him. you can rest assured he will give 100% every time he rides. Controversy always follows him about.. Our speedway has lack characters for some years now, but they don't come much bigger than Nicki. What a pity each of the 7 clubs can't do the same.... Wonderful acquisition..... This undoubtedly, will gain more headlines in the national press then the sport normally gets6 points

Apart from anyone signing Bartosz Smarzlik, or possibly Emil ,which I cant see happening , I personally dont think there is another rider out there that would stir up as much interest as Nicki P. Fantastic signing for the Tigers , a real statement of intent and full credit to them for getting him to put pen to paper He is most definitely a rider you want riding for you , not against you and will no doubt kick up a storm on more than one occasion next season Something that has been sadly lacking in british speedway. Welcome back Nicki . At last , a villain to boo !5 points

Haven’t you already said Morris won’t be back & now he’s in the above team.....will you be going to Asda later?5 points

So here's attempt No 2 just for Dandelion with not so daft names; at least not as daft as the ones she is putting up!!! NEWCASTLE DIAMONDS AVE -2.50% 1 Hans Andersen 9.26 9.26 2 Max Clegg 5.05 4.93 3 Ondrej Smetana 5.00 5.00 4 Matthew Wethers 6.92 6.92 5 Nico Covatti 7.82 7.82 6 Jacob Bukhave 4.00 4.00 7 Alfie Bowtell 3.10 3.02 Total: 41.15 40.95 There you go what's wrong with that team with riders who are still (left) available? I would quite happily pay my sponsorship money to go and watch that lot no problem... Regards THJ5 points

I believe he largely gobs off, slates the lower leagues and ultimately drags down the name of the club and the hard work put in by others.4 points

I suspect there will be a lot of interest in Connor. He (and Ellis) sprung more than a few surprises on opposition riders of much higher averages this season. It's a shame when this kind of team change takes place. I accept the need for a points limit, but a lad like Connor could add a point or two to his average next season.4 points

The story in “today’s” adver only mentions JD has signed...I thought we were announcing 3 other riders as per the article in the adver at Asda orbital....strange!!!3 points

Basically, Lindgren became an icon for fencing someone twice, because that person is a dirty rider. Can't even begin to argue with that logic.3 points

Averages 3 to 5 a meeting yet has a 2.23 average hmmm... The problem with Danny is he's been stuck at the same level for 4 years. No improvement in him. I'd rather go with a younger reserve and watch them grow3 points

Phillips and Bukhave have failed to impress at this level possibly for different reasons. Phillips has been given extended runs and can score a few points around Newcastle , when against poor / inexperienced opposition and has even scored decent points around Redcar where has has done more laps than most Bears riders but does he deserve another chance? Bukhave failed to impress when with the Bears but was saddled with a high average and not able to have a run at reserve which may have helped him. Having said that he didn't pull up any trees at Newcastle and his equipment does not look to be upto a high standard. He still has a high assessed 4 average which may mean he can't fit into a reserve slot which will go against him if the club go top heavy again. Assets mean nothing these days. Perhaps the club may look at local lad Elliot Kelly as a 2 pointer with a more experienced number six, Bickley? All just opinion of course and both Phillips and Bukhave may return to Newcastle as the rumours are they have been saved by a consortium of investors. Money maybe tight so they would fit in a ' cheap ' side ?2 points

Yep a hear what you are saying and respect your opinion however I totally disagree... Opinions... just like onions... lots or rings... or if you're dyslexic it's the same word... never mind... if we ever become promoters I can have him for my team and you can dodge the bullet... Regards THJ2 points

Had many a chat with Jacob in the bar at Brough with Percy his mechanic and you couldn't meet a nicer kid... all he is asking for is a chance to prove himself and to be fair I have seen a lot worse... If Jacob is lucky enough to get a prolonged run in a team he will stick a point to a point and a half on that starting average no problem... plus he's a Dane and even if he ends up struggling you will get nothing but proffessionalism out of him as all Danes come with that metallity... I wouldn't mind him back at Newcastle that's for sure.... Totally correct Regards THJ2 points

What part is nonsense? The Ipswich part certainly isn’t. Chapman isn’t the owner of Ipswich, Chris Louis said so himself a few weeks back.2 points

Quite so Starry. He's got some good experience around him and as you rightly say Matt is but a phonecall, text, message away.2 points

If all teams had a Danny Ayres in there team the championship would be better for it, that's for sure......2 points

Well, when the BSPA did try to do that with graphics and transponders on the bikes., One of the requirements was for the white helmet cover to change to green so the punters, particularly the Far East and others at home, could use their TV remote control to carry out their bets watching live graphics constructed from signals from the transponders. The income was forecast to be huge, but unfortunately the graphics were the stumbling block and it didn't happen. Just demonstrates that things like that were well thought out, and plans like the green helmet were put in place ready for it's possible introduction. Had it been successful it would have dwarfed the income from the TV rights. But all fans remember is the joke about green helmet covers.2 points

A big plaudit to Jason Doyle who continues to back British Speedway despite his busy SGP / European schedule . Shame other riders don’t follow suit2 points

Having stayed loyal to Nielsen for a few years now, I think Rob has missed a trick by not getting him back on such a low average when he’s proved what he can do round the EWR. Rob also talks about the 1-7 all knowing the EWR, which is true, but on an even track without a power packed team the odd home defeat is inevitable (even Glasgow lost at home this year ) but it looks like away points are going to be very hard to come by! No new names to excite and intrigue the fans unfortunately. Yes I know that Palin is new but he’s there for development and a star of the future rather than immediate points scoring. At least Auty & Ayers offer bags of entertainment.2 points

He was great at home, but his averaged dropped by 4 points away. Home 7.71 Away 3.78. That's huge. The biggest gap in the league I would of thought. As you know the Stars got nothing on the road last season. A few changes are needed if we want a play off place. We need to pick points up on the road in 2020. I'm not saying change the whole team, but Lynn's engine room needs to be better next season if they are serious about winning things. We had to many flying around the AFA, but poor away. Not picking on any one rider, but a few stats...... Last places...…... Home TJ 3 ...….. Away 11 Erik 1...…. Away 10 MPT 3..... Away11 Lewis 7...... Away 182 points

I suspect he’ll keep his license going. Don’t be surprised if you see him back on a bike at some stage2 points

What I like about this signing is that Sheffield haven't relied on cast off Poole riders, or waited to see which riders can't be fitted into other teams, but have gone their own way and done it themselves. A very positive sign for how they will fare in the top flight, in my opinion.2 points

Having watched them this season the boys will do well if the track suits them All the Nl tracks they rode on are really slick but stepping up a league means the tracks will have a lot more dirt on them and they will need to be a lot stronger to hold on to their bikes2 points

Hear, hear. Given modern British speedway's crowds - many counted in hundreds rather than thousands - it's ludicrous any participant should expect the sport to be a full time occupation.2 points

When you see him week in, week out, he's hard not dirty. When he was at Eastie in his prime there were some astonishing races at close quarters with Jason Crump especially and with Leigh Adams, Peter Karlsson etc, the like of which I've never seen since. Never an inch given but what excitement. If he's anything like that now, enjoy it whilst you can.2 points

you ruled Greaves out of Redcar yourself. Maybe the other are worth a go and if they do good luck to them. If Newcastle offer Jacob a place i'd like to see him there Redcar can have Phillips as I would like to see them two race each other.1 point

He has said that working with Plymouth is just additional, he is helping them out with the commercial side of things and will still fulfil the same role as he did last year with the Eagles.1 point

Hope you are right he deserves a chance last year i think he scored double figures plus in every meeting bar a couple of meeting's.I think he is unlucky not to be in Leicester's plans but i fully understand that because they are developing the Thompson twins career's which is great news.1 point
