I hope you never suffer from mental health issues. People like Craig need support not abuse from prats like you.12 points

Some of the times were in the 56's , so that doesn't suggest the track was really unfit . And the likes of Jake Allan , Ben Barker and Josh Auty didn't seem phased by it . Obviously it wasn't perfect given the amount of rain that had fallen on it on the days leading up to the meeting , but last week's heavy defeat had more to do with our mindset regarding the track , rather than the condition the track was in5 points

If you watched tonight's meeting you wouldnt be saying that, there was some extremely close racing with plenty of contact,, you can't see that from behind your bedroom curtains, for any of your teams5 points

Surely you must be qualified to express such a strong opinion on another human being? Maybe you should consider the guy might just be suffering from some form of mental illness. Let’s hope for their sake that no one in your family ever suffers this kind of condition. Just when you think the World has moved on you get people like yourself to prove otherwise. You should have a word with yourself.4 points

Certainly didn’t put up much fight when bomber passed him early in the meeting - tbh he seemed caught unawares to me tho as he was looking for Ellis on the outside on lap 1 looked again second bend lap 2 and bomber was sailing by! but later when Allen and king teamed up for a 5-1 over him you can’t say he wasn’t trying everything it that race! He was all over them, all over the track trying every which line he could!4 points

Agree with all of that to be honest. Allen was working his socks off, but no-one was realistically replace Charles scoring around the MPA. A lot of close, fast racing but not a great deal of passing. Good to see Stewart back to his best. Lawson was again excellent for the Eagles, and Kennett started superbly. Kerr and Newman had their moments, and have to say probably best I have seen Phillips ride. Slightly disappointee in Edwards who has rode well here previously. Tie is on a knife edge - good go either way. I think Eastbourne must now be favourites but you never know! Good to see a good sized crowd again as well. Last note, great to read the programme notes from Jitendra about the recent fan survey. Four pages of notes going into some detail around issues around facilities/rules/fixtures/press coverage. Great to have some transparent communication.3 points

How can virtually the same riders produce better racing just because the league has a different name? I didn't realise Rowe Atkins Stoneman etc must be so much more attractive a proposition that Fricke Doyle and Iversen.....3 points

Track covers ‘not working’ clearly means they didn’t get the result they wanted so will not use them, very poor attitude, they work absolutely fine, if anything it was your riders who didn’t seem to be working3 points

thats a pretty shocking post you idiot, agree or disagree you have to respect a fellow speedway fan,i really dont get this gavan paranoia from the same 3 poole "fans" sometimes i agree sometimes i dont, but at least he puts up a reasoned argument, his poole critics just just return rude comments,as you know starman i dislike you, but i certainly dont wish you an injury by playing on an A road3 points

There's nothing wrong with it. The only thing wrong is the 2 points for winning at home for less than 6 was taken away. You say bonus points are ok. Well, just think of it as a bonus point for getting within 6 away from home. Lose by 6 the away team get a bonus point. Draw then 1 point each. Plus the bonus point for the away team. Win by up to 6. 2 points. Plus the original bonus if it is the away team. Win by over 6. 3 points plus the bonus point if it is the away team. It would be as simple as that except they took away the 2 points for the home team winning by 6 or less. It's still ok, but made more sense when it was 3, 2, 1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4.3 points

Sh#t scared of track conditions after some rain is more like it.3 points

You would think that if a rider says they have these types of mental issues that there would be a similar situation to concussion of not being permitted to race until they seek proper medical help and are assessed on there level of illness, especially as Cook withdrew from a meeting siting this as a reason3 points

You have no idea of mental health issues and how people react in different ways, sometimes sad and tearful but equally can be irritable and3 points

The real problem seems to be that Craig should not be piloting a powerful motorcycle in close proximity to three other riders, while he is so unwell. Referees, track doctors / medics, team managers should step in much, much sooner rather than sending a rider in such a state out to race ( or allowing them to ride again ). Naturally ,Craig needs lots of help with his mental health issues before he is allowed to ride again. If he is.3 points

Ever since his 13 point average, I get a sense of Doyle managing his average to a certain degree - just dropping a point or two here and there but always doing the business when it's required.3 points

Shocking move by Poole to bring in Wells, I said it from the beginning, but some poole fans couldn't see it. Unfortunately the Aces management didn't see it quick enough either and it's cost us play off qualification. It will cost poole the playoffs.3 points

Tracks always bad when you lose, but good when you win.3 points

Think BT might be a bit peed off.. Apart from Swindon this year the other tracks in the play offs havent offered up great racing from what I've seen on TV.. Lets hope they can all prepare great racetracks for their semis and final and good luck to all of them... Be good to get six cracking TV meetings to end the season... Presuming BT can be bothered showing them all obviously..3 points

Agreed, you need a brain, throttle control and the ability to turn the bike at Monmore.3 points

Your points system in British League speedway is well and truely unique. I don't like it. No other speedway league in the rest of the world needs such a complex points system. I'd recommend You to adopt the Polish League system as much as is possible. It is simple and it works perfectly well.2 points

Mental health covers many different types of the illness.I would say there a millions of people in the UK with varying forms of mental health problems.Just because Craig has a problem it doesn't mean he has to stop racing. If anyone with any kind of mental health problem was to stop doing what they do there would be many, many more people unemployed that includes speedway riders. Problem with many people,is that when they hear that someone has a mental problem they think they are a bit crazy. And will do crazy things.2 points

So this was the result of a County championship match in early June..... Warwickshire (9 pts) drew with Nottinghamshire (5 pts) Blows your case closed wide open again. Just admit it you haven't got a clue what you've been wittering on about.2 points

People have no idea what Craig's problems are, what help he might or might not be receiving and how it might or might not affect his ability to race. I suggest it would be better in those circumstances not to comment on his situation or prognosis but instead to give him as much time and space as he needs to get himself back to a stage where he can return. That might just be days or much longer but when he does return it would be good to see more understanding and support. Many, many people suffer from different types of mental illness. It is no different than physical illness, it is not their fault and there should be no stigma attached to it. The body can only cope with certain degrees of stress and the mind is no different.2 points

lets be honest starry if you don't like what gavan post put him on block simple really don't you think2 points

Rather be entertained than one sided meetings and that what has been achieved. Reading the rest of your post is utter tosh , if i was stranded on a desert island with you and a tin of corned beef , i would eat you and talk to the tin of corned beef.2 points

So the best riders in the world don't ride in the UK because the tracks are small ? I don't think so ! Everyone knows it is because it is not worth the effort for the money on the table .2 points

Yesterdaysman's post and pictures got the old grey matter working. Mike Cake and myself used to cycle there on a Sunday from Parkstone to watch etc. I think the name of the person running it then was Fred Pike. Not many riders (junior/novice) would turn up. Very deep sand on the bends. For our moral support we were each rewarded with a cloth sew on blazer badge bearing the name and logo. Track at St. Ives, Matcham Park is not very far away,2 points

Surely you're not saying that you are unhappy with Doyley's contribution are you.?? Comparing era's is difficult and yes Leigh was a legend a great rider we have been blessed with Legends over the years.Swindon's top ever 7 must read ( no order) Briggs, Crump, Ashby, Adams Kilb, Broady, Doyley.2 points

I know nothing about track preparation. What I do know is that last week the action on the track bore no resemblance to the racing we had enjoyed prior to the 4 week break. And I don't say that cos we lost. There was nothing entertaining about last week and if it became typical of the speedway on offer I wouldn't be back.2 points

After reading Dale Allits piece in the Speedway Star , it seems Craig is not a well man. Get well soon Cookie we need you in the Stars team.2 points

Agreed, The only negative thing to come out of watching Polands coverage every weeked is then watching the coverage of domestic UK speedway on the Monday.. Sadly it really highlights the huge differences across every single facet of the sport in both countries.. Been some great racing this year, and when a team with Doyle, Holder, Holder and NKI get relegated well adrift of the top teams you have an exceptional overall competition standard..2 points

I would like:- 1) a home meeting every week. 2) away team to visit once only per season. 3) no double-up riders. 4) less gardening at the gate! 5) a heat structure that ensures heat leaders achieve a higher average. 6) riders to adapt machinery to weather conditions AND RIDE. 7) in the event of r/r a #8 to be named and given at least one ride. 8) yellow/black helmet colour to return. 9) first race to start prompt at advertised start time. 10) a points system that allows a League Table to be understood.2 points
