Has anyone told Rohan that his battling 2nd place in heat 15 secured the Witches a play off place? I'm sure he will be stoked6 points

Can’t believe a team fell for THJ mid season signing shenanigans again......Bahahahahahaha6 points

Well look on the bright side. If the second meeting is curtailed due to a curfew it makes the bandits chances of winning increase from pretty certain to dead certain.6 points

Well done Ellis Perks who would be my vote for most improved rider of the season as has done a fantastic job.5 points

I think they've worked in terms of cutting out clashes between the two leagues which is what they were brought in for. Less guests and R/R from my memory this season. Although my memory is questionable!5 points
-
Because it was a flawed system and replaced by one that WAS much better. However, they ruined that when they took away only getting 2pts for winning by 6 or less at home.5 points

I think the ‘new’ scoring system is one of the best (only good?) ideas that the authorities have come up with, works really well for me but they need to go back to making home teams win by seven to get their three points. If we are going to have a top division again it needs two or three additions, seven clubs just doesn’t work.4 points

Rowe seems to have done a good job at 2 since he moved there, certainly in the home meetings.4 points

It suited those with a bigger home track advantage. I never really had a problem with it, but if you ask most what it's purpose was the answer will be to keep interest in a meeting alive (score wise) for longer.. Well the current system does that far better. Where they shot themselves in the foot is scrapping the extra pt a home team got for winning by more than 6.. now 46-44 is as good as 49-41. The reasoning being home fans supposedly went home unhappy if they missed out on the extra pt after winning a meeting....3 points

Fixed race nights do not work, they haven't had any positive impact only negative. Scrap them next season.3 points

Everyone entitled to an opinion I suppose but I think your comments are very harsh. Natalie was writing programme notes for the Aces when she was still at school! Probably knows more about the sport from the inside than most posters on this site. Dave Goddard (Swedish match commentary) does a sterling job, especially when you consider he is commentating from a studio in Dublin!3 points

The scoring system in British Speedway is the best thing the BSPA have ever come up with. The system keeps meetings alive far longer than the standard system3 points

What people fail to see with the SoN this year was Rossiter's absurd decision to bring in Harris. Regardless of what happened previously, that decision alone deserved criticism and the sack. There were so many better options available.3 points

Definitely more teams, 16 if possible, knock-out cup, regular fixtures on regular nights.3 points

Agreed with the bonus point... I just can't get my head around the current league point scoring system, never have been able to. Can never remember whether it's 6 or more than 6 to get or lose the extra point and an away draw getting more than a home draw is just ridiculous3 points
-
do you really believe the likes of berwick, eastbourne, redcar and scunthorpe would want to go NDL.maybe supporters wouldn't,t want to see that on a regular basis.while i know it is what it says, a development league, supporters want to see the top guys racing week in week out or every other week just about as has been the norm this season,3 points
-
.I like to see the bonus point back over two legs why that was dropped I never know lets be honest chapman saved the premiership this season cant see it happening again . one league must clearly be on the agenda .do I hold out of much progress im afraid no hoped to be proved wrong though3 points

Ipswich Vs Wolves in the final. Ippo to knock out Poole in the semis with Serjeant dominating the Poole reserves2 points

Totally agree Steve, we were just hanging in there on borrowed time, ive always said if Wolves qualify for the play offs they could go the whole way, we know their dominance at home but they have put in some good away performances of late, don't think any team will relish taking them on.2 points

It’s hard to take I’m sure but I’m sure most Aces fans knew that the Aces have been on borrowed time for a while now. I think the Aces should have made changes 6 weeks ago.2 points

So much for THJ being a good signing and I read that Klint hit a rut on bend 1 in heat 15, oh dear2 points

Looks like MPT must be OK after his injury on Monday as he is top scoring as a guest for Peterborough tonight with 8 from 3 rides so far. Hope he can do that for the Bears over the next 3 nights.2 points

Whether our season is "done" or not (for me it's not while there are matches to watch), the visit of Somerset to Armadale on Friday will be shown live at the Oak Tree Arena. Could be an important innovation for British Speedway.2 points

Those would be the fans who find it difficult or impossible to attend on a Monday or a Thursday, when their regular night was a Friday or Saturday, and they and their kids could attend The fixed nights only really suited fans of teams who always used to race on a Monday or a Thursday - and of course those teams didn’t ride on both nights, so even then some (say) Thursday regulars would be missing on the Monday, and vice versa2 points

It what way don't they work ...all the fans wanted them Swindon have had nearly had the same 1 -7 home and away for two years with hardly any guests .. we were told that's what the fans wanted ….this is what makes laugh when they say that the powers that be don't listen to the fans . Well they do are then they still moan . Go back to normal Race nights and fans will start moaning about to many guests etc ...standard speedway fans2 points

George Major says: I went there a few times in '58/9. It was not so much a track as an oval thrashed out in the bracken. it was accessed through an opening between the trees, there were several of these, all looking very much the same. I don't know how my dad managed to find the right one. From memory, there never seemed too much organisation, sometimes none at all. I think there was a notice saying only three riders on the track at one time, so I guess it was a bit on the narrow side. I don't remember any established S A L riders ever being there, so probably all wobbler's, like I was and not many fast laps going on, but not too sure on that, as a long time ago. It has to be remembered, there was not much happening in Speedway at that time, so we were glad to ride on anything resembling a track. Here are a couple of old pics, a family member would have taken with an old box camera or "Brownie 127" . Not very clear, but might give you some idea.2 points

To me the scoring system is bang on. Even if a team is 10 points up after heat 14 there is something to race for in 15. And it's easy to understand!!! All the newbies I took this season got it straight away.2 points
-
Exactly. It's speedway not TT racing.Deal with it.Some riders attitude is a joke.It was the same with Schlein the other week.If you can't handle the track do a different sport. They don't realise they are killing the sport and soon they will have to get a proper job.Track prep, rider attitude, drawn out meetings, the b s p a need to smell the coffee.Look at attendances ,dropping all around the country. All they do is tinker with the rules and drop points limit. After 58 years of watching Sheffield speedway my patience is wearing thin.2 points

If promoted properly I think there could be quite an appetite for test matches... there was quite a decent crowd at BV earlier in the year for the U21 Team Championship and this despite zero promotion in the UK2 points
-
The delay between heat 20 and the semi and the final are the reasons I don't go to this anymore... any tension built up through the meeting is lost when it takes half an hour to run the final 120 seconds of racing2 points
-
Promoters who think fans will turn up every week and watch their team lose more often than not are playing a dangerous game. Peterborough fans generally will support a competitive team, I am not convinced that what league they are in (Premiership or Championship) is that important. We do have Supporters who turn up every week regardless of results but success or not does affect our attendance.2 points

I would like:- 1) a home meeting every week. 2) away team to visit once only per season. 3) no double-up riders. 4) less gardening at the gate! 5) a heat structure that ensures heat leaders achieve a higher average. 6) riders to adapt machinery to weather conditions AND RIDE. 7) in the event of r/r a #8 to be named and given at least one ride. 8) yellow/black helmet colour to return. 9) first race to start prompt at advertised start time. 10) a points system that allows a League Table to be understood.2 points

No, I didn't say you did (copied wrong part of message-sorry) I was trying to re-affirm what you had said. I know 100% that Kent riders are paid and others on here either have an agenda or just like a no fact sh*t stir.2 points

Why are you concerned about the weather the meeting isn't in Manchester!2 points

Boring? Come on, man! Except for Leszno dominating at the top, the Ekstraliga this year was tremendously exciting. Who would have thought that Gorzow and Torun finish the season in the relegaton zone. All meetings were generally excellent throughout the season, and attracted big crowds, and that even with live tv coverage for the first time of EVERY meeting.2 points
