Great decision by Sheffield on putting the future of young British speedway riders first, especially one who had just won the NL Pairs and become British Under-19 Champion only a couple of weeks ago. i wish Broc Nicol all the best but I hope Drew Kemp finds a place somewhere else at a club where he is more appreciated.5 points

Probably the first, second, third and fourth bends , back straight and home straight , that should just about cover it.4 points

Let's be honest. . It's all a bit Mickey Mouse isn't it? They are very lucky to even have a TV company showing the racing over here, and I would think it's only due to the SGP coverage that they already have that BT bothered to come on board.. Imagine if the sport went out on mainstream TV and someone trying to explain last weeks Peterborough team to the watching millions? Or last year's Grand Final where two riders who ride for neither team were initially planned to represent both finalists, swap at 'half time', and change teams..? And then explaining how riders can swap teams every week of the season, effectively destroying their own season, their own teams' season, and, incredibly, their own fans' season, by scoring points for rivals who are competing for the same competition title.. Sometimes it's for the best that no one seems too bothered.. Speedway, (in the UK) should be grateful it gets any coverage at all..4 points

I'm genuinely starting to think that Starman has a female alias on here with some of the crap I've seen posted over the last few weeks. I know the school holidays send parents over the edge but this is clearly an extreme case.3 points

Any chance of Peterborough (B) away fixture being sorted out before Brexit or play-off cut-off date? It might be important.3 points

To get to 20 matches ridden for each team and have the top six separated by only 8 points is pretty good going for keeping up fans’ interest among the clubs. Everyone said it would be open this year and so it’s proved.3 points

And that is one of the major problems with British speedway. There is no loyalty from riders (with a very few exceptions). The fast dwindling band of fans desperately laud "their" riders only for said riders to disappear into the sunset at the slightest sniff or promise of more lucrative deals. Or they see the UK as a payday when other countries leagues are winding down and next years qualifying is done and dusted. Having said that promoters dispense with riders services at the drop of a hat, so in some ways you can't put 100% of the blame on riders but gone are the days of Betts, Turner, Gagen et al who were club stalwarts without question, whose total loyalty was to THEIR club and not the highest paymaster. Going back into hibernation now3 points

Irrelevant - the changes are made using the current (August) averages, not some mythical future figure.3 points

Anyone recognise these predictions,,,, It's pretty clear in black and white Swindon will finish top2 points

Danny King has the second highest average in the league behind Cookie, but yet you want an out and out number 1? He’s on over 9?2 points

as much as I like to see british riders with team spots, I can see the reasons for this change. ok, the play offs have all but passed us by, so maybe with the tracks left to visit, this change gives us a better chance I reckon, broc is our asset so why not use our own riders, as he wasn't our own rider, we were only helping drews experience as a rider for Ipswich. to mention dropping macdonald or kennedy instead is utter rubbish as they are our own riders, I would imagine these 2 along with broc will form the basis of the side next season, yes its a bit harsh on drew, but that is professional sport.2 points

I'm wide awake thank you very much and in the interests of clarity he hasn't replaced Summers he's replaced Busk Jacobsen. as for your reply Why? Exactly what is he earning? How do you know? Are you his agent? A friend? A sponsor? Bankrolling the Bandits? ... or are you just one of those "I say it , so it must be true" style contributors?2 points

When THJ came over here for Kings Lynn he couldn’t be bothered and was riding a MDL riders bikes and just brought random engine over with him he didn’t even bring back protector and gloves. This year i understand he his bringing complete bikes, toolkit and mechanic with him so should be better2 points

The likes of Nilsson, Berntzon, Thorssell have also all represented their country in GPs and WTC since 2014 and Thorssell is current Swedish Champion. All are achieving better in Sweden these days so are comfortably ahead of him these days. The Swedes haven’t produced anyone of suitable class on the big stage since Lindgren and Lindback, with only Ljung a possible candidate. Sweden are in a worse state than GB for producing the next generation.2 points

Will people stop going on about last night meetings/averages and changes, we are currently using averages that came out on 1st August, last nights meetings won’t even be used in September averages!2 points

Personally I think any team should not entertain bringing in a rider in the last few days before the transfer deadline who quite obviously did not want to commit to a full season in GB in the first instance, even if it does strengthen their chances of play-off success ...... it's all at the expense of riders who were committed to GB I reckon .....2 points

If Worrall is seeing his Consultant this week, he could be cleared to return for this. But even so, it could be worth getting his brother in for this one, nobody would notice the difference.2 points

So . . a confession from Mr R that televised speedway DOES affect attendances trackside I’ve said this all along, and I still see no benefit to the sport in having league matches televised live in the UK It’s not as if it’s a great product to advertise to the wider public in the current format Much better would be a carefully edited weekly highlights package - just show the races, and sensible interviews post-meeting instead of the gap-filling chats as at present Put together a package that just might attract new spectators and ex-attendees to the tracks2 points

He was awful last time he was here....seems a panic signing But then again we all know riders when they sign for Poole will always do better there then anywhere else2 points

Could I congratulate Klindt on taking the starting gate gardening up to a new level of delay. All it needed it was a set of cones and a digger to complete his 2 mins of preparation. After the gardening was completed he rolled back a few yards to do his ADHD routine of goggle tapping, fuel cap tapping, cut-out tapping, helmet tapping, gloves shuffle and then finally obliged the start Marshall by getting up to the tapes!!! Credit must be given to the resultant gating enabling him to lead the races, although invariably he then provided most of the meeting passes as he progressed to the back! Not really my definition of a "Heat Leader" but I suppose that's what we are down to these days!2 points

The guy is a businessman, he will want one of his teams in the Play Offs and the big crowd which goes with it. Hence the Ipswich signing of Iversen.2 points

Speedway Star did a piece the other week questioning speedway clubs' season-long chopping and changing of riders. The article was bang on. The season is just a continuation of practice matches. Perhaps if sides lost a certain number of match points for every change they made, they wouldn't be so hasty.2 points

NKI was Lynn bound if Lambert had been ruled out for the season. When this didn’t happen Buster, out of decency to Puk found him a home at one of his other places of work. I don’t see what the problem is. If NKI had wanted to start the season he would have been at Lynn, he didn’t.2 points

Lol nki qualifies for next years gp series again at the weekend, rode as a heatleader in Poland and Swedish top leagues all season, thj scores chuff all at reserve in Sweden all season and has just signed for Berwick but yeah their careers have taken the same path1 point

I’d love to know how Puk could have been fitted into the team without chucking out Cook or Lambert (pointless) or having two weak reserves (pointless).1 point

Times have changed at many clubs. Only a couple of weeks ago Swindon's owner Terry Russell said they would lose money this season and I believe the same will also apply to several clubs (again?) If the average fan had any real idea of the finances in speedway at the moment they would frighten themselves to death!!1 point

Surely it’s Chris Louis that has signed Niels at Ipswich, not buster!? if buster was trying to win the league with one of “his” 3 teams no matter what by picking all 21 riders then surely he’d have been having the biggest merry go round possible to ensure at least one team had the maximum potential to win the league, and you’d think he’d be doing that at Kings Lynn having stated at the start of the season “I still hate losing to Ipswich and will do anything to beat them” he puts the money in and Louis does the team to the budget he’s the promoter simple as that. Kings Lynn/buster would’ve had first refusal on Niels as he’s their rider and obviously deemed it unnecessary to ring the changes to get him in, he can’t then block Niels from signing a deal elsewhere should he wish1 point

Think it’s usually fair to say where are these riders to make a change? However Iversen and THJ have both proven us all wrong!1 point

THJ did well for Pirates in 2011 2013 so won't have long to wait and see if it works. Too risky to run with 6 man team at sharp end of season.1 point

pretty obvious that Cook appealed so that he went to Qualifier race fit rather than stone cold and it has backfired. Now Glasgow and Kings Lynn will suffer for his petulance and arrogance. Would have been better to have served his ban like Vissing and Kennett and got some rest to his wrist and some practice on similar tracks to Qualifier. Doubt he'll ever qualify for a full SGP season again as others improving across Europe and World all the time. Lambert is only realistic SGP option we have over next 3-4 years.1 point

Bold move at the 11th hour. Something certainly had to be done but I wasn't expecting that! Will make it very interesting finish to the season now.....1 point

Sadly speedway sold it's media rights to Dick Turpin , the reinvestment rate of Turpin via advertising is zero , but the legal threats to anyone wanting to promote the sport using media are top priority . shame that all the sky dosh found its way into Dicks pockets , there, was an opportuinity to reinvest in some advertising to attract people who don't already follow speedway rather than constantly preaching to the converted1 point
