Craig Cook just been an idiot again, track staff were repairing damaged fence by starting gate plenty of people on track, Cook rode round to the starting gate even though referee put red lights on. Clerk of course walked up to him and told him he had to leave and he didn’t, so clerk of the course pulled his cut out.9 points

No T/S if you needed them and very limited choice if you get another injury. Don't worry Gav I know Ippo haven't got that much experience of the play-offs but trust me Poole have.3 points

Well that is some unexpectedly bad news, just in time for Home and Away v Poole. Douglas the Lurpak trumpeter? Desmond Douglas the table tennis player? Carl Douglas the singer of Everybody was Kung Fu fighting? Douglas is not Bart Zmarzlik.2 points

I think it does personally. We still have A strong reserve now Allen drops back there, and Sargeant actually rides Ipswich pretty well. If he doesn’t, he’ll get three rides and Allen will get an extra ride. In theory anyway! Getting Iversen in may also give the others a lift, particularly Harris who should now feel less pressure and gets away from number 1.2 points

Total thrashing, could have hit 70. Another good crowd and Swindon go top. Ippo were embarrassing. Vissing won rider of the night. Record Premiership score this season, home and away against the Witches. Go Robins!!!2 points

Is the manager really that clueless? Why oh why does Louis (supposedly in charge) not do what any right minded individual would do? A sad indictment of how a great name like Ipswich has plummeted in a once decent sport which unfortunately has little credibility left and partly because of one mans ambition to keep a third rate higher division going at any cost. Speedway in this country is not on the same level as most overseas nations and should by now have learnt to plough its own furrow. Each club suffers from irregular weekly speedway which affects the form of many riders (albeit double up helps but also raises the risk profile for a team) fixed race nights are a failure as far as numbers through the gate is concerned (you have the odd exception) and more often than not each meeting is a team of either six men plus Mr R/R thereby short changing the paying public or you have rider select. Little wonder even the stalwarts are walking away. Also rans is how to sum up the witches and they might just as well have a clear out now as they have little else to commend the continuation in the current league structure. Buy in an overseas rider by all means but get rid of the dead wood in the team.2 points

Sheer madness to have R/R at 5. Always put it at two and have a strong rider in heat 8. Plus if you lose a reserve you are in the deep stuff2 points

According to the proboards site, 25 August 2018. That, however, is nit picking. I saw the crash at Workington and it was truly awful - I was actually relieved that his injuries were what they were. To break the track record today would have been a fantastic achievement no matter what. To do it after what happened is a remarkable one.2 points

I think there may be a lot of truth in that, but it is also true that there are less and less and less fans, at all of those tracks, because the truth is that only two or three races in any meeting are worthy of the name. That is one of the main reasons why the number of UK supporters has plummetted over the last 10 to 15 years. Domestic UK speedway is increasingly perceived as poor VFM.2 points

I do not understand what some of the BV fans are whinging about. BV needed to stop KL getting anything out of this meeting, which we did. As far as I am concerned Job Done. Lastword is the only one to get it right. Apart from all the delays I quite enjoyed us stuffing someone up for a change.2 points

With Glasgow’s league position I should think their fans will be flocking down, especially with a chance of seeing their local rivals beaten.2 points

For me Lindback will not get a wild card Madsen, Zmarzlik, Emil, Vaculik, Freddie, Dudek.............those 6 seem safe Magic, Laguta, Kolodziej, Doyle........2 of those 4 will qualify Tai and Hancock will get 2 wildcards I would imagine the other 2 wildcards could be the 2 riders that dont make it out of the 4 i listed 7th, 8th 9th and 10th (currently Kolodziej and Doyle) The only other rider who may be considered is Lambert , but i only see him getting a wildcard if firstly Greg retires or secondly the organisers dont go for Laguta or Kolodziej if they finish outside the top 8 People with a lack of knowledge bang on about 'new blood'..would love the names of these 'new blood ' riders who could make the series better and be competitive2 points

Not just the last meeting of a hugely busy August; not just a derby against our nearest and dearest; not just the opportunity to help riders injured while banging handlebars for our entertainment ... but the chance to go home £500 richer. Teams to be posted later in the week - and the riders will be in the crowd after heat 10 collecting for the Speedway Riders' Benevolent fund. But there is still, until Wednesday at least, time to join the Bandits 5-1 Draw - £500 t0 the winner, £100 second prize - which will be drawn after heat 15, between the main match and the NJL clash of Berwick Academy and Ashfield Giants. 102 of the 120 numbers have already been bought for the draw which, when fully subscribed, will hand a £600 monthly boost to the S.T.A.R.S initiative which aims to help secure the future of speedway at Berwick. Berwick Bandits Supporters' Club is running the draw on the Bandits' behalf and anyone wanting to register for the first draw needs to have a direct debit or standing order set up no later than Wednesday (August 28). Messenger the Supporters’ Club via its Facebook page (which also contains a list of the available numbers), text Angela Wilson on 07572520363 or email club@berwickspeedway.com If any numbers remain unsold names will be collected at Saturday’s meeting – along with a “reserve list” – but they will not be “active” until the September draw. More information from the Box Office entrance.1 point

Speaking to track curator Andy Meredith, he told me he was 'caught out'. He put a substantial amount of water on last night and again this morning but the sun failed to materialise until almost start time. He'd anticipated - and all the weather reports stated - that the sun would come out and dry the surface out far more than it did, leaving it really grippy (hence Dan Bewley breaking the track record). Further watering was then needed to keep the dust down. It was poor, with only heat 10 & heat 15 being up to the usual high standard. It was, nevertheless, job done, with Jaimon Lidsey in particular very impressive.1 point

Very, very flat performance by Lynn. Awful from the gate and not quick enough on track. Lambert obviously not fit and riding within himself. Not good enough unfortunately. Racing poor too making it a depressing afternoon catching up with one or two old friends at least so not all bad.1 point

Yes he has been practising, but not fit enough to ride today so i doubt he would want his 1st meeting back to be away at a tough place like Leicester and if Kent win today they are pretty much guaranteed a play off place. Kent do still have an away match at Cradley & if they can run with a full team for a change i would expect a win there.1 point

It was interesting to read some stuff in the programme last night, it seems Worrall has tried to improve things and spent a great deal of money on engine tuning but hasnt seemed to of work. You cant really fault a rider for trying to improve himself and get better scores for us. People have been disappointed with him as his scores have dropped off but for the first half of the season him, Matty and Max had carried us and recently only Clegg has continued that. Worrall was back to gating well and looking quick with paid 8 from his 3 rides and it was good to see. It was also great to see Matty back to his usual self and Jorgensen doing much better and you could see how much it meant to him after what looked like a puncture in heat 15. Ulrich and Danny were also gating well and only Bjerre looked to be a concern but looked a different rider when gated. In Worrall's 1st 19 matches to mid July he had double figures scores in 14 of then and his other scores included a paid 12, 9, 9, 8 and 6+1 so no one can complain at that and are the scores of a real number 1. Hopefully last night will give them a bit confidence even though it was only against Birmingham for the final.1 point

Hope Jack has no after effects of his 'coming together' with Pedersen in heat 1 at Torun yesterday. He went on to score 10 points so hopefully all will be well. In fact all the Pirates top 4 scored well in Poland yesterday and Ricky scoring paid 13 for the Monarchs - lets hope they bring it all to Wolves this evening.1 point

You're totally right, what a nonsense speedway is. It should be like football where the top 8 sides in the World Cup are seeded to the next event.. All the others aren't allowed to qualify as they had their chance. Speedway fans... I despair at times.1 point
