who was the team manager tonight Kevin Keegan , twelve points clear in front and blew the lead again4 points

Very disappointing performance by the Diamonds, two heat leaders who before they were signed stated their dislike of the track and a No. 1 who is a shadow of the rider he was. Many dissatisfied fans muttering on the terraces tonight, not about the bravery of the riders just the seeming lack of application and willingness to mix it. Too late to salvage anything this season, both cup semi finalists should be too strong for us both home and away. I know we don't just go to see our team win but when the racing is uncompetitive you can understand why people don't come back. I really fear for the survival of the diamonds.4 points

I hope that it’s now obvious to the promoters that double header meetings are not feasible at Beaumont Park as the maths don’t add up. Like many fans I park on the Shopping centre car park where there is 4 hours free parking. It takes me about 15 minutes to walk to the track and queue to get in. It’s about the same to get back to the car after the meeting and queue to get out of the car park so that’s 30 minutes gone already. There are then 30 races at say 6 minutes per race or another 180 minutes so that’s 3 ½ hours gone out of the 4. Then we need to add on re-starts and re-runs say 3 per meeting at 5 minutes – another 30 minutes so my 4 hours are up. Then of course there is the tractor racing say 4 times per meeting at 5 minutes – another 40 minutes gone and 5 minutes gaps between heats 14 and 15 – another 10. So even without any intervals during or between meetings it must be obvious that even without any lengthy delay due to bad accidents there is no way I and many others can stay and watch all of a double header meeting.3 points

Yes a bank account will be getting organised this week to allow fans to pay by direct debit. We had a meeting with Jamie and Flinty on Friday night, and Jamie came up with the 5-1 theme. First draw will be made on August 31st against Newcastle on centre green.3 points

Possibly the best thing to come out of last night. The two need each other. The supporters club do a great job of raising funds and if this can be used to help the future of the club then all the better.3 points

Time to put things into perspective surely? Speedway is a dangerous sport. If you are going to ride a bike with no brakes at high speed, there will sooner or later be injuries. In this case there seems to have been a serious one. So the meeting is abandoned. So what is the worst thing that can happen to a supporter? Your night is inconvenienced. In this case, you get free entry into another meeting later on in the season. Compare that to the rider in hospital. I'm sure if you wanted to check, you would find examples of rugby, football and other sports where matched have been abandoned because of a serious injury. I would be pretty sure the fans wouldn't be saying that they wouldn't be going back to another match because of it. If you want to watch a dangerous sport, you have to be prepared to put up with the risks involved.3 points

Full details on other channels but, briefly, Supporters' Club are backing and running the club's new 5-1 Draw. 120 numbers, £10 a month, monthly draw £500 first prize, £100 second and £600 to the club. Then they presented the club with a cheque for £1,000. Brilliant stuff.3 points

They can just use VPN's and the like sadly. Some of you just constantly feed it so it comes back for more and more. Just simply put on ignore and after total silence it will eventually get bored and go hassle elsewhere...3 points

I've had my eyes on Madsen for the last few years and we all have seen him beating these same GP riders in the leagues. So why did most of us think, including myself, that he wouldn't be doing this well in the series? Also, has anyone seen anything like Freddies move to miss Dudek? An amazing reaction in a split second.....could have been nasty!3 points

I agree with you, especially your last point i get the feeling the team was more Martin Phillip's selections. I don't know what kind of hold he has on Newcastle and what financial clout he has in the club. Ged Rathbone is at every home meeting. Interesting to see if he would get involved in the club in the future.2 points

Where's the pot holes then? Wasn't there last time I walked the track.2 points

No ,they were actually leaving and cars driving off the car park. It took us about 10 minutes to get off the car park. I can understand some making a run for it but to miss a last heat decider seems bonkers to me2 points

The worrying thing is, the promoters never learn from their previous mistakes. The sport is crying out for some professional people to run it.2 points

Sitting at Växjö airport reflecting on last night - a good nights racing once the first block of heats were complete. Lindgren a worthy winner, and Madsen finds speed that nobody else can - lots of talk as to how, but that’s for another day. Looked an incredibly harsh exclusion for Doyle in his final heat which ultimately cost him his spot in the semis, but I’m yet to see a replay. A steward at the venue told us the crowd was 5,500 - but I’m terrible at estimating so I wouldn’t like to guess either way. Final mention goes to Tai Woffinden who made our trip that little bit extra special - inviting myself, my wife and our almost 2 year old daughter into the pits, allowing her to sit on his bikes and sit in his pit bay - a true top man and his true form on a bike is only round the corner I’m sure. Next GP were attending is Cardiff, so Teterow and Vojens will be a tv job - looking forward to them already.2 points

Nope, do you have any idea how many more people won't return to Speedway while this continues to happen?2 points

Glad I decided to go home after the Lions match and not watch some of the N.L heats., to make sure I didn't go over the 4 hour's allowed in the car park as it takes me ages to walk back. My first visit since the long delay during the Redcar meeting.........don't think I will say anything else except I hope the rider recovers quickly.2 points

And also Ipswich rider Harris in for Lambert a Chapman controlled club these are the exact reasons why one man shouldn’t be allowed to own 3 clubs conflict of interests 110%2 points

It has been said by someone that the 40 minutes taken to prep the track between matches and the NL riders track walk did not unnecessarily delay proceedings because it took a similar time to remove the CL riders from the pits area and to then install the NL riders who then needed to warm up their bikes. If this is correct and was known about in advance then it is impossible to stage 2 matches in 4 hours and should not have been attempted.2 points

Sure the Panthers will have team orders in play to ensure Lynn get all 3 points and benefit buster.2 points

Eagles look stronger with Morris in for Kennett, could easily go their way.2 points

If following the model at other clubs (not just speedway) it will be year-round, and people can have as many numbers as they like. Totally agree this is a great move by club and supporters. The supporters have proved their ability to raise funds in the past, and channeling this ability towards funding the continuation of speedway in Berwick is a terrific move. All power to the new effort - a big 5-1 for the Bandits!2 points

Obviously having three meetings in as many days you can make a holiday out of it but giving the distance there was a decent turn out from Eastbourne. If only Berwick could get a southern tour together as in years gone by.2 points

Supporters are running a monthly draw on behalf of the club, £10 per number, the draw will take place during the last meeting of each month, if there is no meeting I`m guessing it will take place with the winners announced on club website, supporters Facebook page, club Facebook page. It was announced that the details will appear on the various media outlets over the next day or day or you will get your information then. Great to see the club and the supporters club working together.2 points

Well this was an evening of 2 halfs... or should I say 1 half and 2 fifteenths. Oh how I wish I'd left after the first match as so many others did, which was pretty good, the result was in doubt until the very end, lions put on a fighting come back, Scott Nicholls is a joy to watch around BP and Glasgow pretty much threw it away on the last bend of the last lap in heat 14. So after the first match I was quite looking forward to watching the cubs in action, I've never seen NL racing before so was quite intrigued as to what the standard would be and Cradley, as a long established NL team, I thought was quite a draw. The Lions promotion had started an hour earlier, and again for the 2nd double header this season ran the first meeting at normal (a snails) pace, with no seeming urgency to get the match completed, no flexibility to do the track grades when there's a natural break, some heats not even being put on 2 minutes and a couple of long gaps between races even when there were no riders having 2 races on the trot. Then we were told that the 2nd meeting would start after a short break... 45 minutes later after a swarm of tractors had tried to polish the turd that is the BP track, and was down to the base again in places, the 2nd meeting started. Well if that is the standard of NL racing, you can keep it. Admittedly I only saw 2 races, but if CL racing is riders following the leader 20 yards apart you can double it for NL. The quality of it didn't seem as good as the old 6 heat style second half's clubs used to run back in the 80's/90's And then the final nail in the coffin, again for the 2nd time this season, at Leicester inadequate medical cover. I say the 2nd time but it's probably more as the promotion still clearly have learnt nothing from the Redcar match in terms of medical cover and it looks like they're still running with 1 ambulance. They've also learnt nothing from the Sheffield/Stoke double header in terms of the pace of a meeting. No doubt the usual people will be on here again saying, nothing could be done, the first match was run as fast as possible and that the medical cover is adequate. Does the person that actually runs the meeting live in the same time dimension as the rest of us? Do they not realise that a lot of people use the Tesco BL car park and there is a 4 hour limit? factor in a 15 minute walk to and from the arena, then a double header HAS to be run in under 3 and a half hours Max. It became quite clear after the snails pace first match and then the 45 minute interval that the 2nd meeting was never going to finish as soon as it eventually started, especially with the Cubs running R/R and as soon as I saw the ambulance come onto the track after the heat 3 crash I decided to leave. It was quite a sad thing to see fans again streaming out of the stadium during a meeting and it's not the first time I've seen this at Leicester. As far as double headers are concerned I will not be attending any more. For the second time this season the Lions fans have been forced to subsidise the cubs and both times the cubs match has not taken place and both times there were quite healthy crowds, many of whom will not return.2 points

Madsen reminds me of Jan O. A small guy who seems to find grip where no one else can. I've bet on Zmarzlik to win, but from what I've seen this year Madsen's got to be favourite.2 points

I agree about Bickley, some riders are slower burners so he shouldn’t be written off but you wouldn’t expect him in his second season to be getting nought anywhere. You just get the feeling he should be doing a bit better than he is.1 point

*beep* *beep* *beep* ‘Extra’ ,Extra’ read all about it. Poole fan in underdog shocker. However, you have nothing to fear, foreverblue thinks ‘not too much should be read in to the Ipswich result as they are in free fall’. So, on the basis your mate is right, a fairly easy 3 points for you boys tomorrow.1 point

So you are not going to Leicester again, in case there is a delay and/or abandonment? That is your prerogative, but you staying away will not make a difference to the medical cover! And, apart from last night, where it was a bit 'gate and go', even you must admit that this year has seen some great racing at Leicester. Nose, spite & face phrase comes to mind.1 point

I'll be honest not sure of the rules for heat 15 but you could tell by the reactions afterwards that both Leon and Coty were well chuffed to have been in heat 15 and got a 5-1 out of it.1 point

That was too close for comfort last night, and it is a good job that I do not bit my fingernails otherwise I would not have any left. Teterow is a awkward round and with my current picks of late it might be better for me to draw the name of my rider out of a hat along with whether it will be a more or less bet.1 point

Not quite sure if I was at the same meeting as some on here as I thought much of the meeting was mostly poor with most races either from the gate or over by the end of the first lap on an ultra slick track. Berwick dominated throughout and were very worthy winners, sadly for Eastbourne only guest Nick Morris gave any real trouble to the home side, Kerr never really got going while Lawson started brightly but faded badly. Best wishes to NB Jacobsen on a speedy recovery from what looked a horrible accident.1 point

After the pathetic showing on Thursday, I can't believe there wasn't one rider out practicing after the meeting trying things out. Louis should have them all out there. Can't believe what Hawkins was doing either. The TS should've been used at the earliest possible time like heat 6-7, why wait until the match was virtually over and use it in heat 13 against Doyle & Batchelor who were both unbeaten and then to really extract the urine he puts Harris in heat 15. Clueless!!!1 point

Even less if league only. Junk at Foxhall,, have I ever mentioned that Should have started season with a lesser averaged rider that could average a reasonable amount at home. Sometimes the people that are responsible for putting a team together need their heads checking.1 point

And your comment is about as dated as on old BBC computer as graphics come very low down in the success of the most played games in the world these days. This game is all about playability and enjoyment, graphics utterly irrelevant.1 point

It's all very reminiscent of the debates about the Big Five in the old days. It was generally reckoned that the most gifted and most talented.rider was Ronnie Moore and the most spectacular to watch was Peter Craven, but for sheer determination and the most successful were Ove Fundin and Barry Briggs, both of whom would figure in most people's top riders of all times above Moore and Craven. It is all a matter of opinion and there are no right or wrong answers and depends on what it is that is regarded as the true mark of the "best".1 point
