  1. Ipswich wait until the match is all but lost, then use their tac sub against Doyle and Batchelor. Good tactics!

  2. An absolutely crazy situation to allow one rider to have his ban lifted but not the other. An absolute farce of a decision.

  3. They would have to be nuts to get rid of him

  4. Great to know that any rider can be a complete Bell end now, start a fight and get away with it now that a precedent has been set. Or does it depend who you get on your knees for ?

  5. At last, a proper fan starting a thread, well done

  6. You don't like him because he acts stupid. Yet everyone on the south coast of Poole absolutely loved Darcy Ward. Forgetting his talent, that kid was a proper d!©[<. Craig is very tame compared

  7. I think you'll find everyone out there has mental health issues these days! Regardless of the person(s) involved stigmatising mental health issues is a no go, think again.

  8. How can it get to 7.40pm to be revealed that Jason Garrity is guesting for Kyle Howarth? Nothing from either club

  9. Quite rightly if that happens, as well we know NONE of this would have occurred if he hadn't arrived with a negative attitude and subsequently ridden off when he shouldn't

  10. How old are you? As you come across as a petulant child incapable of mature debate.

  11. Maybe just maybe, Cook is being allowed to appeal because he thinks he was provoked and can provide evidence. Not saying he was or wasn't, that's what the appeal is for. If that's the case Kennett has no grounds for appeal as he just sprinted quite a way to get involved in a fracas.

  12. I’ve looked back at the old accounts for Belle Vue. There was no way that we would have paid one rider £100k in a season, even though we had Jason Crump (2008 and part of 2009) and Kasprzak (2009) at the top of their game. In 2009, our Sky income was just over £100k but we still lost about £65k. And that was for a team that finished bottom of the league which always keeps the wage bill down! Even then -10+ years ago - Britain was the poorest payer amongst the countries with professional leagues. The Sky money kept us afloat, but it certainly didn’t encourage anyone to overpay for quality riders.

  13. Whatever the provocation (and there was most definitely provocation) the man threw punches at the very least. if he gets no ban at all while Kennett and Vissing do; it will be a complete mockery of a decision.

  15. Great result and so much for the crap predictions by some. This is what the team is capable of doing, just need a similar performance at Poole.

  16. Swindon finally clicking as a team away from home - just in time for the play-offs Now who’s the in-form team?

  17. Not really. I don't like him cos he acts stupid. And wanting someone to get a punishment for starting a mass brawl is not a hate campaign. Called common sense. You don't want him punished at all which is very bizarre.

  18. Can’t see where any of the accused have got away with anything yet. Everybody should have a right of appeal whatever they have done.

  19. Must be one of the biggest scandals in modern speedway, that teams were paid £100k a season, and many of them did nothing but spend it on one rider for a season. The long term things you could do with that money.

  20. There is not enough difference between the two leagues now. In the days when Stoney was hitting maximums week in week out at workington he would do a meeting in the elite league and score 5 points as a reserve or second string. Nowadays championship heat leaders can be heat leaders in the premiership. The whole set up has lost its way and teams have lost their identities.

  21. I'm not bothered about getting into an argument about comparing averages, but the main thing that I miss from those days is the identity each team seemed to have, which is missing now. You knew the type of team (style wise) that each team would turn up with, there was always a good atmosphere with fans and usually some flash points with heroes/villains. Nowadays there's little, if any, of that kind of stuff. It seems like you could transplant any of the PL teams into another one now and nobody would bat an eyelid - if Leicester's 1-7 was signed by Sheffield, for instance, nobody would think any differently. It used to be a treat seeing the likes of Wilson, Stonehewer, Shields, Bjerre, etc coming to your track and taking on your number 1 (inflated averages or not) but now everything just seems so dull in the PL. The lack of teams has certainly contributed but it just seems an overall lack of personality in all parts (riders, teams, clubs).

  25. Last week I was behind someone who had been a regular are Hyde Road. He had visited the dog track once and decided it was poor entertainment and never been to speedway since. Having heard reports about the racing on offer at the NSS and seen an advert on the front page of the local paper he decided to have a look and brought a friend who had never been to speedway before. The racing was up to NSS standards, the main meeting was completed in a about 95 minutes and Chase the Ace kept everyone amused during the grading breaks. They both thoroughly enjoyed themselves, stayed to watch the second half Academy races and left promising to be back for the next meeting. The difficult part is to get people like those two to attend so that they can see what is on offer at the NSS. I am obviously biased but I think a good percentage would become regulars. Unfortunately, it isn't easy with so many other major sporting and other attractions in the Greater Manchester area competing for the leisure pound. Especially, with very limited resources to spend on advertising. The club is very active on social media and has advertised on local radio and print media. It also uses the Colts, with a £10 entrance fee and free for under 18's, to try to attract newcomers. Recent crowds have been better, so maybe it is beginning to work but it is always going be a slow process.

  30. Well I for one am very pleased Craig Cook is riding for the Tigers against Lions on Sat night - as a Lions fan , I want us to try and beat a strong Glasgow team with arguably the best rider in the Championship this year as opposed to one without.....

  39. I think Jon Cook made that sneer when he learned New Holland tractors - who had apparently turned down a Lakeside request for sponsorship - had linked up with Berwick. He reportedly contacted the NH bosses to tell them they should drop Berwick ("only a tin-pot Northern club" ) and link with the Hammers. Which they immediately - - didn't. Don't think it had anything to do with the late lamented Rockets.

  44. DC watches his Speedway at King's Lynn so that's exactly what he's saying. Racings crap, atmospheres crap but it's still value for money Apparently, Speedway fans should keep paying their hard earned £18 even though they're not enjoying the product If tracks close down, the finger is firmly on the owner, not being able to bring in enough punters to make it sustainable. That's where the buck stops. No blame and finger pointing should be had towards the fans at all. Fans are NOT responsible for the death of a once (and still can be) a great sport

  45. It's well known that Tungate is poor at Monmore, nothing to do with 'wobbling', he hasn't got enough skill to get round. Riders who think the throttle only has one position i.e. on, will always suffer at Sutherland avenue. And so it should be.

  49. I had a chat with Buster earlier,, and he said that Debbs is a lying xxxx. What he did say though is, if he could get all of Mr Greens alias to turn up to meetings, he would have to double the size of the stand.

  50. My view is that the club is more important than the owner . If supporters stop going to punish the current owner then they are effectively closing the club down. If that is what you want that is your affair , but it will be you that closes the club not the owner. Nobody is going to continue to lose money indefinitely. What supporters should be doing IMO is to create a club that another party would like to take over. The above is not in any way an endorsement of Mr Chapman
