  1. I think you will find that if the case was we wanted to beat the Gems that bad we would not have put Dave Pye in and instead got a guest of a higher caliber. Dave is not in our declared 3 man 500cc squad but Im very happy to use him as he has shown 100% commitment when asked to ride. We also had young Brandon Woblewski in who unfortunately his points don't count because of hi Polish passport. Would I have give him a ride if winning was everything ? Young Kyran Lyden would have taken the no 1 spot instead of Elliot Kelly but he didn't have a bike and as The Gems had already approached Ben to guest for Joe Alcock if Joe was unfit it seemed logical to get Ben a ride for the Cubs. If you would like me to go in to a few things that you have no idea about please feel free to PM me and I will happily discuss. Best Regards Gavin Parr ( Cubs team manager )

  2. Of course it was a f*****g head butt. Well he tried to any way. A shoulder barge doesnt result in your head flying forwards in that manner. Try it, preferably film it and do it very close to a block wall. Attempting a shoulder barge whilst both hands are on the bikes handlebars is laughable. He went in with his head there are no two ways about it, its clear to see on the video!

  3. It should be Dan Bewley and Drew Kemp- ridiculous decision. !!!! I hope someone asks Tai his thought’s on that selection when he appears on the BT match at Wolves tonight.

  4. Chris Louis saying that the decision is "Deplorable"... well thats not the only thing that the SCB have messed up. Whats just as deplorable imo is giving Danny King and Chris Harris the 2 track reserve positions at the Cardiff SGP. Should have been given to Bewley, Kemp, or Edwards.

  5. The real question is what will happen first. The new stadium or an away win?!!

  6. Ive been going to speedway for 38 years and ive never seen a marshall standing out in the middle of a track with a red flag Ive seen riders either buried in the fence or lying prostrate on the track and the red lights go on and the marshalls stand on the infield with flags out A red flag does not mean stop...........do riders stop at a red flag? No, they slow down expecting an incident to have occured. Cook was slowing and would no doubt have either left the track or stopped completely Im not condoning what Cook did next........but its absurd that neither the marshall or either Dugard have been reprimanded

  7. I think that’s a bit unfair on Craig, especially considering how late he came into speedway and his fast rise through the ranks to become one of the most consistent riders in the domestic leagues. When you consider how poor the money, set ups and support is in this country, it’s no surprise that we cannot produce the GP riders that Poland can. World achievers like Woffinden and Loram are rare, and we’ve even been lucky to have the likes of Harris and Nicholls in the home leagues. So, all in all, Craig is quite an inspiring example for young NL riders.

  8. Just as we were starting to move forward seemed to have taken a backwards step recently. This being one of these backwards steps. Least cook made the sensible decision of declining it unlike the other two looking to grasp on to any chance at high level speedway they can get.

  9. Ironic that Havelock uses Twitter to communicate as he has hardly string a sentence together that is either understandable or coherent.

  10. Shame any of them were banned,, they should have got them in a ring for the Ben fund. Speedway often had dust ups and face offs,, was great for crowd, but it seems now most of the crowd are a bunch of snowflakes wanting riders banned.

  11. If panthers cant afford the likes of bellego and other average riders they shouldn't be anywhere near premier league.

  12. Passing after Bend 2 in Heats 3, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 with close finishes in 2 and 10. That's way more than in your average speedway meeting, this on a track affected by rain beforehand and with pretty poor opposition in the main.

  13. Track being criticized by a Poole and Stoke fan lol

  14. So the meeting is still a week away and we've already got 4 pages of mostly carp.

  15. I think Tai has been criticised too for his actions sometimes. Cook thinks he is better than he is and comes over as a petulant kid who thinks the world owes him.

  16. I get fed up with some of the posters on here who slag Craig of at every opportunity.wish they give him a break

  17. I see that King and Harris are the track reserves, surely they should change the track reserves to be a nomination rather than who finishes 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc. With all due respect King and Harris have been to Cardiff multiple times before, and experience for our younger riders would be more beneficial. Cookie has obviously declined this and it's passed down to Harris next in line. Winning the British Final is a different matter, if Harris wins obviously he deserves to be there etc. Surely if it's a nomination, common sense will prevail, i.e If say Danny Ayres finished top 3, although he can't be classed as younger rider he would deserve at least one shot at Cardiff based on the British Final result. It makes GB Speedway look a mockery to the rest of the speedway world IMO, and looks like we have no talent coming through.

  18. So no punishment for the fkn Dugard's and Eastbourne staff you couldn't make it up, they fueled the situation to33ers!

  19. Those three meetings were early season werent they? Poole have been improving week by week , and are the form side and red hot favourites for the title. Ipswich have gone the other way. your the one who added the comments that Poole won because they outgated Ippo.... who cares? You were beaten fair and square, it doesnt matter how. And i have a great life thanks and enjoy two holidays per year ... a week up the east coast of Australia (thats the big country next to New Zealand on the map) and a week on the West coast of Australia. You maybe able to afford that if you stop spunking your wages on webcam girls on twitter

  20. Big blow for Danny and not the way he'd have wanted to end the season. And from what I seen of Danny he'll feel he's letting both Scunthorpe and Mildenhall down which couldn't be further from the truth he as been a pleasure to watch and always gives his all. I look forward to seeing him race again at the EWR hopefully in sunny colours but if not I'm sure he'll get a very warm welcome back

  21. I also applaud the quick decisions that have been taken, but punishment MUST be given to certain members of the Eastbourne management too.

  22. Desperately unlucky for Danny a serious injury through no fault of his own...He will be sorely missed by all who love to be entertained by him fot the rest of this season most likely...Best wishes for a complete and speedy recovery Danny...

  23. I applaud the SCB for the way they have handled this, investigated, and handed out their decision and bans all as quickly as possible. Looks like Kennett has accepted his ban though Ipswich haven't, for the life of me I can't see how they can argue against their riders ban.

  25. Sorry Lisa, don’t agree with you this time. Cook was slowly strolling to the pits, after several wind ups, with no danger to others. The marshal could have calmly guided him in instead of deliberately walking into a moving bike. The plank that then got in his face caused the mayhem.

  27. Been said already but Woffy being involved in the presentation of the British Final and here tonight has really taken things up a notch or 2, the racing isn't great tonight but the insight he's provided so far have been excellent, informative and amusing, the lad is a natural.

  37. I agree that there was no reason for the 3 Glasgow riders to ride off during the parade....petulant at worst The facts are simple Cook shouldnt have left the parade The knock on reaction of this was that a marshall stepped on the track Cook was hardly going any speed and had slowed right down , before whatever reason the marshall thinks it would be a good idea to walk into a moving bike Cook then over reacted with a shoulder barge....(headbutt lol) We then get Paul Dugard getting up into Cooks face and then it all kicks off We then get Kennett running to join in along with Martin Dugard Im no fan of Cook but those wanting him banned for longer are blinkered totally Kennett and Vissing rightly banned to Paul Dugard should be banned from Arlington...................Martin Dugard should recieve a hefty fine or a ban.........for those fools who believe Cook did a headbutt, watch Dugard on Vissing

  38. Out of control Cook what on earth where you watching He was doing about 10mph and would have been absolutely no danger to anyone if he had have continued riding round. I dont condone him being on the track.....but out of control is a daft statement The bans are fair ...but the Dugards need to be reprimanded ....or is it ok for Martin to aim a headbutt

  39. Danny Ayres fantastic lad on and off the track. Always gives 100% effort and always gives the fans a wave and thanks. We have had the pleasure at Scunthorpe to listen to his after match comments several times this season and he comes across as a genuine nice guy, quite humble, fiercely self critical and keen to learn to improve at every opportunity. Hope his injury today at Mildenhall has not put paid to his excellent season. Get well soon Danny.

  42. Punishment should be a fine unless the club is also at fault. Glasgow and maybe Kings Lynn will ride without Cook which may take numbers off the gate. Weakened teams are no good for the fans or the clubs. Why punish innocent parties when they could fine the rider a fixed sum. Its going to rain this week which means a ban may also be worthless. No surprise Cookie comes back the day of the GP Challenge.

  43. Guests invariably don't deliver, such a horrible position to be in The SCB must reconsider Cookie's ban!

  44. Suspending these riders only causes more problems than are solved. Fines have to be the right way of dealing with it, together with appropriate levels of punishment for their clubs. To begin with, fine the riders their earnings from that match, then a percentage from a set number of matches from now onwards.

  45. Passion...... half way through a riders presentation??? if you get to that point before the other team has even been announced you need to either up your medication or find another career

  46. As a Marshall myself I know I’m not allowed onto the track when riders are on bikes, something I sign to say I understand and comply with health and safety issues. Red flags are shown from the infield of the track. So it’s not an opinion at all.
    2 points
  47. The red lights came on as they entered bend 2. Just before the video started. So no red lights were ignored at all. Soon as the red lights came on you can see craig heading towards the open gate to get off track.
    2 points
  48. They should also for the safety issues it caused on the night. The job of a marshal is NEVER to stand on the track waving a red flag at any time. So no he wasn’t doing his job. Irrelevant. The minute a rider gets on his bike no marshal is meant to be on the track. Don’t be silly. The marshal would NEVER be instructed to stop a rider! A marshals job is to wave a red flag from the infield at all times. That’s it. The Marshal was an out Of control fool. As a marshal I can answer that. You have to sign a health and safety form at the start of the season. Flag marshal responsibilities are to red flag if the red lights come on and not before. You wave flag from designated area on infield, designated for SAFETY for all. Also to ensure anyone (Press/visitor/mascot/sponsor etc) stays behind the designated area usually from the safety of the middle of the centre green. You aren’t allowed to enter the track when riders on on their bikes on the track, wear visible clothing, you aren’t meant to tamper with any bikes unless it’s to turn off fuel taps (unless you have experience of the bikes) even after a crash. At no time does it suggest you can stand in the middle of the track flagging when riders are on track. Ever. Completely agree. Health and safety issues have to be paramount.

  49. There should be mention made of the responsibilities of the Eastbourne promotion to ensure all Marshals are aware of their responsibilities which include keeping themselves and others safe from harm. There is an infield line on centre greens for a reason at all tracks, it’s the SAFE distance a marshal should stand between centre green and track. And NEVER on track when bikes are on. If Eastbourne aren’t held accountable or put out there own statement about safety of staff then no lessons will be learned and it’s yet another accident waiting to happen.

  50. One thought about this meeting. Anyone who was there must have seen the incredible battle for third between Chad Wirtzfeld and Arron Butcher in heat 9. Brilliant stuff as both riders refused to give in and didn't allow an inch. Probably the best race I have seen this season, huge credit to both lads and proof you don't need superstars for quality entertainment.
