The Facenna regime have done as much as can to make a Speedway night out a success and have improved the crowds. They deserve a lot of credit given the state the sport is in.6 points

Very decent meeting tonight Both teams played a part even though the score flattered Birmingham a bit. Redcar were always in control. The Bears will be a real threat at play off time. With an excellent heat leader trio, two firing second strings and a points scoring reserve they will be a handful for anyone. Having been both furious and appalled at the actions of no less than three promotions over the last week or so (and those three won't get any money off me for a while) I was most impressed tonight. For a start, in the programme Jitendra Duffil directly addressed fans concerns (are you watching Plymouth) over entry fees last week, and agreed to fund reductions where necessary. He then went to express his gratitude for the support that he had been given after the previous weeks meeting. The programme also had an interesting article about set ups, which we here a lot about but which to some are a complete mystery. Then we had the brilliant sight of youngsters on the centre green dancing with Smoggy the mascot, some of whom were from the radiation affected arears of the Ukraine and Belarus, who had all been equipped with the requisite Redcar flags. Finally, there was Roy Clarke speaking to a young lady who had just got engaged and the playing of Cliff Richard's 'Congratulations'. All in all, 10 out of 10 for the promotion and to pay them a huge compliment, in terms of family atmosphere you were right up there with Isle of Wight. PS Pleasure to meet Sidewinder tonight but slightly perturbed that he knew who I was. One promotion will definitely have me in their gunsights5 points

Its sad that some are trying to be snidey at and belittle what should be seen as a greatly positive achievement to raise attendances to this level It shows the way that others should try to emulate4 points
-
It might handicap them, but it won't bankrupt them. Expensive foreign imports nearly put the club out of business in its EL days. If it wasn't for Bob Dugard the club wouldn't be alive today.4 points

Quite enjoyed that meeting. Track was a bit slick due to the expected rain that never came but still a fairly decent night. Felt the Bears were fairly comfortable throughout the night, but Birmingham still put up a decent fight. Good solid effort for the Bears, and Stewart and Andersen thoroughly deserved heat 15. Sgood to see Woolley in the mix, brought the house down with his point! Birmingham battled hard, and thought Castagna in particular was excellent value. From what I had read on here, expected a white line hugger but he was anything but tonight - very entertaining!3 points

I enjoyed the meeting too - some excellent races and the patched up Brummies team gave a good show (helps having a couple of ex Bears riding as guests). Paco was very entertaining to watch. Bears look a very solid team now and we have yet to have Riss ride at home. Biggest cheer of the night reserved for Woolley getting his point. Loved seeing the kids having a great time with Smoggy (who always does an excellent job)3 points

Weakened this stronger that,,, who cares, out of the two teams on display last night Poole won fair and square, poole also won last week fair and square,,,, currently Poole are the better team.3 points

There's irony for you, someone coming in, as a replacement, for the person, who replaced them initially.3 points

It's not being fickle, it's being sensible. The cost of fuel and the journey time is bad enough, without gambling with a dodgy weather forecast. It's down to the individual to weigh up the risks.3 points

Home many aliases per team ? Is it one or two for every team in the UK or have you broadened out into Europe .3 points

No. Sam Masters guests and we have Ben Barker at 5 with Ulrich switching back to 23 points

I think the “track issues” at Poole should drop off the agenda now that Poole has: 1/ Taken remedial action. 2/ Are using a Bar Grader instead of the cow plop blade. 3/ Had the the track standard “audited” by an independent “expert”.3 points

Every weather forecaster has its positives and negatives, probably none better than looking out the window and forecasting yourself.2 points

Another thing going in Ben's favour Scunny are at Edinburgh in a couple of weeks2 points

Well 2 wins over the mighty witches in the space of a week, and still not a peep from the King of stats2 points

Feels a bit like Poole are running scared of the witches. They think they should beat us but know on our day we could easily take them over 2 legs...2 points

Criminal is the word i would use esp when u think it was left alone when not used between 1987 -1999, town board have alot to answer for, but as have said before hit them where it hurts in the pocket dont go to town games go to haven instead.2 points
-
Maths not your strong point? Max points Poole could have scored was 7pts. We only got 3 at Ipswich! So the score is Poole 6pts from 7, Ipswich 1pts from 7.2 points

neil basically done the track as normal ray, however following the referees report from the last home meeting complaints from two riders were followed up,the head honcho was going to be at poole but he sent his deputy who arrived wed, thought the track was good, he was there all day thurs observing and monitoring track prep, apparently he was more than pleased and gave track staff and track a big thumbs up,so well done to neil and the team2 points

There seemed to be an increase in the numbers watching the meeting, I expect it to rise again against Belle Vue next week.2 points

How? not so long ago Wells was one of the top riders in the PL. he should be beating kennett and allen espiecially.2 points

I would keep Ben Barker, might not be as good as Jason at the EWR but I think he is probably better on the away tracks. If Scunny are going to reach the play offs they are going to need to win away at least once more, Berwick and Birmingham are the best chances both tracks Barker would be handy at.2 points

pretty sure B&G doesn't have BT Sports - The Angel, Blenheim, White Horse, Red Lion and Leaping Salmon all have BT and show live football ... as for speedway, you could always ask.1 point

The crowds are Poor ...I know this have been spoken about but what is scary is the age of the crowd when you looked about . it's amazing how many of the crowd are oap's so you do wonder how bad it will get in the next few years with the lack of young people watching the sport1 point

Tonight at Redcar they all got it wrong. Every single one predicted rain and there was none.1 point

You were honoured. I bumped into him today, in Screw Fix.. Couldn't get a word out of him1 point

Thats fine - just piles all the pressure on Poole. If they win its expected and so what and if not they have choked1 point

Well, Old Bob. How would YOU deal with accidents ? Just decide not to attend to injured riders, let them lie where they fall and continue the meeting ? Actually, when I go to Kent, which is almost every week now that Lakeside are shut, most weeks I am leaving the stadium just after 8 O'Clock following a 6.30 start. Accidents are the only hold up. Personally I can't think of a solution to that. I will be pleased to learn something from Old Bob of Herne Bay.1 point

The biggest improvement that I can see (post the major rework) is that the track staff have retired “the blade” and are now using a bar grader. Long may that continue.1 point

Final analysis: 2 teams both riding home and away, over 2 meetings = Poole - 7 league points. Ipswich - 1.......1 point

Some riders never learn it. As for Josh lets remember he can (and does) go fast to win many races, indeed fast enough to be the track record holder at Leicester. Time will tell as to what level & how quickly he will progress by learning how to funnel his undoubted determination to succeed in such a way that helps his development rather than hinders it. Meanwhile lets hope he makes a full recovery and is back on his bike ASAP.1 point

Let’s be honest. It has been proved that a weak injury depleted Poole team are better than a full strength Ipswich team, home or away.1 point

So come on Hawkins fans,,, what's going on with not giving reserves extra rides when it's looking obvious they should be getting them.1 point

Hi Sid, it's actually an old article that appeared in Backtrack a couple of years ago. You've probably got it.1 point

There is no doubt in my mind that as Neil and Ged have said that the original team was in budget, I also feel that as Neil told me personally both he and Ged intended to remain as promoters albeit with Buster as owner. Seems to me they were subsequently shafted and then I suspect betrayed by those that they had previously considered as friends. Despite not going public it speaks volumes that one of the biggest Panthers Fans both practically and financially has walked away.1 point

Probably why over 40000 fans attend the Cardiff GP annually. 3 hours of entertainment, good facilties, and the ticket prices haven't increased for years.1 point
