A much tougher task awaits the glorious Glasgow Tigers this week , 7 days after their ruthless rout of the hapless Brummies . The Broon Ale boys roll into town and we have to tackle them without Mr Maximum . Yes Cookie has been banished to the Siberian Salt mines to take part in that silly Speedway of Nations nonsense this weekend . That leaves us scratching about hunting for a guest ( how do you replace perfection ) with only really someone like Son of God fitting the bill and available . Apart from that , we should be along the usual lines , while the Geordies have strengthened up since they were here last . They gave Jacob Buckfast a go for 10 minutes , but quickly dumped him when Ulrich Oystercard became available . Which meant Cleggy from Last of the summer wine dropped to reserve and they have a real solid look about them , plus Danny Phillips . Should be a hard fought encounter and hopefully we get the weather to do it justice . See you all in the Charlie Monk stand on Friday .5 points

Hawkins is shocking isn't he? How did Heeps have 4 rides? Why give Scotty 4 rides? Kennett and Allen should have utilised more surely?5 points

They moan when he posts and they moan when he doesn’t. Unbelievable4 points

Bit silly signing a rider you dont rate as good enough to be competitive on his new home track3 points

Harris would have made this an away win. Looks very much like Poole got away with one here3 points

We have been hit from the start with Bad Luck,, not for the want of trying. The decision to release riders was a good decision, replacing them with riders with a future. However we are 3 heat leaders out injured !!! who do we get in place of ?? its late in the season unless management has a card up their sleeve. Come on supporters get behind the Club, or loose it !3 points

Happened for years , that is why it will never be taken seriously.2 points

Perhaps he has done a Shovlar and disappeared off the planet for a while when his team loses! It happens.2 points

Rained overnight and early morning in Poole but no more forecasted today!! Middlo flying back from Majorca today so will be extra interesting in the pits tonight. For home fans its always good to see Lawson in the pits - especially if he has his missus with him!!2 points

And the racing at the AFA is equally poor. 12 from 15 heats are tapes to flag processions. Buster is even incapable of setting up a good racing track when the TV reaches any of his tracks. Is that deliberate or lack of ability? His "saving" of the TV contract has this season become an even more pathetic advert for UK speedway, with very few elderly supporters watching the four bikes play follow the leader almost inevitably. So why has it ended up like that? A statement seems long overdue Chairman Chapman. What does he think he is "selling". Excitement, speedy thrills, close racing? He is serving up none of those. even a move to One Big league ( which I would like to see ) will not improve the racing one whit unless the issue of the bikes and the tracks is addressed. UK speedway is dead in the water under Chapman & Godfrey.2 points

You didn't hear any Panthers fans moaning on Dec 20th despite Chapman. Perhaps you need to think a bit harder about it and ask what went wrong from that point and who was responsible?2 points

Quite likely....P'boro is Chapman's sanctuary for dumped and unwanted riders2 points

Yes Luke and Douglas look to be only bright lights and riders that are worth keeping for next season.1 point

I feared the Thorsell, Morris partnership tonight. What a waste of worrying that was!1 point

Not sure that's true in relation to Newcastle. Yes we have pollution problems, but it has been pointed out to Newcastle Council that that the tolls don't do anything to stop the pollution in the first instance so the clear air problem would still be with us. Being a Labour led Council, and always moaning about government cuts, it's likely that the council see it as a money spinner to get more money in their coffers. Liverpool and Newcastle are probably the hardest hit of the larger councils with the cuts.1 point

Probably ... But every topic you start on the meetings you will still have Poole as the underdogs1 point

We all laughed when Heeps had four rides. Looks like the bubble has well and truly popped there! Patched up Pirates do it again.1 point

Jesus, this has went from Bates showing a lack of control, to Armadale being the worst track in the league!!!! Talk about going of topic1 point

Any idea of Noocastle's line up? I had a guess of... 1. Worrall 2. Ulrich 3. Bjerre 4. Matty 5. TJ 6. Clegg 7. Weakest Link1 point

i'm going. Haven't been to the IOW in years and never to the speedway1 point

It was the riders and management of both teams that said what a fantastic meeting it was!!1 point

Everyone is entitled to the odd off night they all have them. He’s generally been very good all season and pretty consistent. Much better than I was expecting in all honesty.1 point

Wells cost you the win last night. Maybe we have tapped him up and he has asked Wolbert the best way to manipulate his average .1 point

Wow! Still having more problems with the forum, eh? All these posts disappearing... Where, oh where, can they be? Any idea, Mr. H???1 point

Part of me is pleased that Porsing is coming back. Always thought he was a rider who had so much to give. Unfortunate, his form was too erratic, and his his good scores were as frequent as his bad ones were.. Cant help thinking this has come too late to rescue the season and should have been explored months ago.. I would be much more excited if they announced we were getting a new track man, who has been given a free hand to produce decent track. Where once we use to be ultra keen for the next meeting to come round, now we look for any excuse not to go, cause we are so fed up watching drab processional races...... Will he ever learn......1 point

Spot on. If every club (no exceptions) had a professional website & social media approach, matching team suits and bike covers and a properly prepared track it wouldn’t cure every problem but the sport would come across one hundred times better than it currently does. As you say the bar representing the acceptable bare minimum needs to be raised way, way higher than it is now.1 point

Agree but I don’t think anybody currently involved could do what is necessary to save British Speedway. Needs a third party who can see potential to come in, grab it by the scruff of the neck and see the wood for the trees.1 point
-
C’mon,he appears to be out of control of the bike at some stage in most races. There is grip on most tracks you have be aware of where it is.There was nobody near him when he crashed.1 point

Dirt from the inside out, now there`s a novelty.1 point

Agree. We all thought it was a joke in that first year but the standard improved and it was a success in the end. Hopefully they see sense and bring it back but won't hold my breath.1 point
