A much tougher task awaits the glorious Glasgow Tigers this week , 7 days after their ruthless rout of the hapless Brummies . The Broon Ale boys roll into town and we have to tackle them without Mr Maximum . Yes Cookie has been banished to the Siberian Salt mines to take part in that silly Speedway of Nations nonsense this weekend . That leaves us scratching about hunting for a guest ( how do you replace perfection ) with only really someone like Son of God fitting the bill and available . Apart from that , we should be along the usual lines , while the Geordies have strengthened up since they were here last . They gave Jacob Buckfast a go for 10 minutes , but quickly dumped him when Ulrich Oystercard became available . Which meant Cleggy from Last of the summer wine dropped to reserve and they have a real solid look about them , plus Danny Phillips . Should be a hard fought encounter and hopefully we get the weather to do it justice . See you all in the Charlie Monk stand on Friday .5 points

Hawkins is shocking isn't he? How did Heeps have 4 rides? Why give Scotty 4 rides? Kennett and Allen should have utilised more surely?5 points

The same Pugh that sold the stadium to Barrat Homes! (off subject I know, just wanted to put the boot in!).4 points

They moan when he posts and they moan when he doesn’t. Unbelievable4 points

Bit silly signing a rider you dont rate as good enough to be competitive on his new home track3 points

Harris would have made this an away win. Looks very much like Poole got away with one here3 points

We have been hit from the start with Bad Luck,, not for the want of trying. The decision to release riders was a good decision, replacing them with riders with a future. However we are 3 heat leaders out injured !!! who do we get in place of ?? its late in the season unless management has a card up their sleeve. Come on supporters get behind the Club, or loose it !3 points

Happened for years , that is why it will never be taken seriously.2 points

Perhaps he has done a Shovlar and disappeared off the planet for a while when his team loses! It happens.2 points

Rained overnight and early morning in Poole but no more forecasted today!! Middlo flying back from Majorca today so will be extra interesting in the pits tonight. For home fans its always good to see Lawson in the pits - especially if he has his missus with him!!2 points

Ah that explains a lot, I never did find him in the game either.2 points

And the racing at the AFA is equally poor. 12 from 15 heats are tapes to flag processions. Buster is even incapable of setting up a good racing track when the TV reaches any of his tracks. Is that deliberate or lack of ability? His "saving" of the TV contract has this season become an even more pathetic advert for UK speedway, with very few elderly supporters watching the four bikes play follow the leader almost inevitably. So why has it ended up like that? A statement seems long overdue Chairman Chapman. What does he think he is "selling". Excitement, speedy thrills, close racing? He is serving up none of those. even a move to One Big league ( which I would like to see ) will not improve the racing one whit unless the issue of the bikes and the tracks is addressed. UK speedway is dead in the water under Chapman & Godfrey.2 points

You didn't hear any Panthers fans moaning on Dec 20th despite Chapman. Perhaps you need to think a bit harder about it and ask what went wrong from that point and who was responsible?2 points

Quite likely....P'boro is Chapman's sanctuary for dumped and unwanted riders2 points

I would keep Ben Barker, might not be as good as Jason at the EWR but I think he is probably better on the away tracks. If Scunny are going to reach the play offs they are going to need to win away at least once more, Berwick and Birmingham are the best chances both tracks Barker would be handy at.1 point

The top three are looking very closely matched, so if they stay injury free the play offs could be good.1 point

What you really think shovlar will give credit to an away team for getting any points.1 point

But it doesn’t really matter, bring on the playoffs. Nicholls the same as Harris you don’t have a clue.1 point

There is no doubt in my mind that as Neil and Ged have said that the original team was in budget, I also feel that as Neil told me personally both he and Ged intended to remain as promoters albeit with Buster as owner. Seems to me they were subsequently shafted and then I suspect betrayed by those that they had previously considered as friends. Despite not going public it speaks volumes that one of the biggest Panthers Fans both practically and financially has walked away.1 point

Thinking of popping along to the next home meeting as a few Ex Bees riders racing for Somerset, just waiting to see the team Brum will be fielding.1 point

Quite simple really, we have been pants so far this season and struggling everywhere, barely able to win heats 13 and 15, even at home , so getting sam back is a no brainer. Vic and Joel can`t score 15 between them on the road, sam on his own gives us a big hitter. We have a long tail granted, but the previous line up could not win races away. The point at the league leaders suggests a good move, albeit a little late, at least a week in my book , but the red tape might explain that. At least we are competitive and capable of getting 40 away, before hand we were not.1 point

Get the track right then work on the team....atm, sign anyone that can gate and we'll win every meeting! If it's true about 'Terry' (trackman) giving up (wish him well btw) then we've got big problems if last night is anything to go by? Get Priest/Browning back asap!1 point

It's the repetitive nature of the opposition that is killing it IMO. Best racing in years but seeing KL 3 times in 2 months is not appealing. Speedway is dying in this country and there is no way back with no hope of any new tracks anywhere. The stadium owners are no doubt sitting tight and waiting for it to happen so they can make millions on the land without having to build the new stadium. That idiot Tomlinson is probably in on it now as well. He's gone very quiet about the new stadium.1 point

There are some great kids coming thru. Both Thompson twins, Leon Flint, Kemp, the Mcgurks, Jordan Palin to name a few. Think only Flint is 16. So yes a huge step up for them in next year or 2. IF it does go to one big league next year I hope they keep minimum one youngster at reserve for all teams. For their progression I’d like to see number 7s in the top flight all youngsters. And heat 8 protected as well, that way they get 2 races with their opposite number. Bring back the 2 point minimum average for top flight and include the kids at 7. We can all see how the Poles push their next generation. Guaranteed to stay at reserve as well. The only way clubs will invest in youth. The better clubs will cream the best kids but you only have to look at the best Polish teams who have 2 power packed reserves. The richest clubs will pay for the best kids, which is fine in my books If it means we put in a structure for the future. And not simply for a year quick fix.1 point

I AM told that info from the MSDL hasn't been forthcoming this season but there will be something in next week's issue.1 point

Do you not think the clubs that have already held them didn’t lose money on it then?. What a total lack of interest in British speedway the owners of Poole have shown. How you can even defend this is beyond me as it’s one of the very reasons the sport is on its knees.1 point

I've not commented on this yet outside of my own forum so how cheery should I be given that the Chris Harris select roll into town to plunder the points yet again and the management team (yes I'll call them that because I've no idea what anyone does apart from Johnson being the mouthpiece) serve up the next different circuit which Panthers (mostly slow starting or not bright enough to ride the white line or thereabouts on turn one) can't race on. on June 26 Johnson added: “The track is getting better and better with every meeting that goes by. “It’s fast but it’s also exciting and I don’t think anyone could have any complaints about what they’ve seen here this season.” As a semi retired keyboard warrior without a clue, last night generally: track, presentation and atmosphere was thoroughly depressing and that view is based on many more years as a fan than he's seen as a manager/promoter. Rant over, for now1 point
