  1. This has become more open to a wider audience since green light go created his profile just to highlight the situation. You have to wonder who has something to gain out of a this becoming public, who made it public and if they regret doing so now that more details are coming out ? Seeing now that he’s been credited with some work that wasn’t his AMOW isn’t bullying, it’s claiming what’s rightfully yours

  2. Spoke to Chris at the stadium on Monday as it seems he’s more comfortable coming along now after the hurt of what went on.

  4. Cannot believe some on here can say it isn't strictly bullying as it was a private WhatsApp group, sorry but it is bullying and it is unacceptable. I'd tend to agree with the posts above that it's a lot of sad, old men who have had it their own way for too long and now they have a bit of competition. However, and having said all that, if Taylor is getting a leg up because of his dad and Pearson then it's not right. Pearson seems to be slowly taking over all speedway media recently, including these "special" programmes we get for the shared events. I did note in the recent SoN programme that Pearson had something to do with the company that makes them. These jobs for the boys are the kind of crap that speedway could do without, and just carries on from the Terry Russell days. We'll never get fair media now we'll just get whatever Pearson wants. Whatever the truth is, bullying of a 17 year old child is pathetic, but perhaps not unexpected from some of those involved.

  5. Great stuff i am so glad Chris feels like that, it would be great if he could don his leathers again and have a few laps around the place he helped create. The track now would of suited Chris down to the ground he is one of the best riders that i have ever seen who could come from the back a real racer nobody in front of him was ever safe his move on Carter in the 1983 NLRC was awesome.

  6. At 16 its a big challenge regardless of all the other circumstances. One for the long term and with his parents coming with him is hopefully more Nick Morris than Jayden O'Malley. Connor Coles has done a thoroughly decent job in the meantime.

  7. Not sure the best idea is to have it out on a public forum or even social media for that matter. It has nowt to do with us. In the meantime I'm grabbing my popcorn

  8. I appreciate 5.30pm isn't going to suit everyone, but some of the comments on other social media are downright ridiculous. Saying that it's too late for people who travel long distance to get home and get kids ready for school etc. So how did they manage it after a 7.30pm (which actually only moved a few seasons ago from 7.45, may I add) start on a Thursday night, then??? As I said, I realise it won't suit everyone, and I'm sorry for those who miss out, but at least provide a sensible argument.

  9. Surely Danny Ayres has been a terrific signing? With Jedd's average not allowed to drop below 4.00, he was going to be stuck in the main body of the side, before Scorpions made a team change and introduced Danny. Keeping Jedd at either No 4 or No 2 would have destroyed his confidence. Now Rob's plan is that Jedd will come in at reserve, alongside Ryan Kinsley, and it's all possible due to the signing of Danny Ayres in the meantime, who is maintaining an average of over 4.00. Without Danny, we could have easily lost one or two more home meetings - I think his signing was inspired and has been essential. As well as scoring the points, he's also an entertainer, a team man and a positive influence in the pits. I think one of the best things to happen to Scunthorpe this season is Danny Ayres.

  10. Think it is about time I posted on this thread as some of it seems to be about me. My name is Ian Adam and I have been a photographer at Glasgow Speedway since 1991 of there abouts. I first met Taylor Lanning in 2015 as I knew his dad Phil Lanning from many years back at Shawfield Speedway. His dad asked me as he was interested in photography if he could take some photos on the centre green technically I should have said no as he was only 13/14 at the time but as Phil was a friend I said yes. Phil also asked me for some help in picking cameras and I have pointed him in the right direction in picking up good deals in lenses. Along these years I have been more that happy to pass onto Taylor tips on how to capture the action and I think now seeing where he is and the quality he is producing my help and training has paid off. Now it appears that according to Phil I have been involved in bullying his son for over two years an allegation that I strongly deny I have never bullied Taylor Lanning if I have where is the evidence. During this alleged two years bullying Phil and Taylor have shared a table with my family at the Tigers End of Season dance, 4 years running and no mention of bulling was raised at the table I also shared a car with Phil and Taylor to the SON meeting at Belle Vue in 2018 stopping off at Bolton for some lunch again no mention of bullying at any time during the trip. Phil also arranged for me to obtain a photographer pass for the Dubai Airshow in November 2017 and again no mention of bullying also in December 2018 I attended a Christmas Speedway function with Phil and again no mention of bullying at any time during the day. I was a member of a UK wide Speedway Photographers WhatsApp group which this season raised concerns about the number of tracks that Phil and Taylor were turning up at and taking photographs at without any prior introduction to the track photographers based there which should be a done as a form of courtesy which now appears to have been an oversight which Nigel Pearson has apologies to all the photographers for, and it may have turned into a bit of a moan fest but I do not see this as a from of bullying as it was not directed at any individuals and it was raised on a private chat group. The poster GreenLightGo seems to know a lot about this situation so I am more that happy to share with them my home phone number and we can have a chat and I will be happy to explain the facts to them and answer their questions I also notice they are a regular at Ashfield again I would be happy to meet them after a meeting at Ashfield and discuss. I believe the management at Glasgow are going to have a full investigation into these serious allegations, as they should and I commend them caring out this investigation, I have informed them I am more that happy to fully cooperate with this investigation. I will say again I have never bulled Taylor Lanning.

  13. Spoke to Hoggy a couple of weeks ago and although he will be getting involved with presenting events at the Cardiff GP and attending a meeting in Poland otherwise he has no role in speedway at present. That's a shame, particularly as his nearest track (Scunthorpe) are in serious need of a meeting presenter.

  15. I was appalled to learn of some disgusting behaviour of a group of speedway photographers against a 17yr old kid. At Glasgow we have a young man learning his trade and producing some fantastic stuff. He has been subject to an appalling bullying campaign by jealous photographers who are subjecting him to a hate campaign. They were recently busted by someone who screen shotted their WhatsApp group. The guys in question are the Leicester photographer, the Edinburgh photographer and 2 from Belle Vue. I appalled to say that 2 from Glasgow are also involved. i understand that this is being investigated by the BSPA. Personally I will no longer be purchasing any pictures from these guys until I see a public apology. i suggest you do too.

  20. I think the much maligned David Gordon deserves as much credit as Mort does. For all that happened at Belle Vue during their tenure, the NSS simply wouldn't exist without their combined effort and determination - and that was in the face of a great deal of scepticism, cynicism and downright abuse from right across the speedway spectrum, from members of this forum to other promotions. I got told that one prominent member of the BSPA was especially dismissive. I remember getting a lot of flak for buying one of the bricks that were sold at the time the stadium was conceived. I can say quite honestly that every time I go into the grandstand now I view it with great pride and pleasure. It is sad that - and I stand to be corrected here - neither Gordon nor Morton attend Belle Vue regularly and it would be fitting if, in view of his overwhelming contribution to Belle Vue Speedway for nearly half a century, one of the stands bore Chris Morton's name.

  24. How did your promotion fair . Announce a team with no intention of running seems a touch worse dropping 7 riders before turning a wheel than one after a few meetings.

  27. You are absolutely right. If only someone had thought of doing this before . . . . http://www.birmingham-speedway.com/page.php?182 I did this with good success when I was at Birmingham in my last season with them and I know some of these people still go. But to make a real success of it then it has to be done season on season. It takes a lot of time, effort, organisation and attention to detail. For example everyone who came on this scheme had their photograph taken on arrival and that photo was on the official web site before the end of the meeting, so when they got home and checked the official web site out, they saw themselves and understood that their visit was valued. It definitely works, but you need a dedicated team of people to implement and run it.

  29. GreenLight Go - I am not one of the seven, you refer to, as you will see in my original post last week where I posted my name. I am not hiding behind an alias. I got the information from a former senior official, but will not name him as i do not have permission to do so. You should always look at the root cause of a problem. That is what you ultimately have to deal with to stop things like this happening and unless you solve that the same could happen again. I have said that bullying is wrong and do not condone it. 33. Its not often I start a thread - particularly after race day - but this match deserves one. I suspect I am not alone in thinking that this would be one sided but it was, in fact, anything but and I think the final score slightly flatters the Colts. It was, in fact, a splendid meeting. Nip and tuck most of the way and with some excellent racing thrown in, the highlight was perhaps a superb maximum from Jordan Palin. Aged just 15, he never really looked like being beaten and how vital his contribution was is shown by the fact that Plymouth's top 5 outscored the Belle Vue's top 5. A word, too, for Ben Rathbone, who also put in an excellent performance and jumped up from what looked like a horrible crash in heat 14. Big credit to the Gladiators. I thought they'd get humped but they really attacked the track, particularly Richard Andrews. His last bend drive to split Leon Flint & Kyle Bickley in heat 15 would have graced any Aces meeting. At just £10 - cheapest speedway in Britain - this was excellent value and a major advert for in NL speedway. If any Aces (or other) fans haven't tried the Colts, give them a go.

  34. I also thought Plymouth would be taken to the cleaners but fair play to them they attacked the track from the start and kept it close throughout. Jordan Palin looks a natural on the bike with a great style and good speed another excellent young prospect coming through, Ben Wilson was very quick and I was impressed with Richard Andrews who also had good speed and never gave up culminating in a great race in heat 15, for me Plymouth deserved a point for their efforts.

  36. My own comment on Facebook. ''When in Glasgow for the Scottish derby, I asked Taylor what it was all about. To his extreme credit he didnt want to comment. I admire that. I suppose professionals can find a fault or two, even nit picking. But then again, who is at the top of their chosen profession at 17? Absolutely no one. Keep on snapping Taylor Lanning Photography. Let your camera do the talking'' I have been collecting speedway photos all of my life, from the late 50's right through to today. Obviously Poole in particular. I am not interested in the technical details. All I know is that if I like it, I will buy it,simple as that. However, this is making me think twice about buying others photos.

  37. A brilliant speedway track and a stadium right up there with the best in terms of viewing. I'm just so damned angry about all of this. Town have been in the rugby league wilderness for years now while the Reds are further away from the football league than ever. The Council owe it to the Comets to get seriously involved in helping any initiative to make a comeback wherever that maybe and not sit on their hands in resignation of the situation. A visit to Redcar's South Tees Motorsport Park would aptly demonstrate to them just what a bit of support and ambition can achieve at not huge cost ! I wonder if the Reds will have to pay rent to their rugby league landlords and be denied any profit from bar takings like the speedway had to financially endure ?

  41. With the change in the political environment following the local elections I can only imagine the whole situation re the new stadium has to be in a state of deep flux. If as seems likely the Council is to be run by an Independent/Tory alliance many of whom campaigned against the new stadium then surely the likelihood of this happening must be reduced. A spokesman from the 'Reds' was reported in the local press as saying that 'they won't be moving anywhere until the situation is clarified' so why commence work on changing the Derwent Park pitch ?. Its about time some honesty was spoken instead of treating us all like mushrooms.

  42. This so sad business is gonna run and run...but given that the speedway will cost a lot for anyone to bring it back to life, and I have been given some incredible figures on that, it seems impossible for us to see the Comets rise again, sadly.

  44. When it came to the track design at the NSS, I wonder if there had been detailed plans retained about the Hyde Road track (length / width of track, gradients etc) or did Mort just design it from memory? Also, did he take into account the different aspects of the bikes these days? Either way, he did a fantastic job.

  45. He’s a nice kid. Always pleasant when I see him. If these other photographers are jealous of him and his work perhaps they need to give it up. They have accused him of not originating his own work saying it’s his fathers! They’ve developed their own hashtag on twitter #amow (all my own work) as a bitchy dig at the kid. These ‘men’ by the way are 50+ years old! Times change and move on - Speedway Photographry has too and it’s about the youth. The old guys need to go off and do something else if they can’t hack it. I just hope this bullying doesn’t have any adverse effects on the boy. As a pensioner myself I love to see youth prosper and wish him all the best.
