This has become more open to a wider audience since green light go created his profile just to highlight the situation. You have to wonder who has something to gain out of a this becoming public, who made it public and if they regret doing so now that more details are coming out ? Seeing now that he’s been credited with some work that wasn’t his AMOW isn’t bullying, it’s claiming what’s rightfully yours5 points

Spoke to Chris at the stadium on Monday as it seems he’s more comfortable coming along now after the hurt of what went on.5 points

Cannot believe some on here can say it isn't strictly bullying as it was a private WhatsApp group, sorry but it is bullying and it is unacceptable. I'd tend to agree with the posts above that it's a lot of sad, old men who have had it their own way for too long and now they have a bit of competition. However, and having said all that, if Taylor is getting a leg up because of his dad and Pearson then it's not right. Pearson seems to be slowly taking over all speedway media recently, including these "special" programmes we get for the shared events. I did note in the recent SoN programme that Pearson had something to do with the company that makes them. These jobs for the boys are the kind of crap that speedway could do without, and just carries on from the Terry Russell days. We'll never get fair media now we'll just get whatever Pearson wants. Whatever the truth is, bullying of a 17 year old child is pathetic, but perhaps not unexpected from some of those involved.4 points

Great stuff i am so glad Chris feels like that, it would be great if he could don his leathers again and have a few laps around the place he helped create. The track now would of suited Chris down to the ground he is one of the best riders that i have ever seen who could come from the back a real racer nobody in front of him was ever safe his move on Carter in the 1983 NLRC was awesome.3 points

At 16 its a big challenge regardless of all the other circumstances. One for the long term and with his parents coming with him is hopefully more Nick Morris than Jayden O'Malley. Connor Coles has done a thoroughly decent job in the meantime.3 points

Not sure the best idea is to have it out on a public forum or even social media for that matter. It has nowt to do with us. In the meantime I'm grabbing my popcorn3 points

I appreciate 5.30pm isn't going to suit everyone, but some of the comments on other social media are downright ridiculous. Saying that it's too late for people who travel long distance to get home and get kids ready for school etc. So how did they manage it after a 7.30pm (which actually only moved a few seasons ago from 7.45, may I add) start on a Thursday night, then??? As I said, I realise it won't suit everyone, and I'm sorry for those who miss out, but at least provide a sensible argument.3 points

Surely Danny Ayres has been a terrific signing? With Jedd's average not allowed to drop below 4.00, he was going to be stuck in the main body of the side, before Scorpions made a team change and introduced Danny. Keeping Jedd at either No 4 or No 2 would have destroyed his confidence. Now Rob's plan is that Jedd will come in at reserve, alongside Ryan Kinsley, and it's all possible due to the signing of Danny Ayres in the meantime, who is maintaining an average of over 4.00. Without Danny, we could have easily lost one or two more home meetings - I think his signing was inspired and has been essential. As well as scoring the points, he's also an entertainer, a team man and a positive influence in the pits. I think one of the best things to happen to Scunthorpe this season is Danny Ayres.3 points

Think it is about time I posted on this thread as some of it seems to be about me. My name is Ian Adam and I have been a photographer at Glasgow Speedway since 1991 of there abouts. I first met Taylor Lanning in 2015 as I knew his dad Phil Lanning from many years back at Shawfield Speedway. His dad asked me as he was interested in photography if he could take some photos on the centre green technically I should have said no as he was only 13/14 at the time but as Phil was a friend I said yes. Phil also asked me for some help in picking cameras and I have pointed him in the right direction in picking up good deals in lenses. Along these years I have been more that happy to pass onto Taylor tips on how to capture the action and I think now seeing where he is and the quality he is producing my help and training has paid off. Now it appears that according to Phil I have been involved in bullying his son for over two years an allegation that I strongly deny I have never bullied Taylor Lanning if I have where is the evidence. During this alleged two years bullying Phil and Taylor have shared a table with my family at the Tigers End of Season dance, 4 years running and no mention of bulling was raised at the table I also shared a car with Phil and Taylor to the SON meeting at Belle Vue in 2018 stopping off at Bolton for some lunch again no mention of bullying at any time during the trip. Phil also arranged for me to obtain a photographer pass for the Dubai Airshow in November 2017 and again no mention of bullying also in December 2018 I attended a Christmas Speedway function with Phil and again no mention of bullying at any time during the day. I was a member of a UK wide Speedway Photographers WhatsApp group which this season raised concerns about the number of tracks that Phil and Taylor were turning up at and taking photographs at without any prior introduction to the track photographers based there which should be a done as a form of courtesy which now appears to have been an oversight which Nigel Pearson has apologies to all the photographers for, and it may have turned into a bit of a moan fest but I do not see this as a from of bullying as it was not directed at any individuals and it was raised on a private chat group. The poster GreenLightGo seems to know a lot about this situation so I am more that happy to share with them my home phone number and we can have a chat and I will be happy to explain the facts to them and answer their questions I also notice they are a regular at Ashfield again I would be happy to meet them after a meeting at Ashfield and discuss. I believe the management at Glasgow are going to have a full investigation into these serious allegations, as they should and I commend them caring out this investigation, I have informed them I am more that happy to fully cooperate with this investigation. I will say again I have never bulled Taylor Lanning.3 points

I thought that this was a very enjoyable meeting - a very well thought out format and some top class racing to match. The Redcar promotion should take a bow!3 points

Spoke to Hoggy a couple of weeks ago and although he will be getting involved with presenting events at the Cardiff GP and attending a meeting in Poland otherwise he has no role in speedway at present. That's a shame, particularly as his nearest track (Scunthorpe) are in serious need of a meeting presenter.3 points

Totally agree Mort should be applauded he was treated terribly and i would love to see him back involved in speedway again a great guy to.3 points

I was appalled to learn of some disgusting behaviour of a group of speedway photographers against a 17yr old kid. At Glasgow we have a young man learning his trade and producing some fantastic stuff. He has been subject to an appalling bullying campaign by jealous photographers who are subjecting him to a hate campaign. They were recently busted by someone who screen shotted their WhatsApp group. The guys in question are the Leicester photographer, the Edinburgh photographer and 2 from Belle Vue. I appalled to say that 2 from Glasgow are also involved. i understand that this is being investigated by the BSPA. Personally I will no longer be purchasing any pictures from these guys until I see a public apology. i suggest you do too.2 points

I think the much maligned David Gordon deserves as much credit as Mort does. For all that happened at Belle Vue during their tenure, the NSS simply wouldn't exist without their combined effort and determination - and that was in the face of a great deal of scepticism, cynicism and downright abuse from right across the speedway spectrum, from members of this forum to other promotions. I got told that one prominent member of the BSPA was especially dismissive. I remember getting a lot of flak for buying one of the bricks that were sold at the time the stadium was conceived. I can say quite honestly that every time I go into the grandstand now I view it with great pride and pleasure. It is sad that - and I stand to be corrected here - neither Gordon nor Morton attend Belle Vue regularly and it would be fitting if, in view of his overwhelming contribution to Belle Vue Speedway for nearly half a century, one of the stands bore Chris Morton's name.2 points

Speedway is a very small pond. Making enemies at such a young age may not be the best route. I wonder if this has backfired and should have been kept private1 point

I am sure the two named photographers at Leicester will be spoken to again and reminded that this has to stop straight away and if they have any grievances then they should raise it with the club and Nigel Pearson1 point

Depends what you mean by ‘terribly flash’ but I don’t see much wrong with having a professional image and looking as good as you can when on duty. Years ago at school my PE teacher used to say ‘look smart, play smart’ when we represented the school at football, cricket or whatever and I think that’s true. He didn’t do as well as I thought last season but seems to be fulfilling his potential this year and it’s great to see.1 point

what a nugget that Godfrey is . i hope jedd screws him over after being shown the door by one of the poorest , if not THE poorest promoter in the last few seasons . tell him where to stick it Jedd !1 point

Very pleased to read how good the racing was last night. It proves that the track can still produce the quality racing we are used to at the EOS. It's just a matter of preparing it properly.1 point

I have been impressed with some of his photographs. I have no idea if you have to be 18 to get a pass but it would seem odd if that is true when you can race when as young as 15. Equally, I can understand older photographers feeling aggrieved if they feel that a competitor is getting an unfair advantage because of his connections. However, you don't deal with that by bullying the person concerned. You deal with it by taking the matter up with those you feel are allowing what you perceive to be unfair competition.1 point

I doubt that it's a surprise to any long term Panther fans that Chapman isn't making anything if true. The EoES and speedway sucks cash, always has, always will. No way could they close the grandstand and I doubt the EoES would let them charge extra after nearly 50 years, plus it would be difficul to administer and almost impossible to police. Added to that, they'd lose more fans than any charge would make up for IMO.1 point

Spot on... The margins for big % success are so huge given the poor levels of attendance at most tracks, that just a small increase every week will generate significantly more money.. I suggested something similar to a Promoter several years ago... Get 100 regulars together (who are interested in helping) and give them 10 tickets to bring 10 friends/colleagues. That alone would swell the crowd by 1000 if all turn up so would have made the sport look popular in itself.. Then over the next few weeks do discounted tickets gradually moving up to full price in the fifth meeting for the newbie, ie 75% discount, 50% discount, 25% discount then full price.. Hopefully by then, after five meetings, the newbie would start to follow the team and sport... He was worried about the fans using tickets as freebies for friends and family but I told him there are far more than 100 fans who would be happy to pay full price themselves and see their team prosper and use the tickets with integrity.. He said the tickets would cost the club 8 grand (£8 a ticket at the time) so he wasnt sure of its viability.. The reality of course was the only cost was for 1000 tickets being printed and that would have cost him about £30 back then, with the chances of any regulars getting a freebie being minimal, and even if they did it would have meant hardly any 'real' loss, given it would have been such a very low number... The mindset of a promoter...1 point

Honestly What would the council have done if the Speedway had run? they certainly couldn't have widened the pitch if the Speedway had of been operating that's for sure!!! the football club would have had to play on a narrower pitch!!! Not all football pitches are the same size? The length of a pitch must be between 100 yards (90 m) and 130 yards (120 m) and the width not less than 50 yards (45 m) and not more than 100 yards (90 m). However all rugby league pitches I believe are the same size and rugby league is played on a field 112–122 metres long by 68 metres wide. When you look at the aerial shots of the two grounds it is noticeable that Borough Park is wider than Derwent Park however you could still have fit an "FA sized" approved pitch onto the Derwent Park footprint without "Butchering" the Speedway Track. I hold nothing but contempt for the shower of "A Wipes" who are driving and delivering this death blow to the Speedway, A common accusation of Speedway promotions is that they are self-indulgent self-serving and self-centred; However the local council along with the management committees of the "Reds" football team and "Town" the rugby league team certainly take some beating when it comes to saying "screw you" and looking after their own interests which they have done implacably and to the Comets detriment "In Spades" I would hasten to add... I hope the the fleas of a thousand camels infest the collective crotches of all those involved in "Screwing Over" the Comets and that their fingernails drop off to stop them scratching... Pure awkwardness on behalf of the Reds who seem to think they will be in the third division of the football league within the next 5 years, what an absolute joke... who believes that is likely to happen? As for "Town" the lies and disinformation they have spread about the situation and how they would stand by the Speedway and look after their interests well "Et tu, Brute"? backstabbers to a fault... Mort went to various tracks all over Europe watching races on them. He took bits of the track from all he saw and put it together in 1 track. Which is now the NSS and voalaaa Incidentally. He made sure he designed the track first and have the stadium fit around it. Others fit a track inside a stadium. Morts way is deffo best1 point
