  1. I would love to know why the international committee do not consider this an official meeting and why the BSPA and SCB are not protesting very loudly. If they can't get things changed for next season the answer is to drop any competition that is not recognised and expand the number of fixtures in the league and tell the international committee to stick that in their pipes and smoke it.

  2. No they havnt actually - it’s been bubbling under the surface since the winter shenanigans - it’s just there are more fans voicing their frustrations now. You have a solid team and are very fortunate to still have your original promoter - if we had the same I feel things would be different.

  4. This is OTT However, IF The Promotion had come out and told the truth, they would have a far more conciliatory hearing and understanding from supporters of Birmingham and other Clubs. This made up baloney is the issue, not the postponement itself.

  7. Honestly Being a "Tad" misogynistic there mind JJ aren't we? As this is predominantly a male run sport why are they not behaving "like a silly man"? and I appreciate the post was started by a female which is beside the point as a woman can behave like a silly man? can't they? May be if there were a few more women in the sport at the top end (management committee) (or as promoters) it may be run more professionally rather than "like a select little boys club" as it appears to be being run at present; as believe me there are just as many "Silly Men" out there as there are "Silly Women" if not more!!! Sheffield and Somerset for two have women promoters (formally Workington as well) who have more common sense and integrity than many of their male counterparts doing the same role that is for sure... Whoever starts a post male or female if they believe they have a valid point, question or query how ever daft you may feel it is we surely need to respect? defend? their right to put over that question not deride them? Regards THJ

  8. The truth is always the right way and we have been fed a load of bull. If you are happy to call the truth boring then that's up to you. As a lifelong Brummie supporter and regular home and away I am not happy with being fobbed off, I prefer the truth, and I will make my feelings known to the Promotion in a polite but firm manner when I get the chance.

  9. As per usual you are spouting tripe. Robert Lambert is having a tough time in all leagues at the moment and needs our support, not people like you accusing him of a lack of application. The lad is riding his backside off for little reward at the moment, it’s happened to every sportsman who ever lived at one time or another.

  10. I was appalled to learn of some disgusting behaviour of a group of speedway photographers against a 17yr old kid. At Glasgow we have a young man learning his trade and producing some fantastic stuff. He has been subject to an appalling bullying campaign by jealous photographers who are subjecting him to a hate campaign. They were recently busted by someone who screen shotted their WhatsApp group. The guys in question are the Leicester photographer, the Edinburgh photographer and 2 from Belle Vue. I appalled to say that 2 from Glasgow are also involved. i understand that this is being investigated by the BSPA. Personally I will no longer be purchasing any pictures from these guys until I see a public apology. i suggest you do too.

  11. Hence why I’m lapping it up Sorry if I’m annoying others but the amount of crap I get from him and then that Lisa pipes up ..... I’m just giving it back Waiting for one Poole fan to congratulate us but no instead it’s excuses and poor ones at that Belle Vue fans all congratulated Poole on the comeback the other day seems Poole fans have no humility

  12. You must remember Gavan, guests always make Poole weaker, but guests for the opposition against Poole always make the opposition stronger.according to Shovlar that is

  14. I wouldn`t think he will miss any more meetings for Birmingham - he was probably committed to this fixture in Denmark whereas future priority is for Birmingham. They wouldn`t have signed him if he couldn`t do the fixtures.

  15. With Bailey quitting I hope Scunny have the sense to put Kinsley at 7 so he had the rides against Somerset's reserves. I fear Lawlor will fail to score against any opposition and gifting Rowe and Atkins points by facing Lawlor could hand Somerset victory. If not then I hope Dave Peet has the sense to swap Kinsley and Lawlor heat by heat.

  16. Read wide, I’ve criticised the sport and it’s organisation often. And having watched the sport live since I was a child I can confirm that even back in the golden years of the sport there were dull from the gate racing then too. It’s only those that live in the past that believe every race and match had stunning racing but of course that’s simply not true. if you want to know how often I attend take a look at the updates site over the years that will confirm your question. speedway in its purest form is as every bit as exciting now as it was back in ‘the day’. i also volunteer my services as a Marshall to my local track. I hope that answers your question.

  17. Given the service his family have given to speedway, it is very sad. Especially so if (as the opening post suggests) Glasgow-based snappers are involved, as their club has benefitted greatly from the family involvement for years.

  18. There may be others I haven't seen but I know that Craig Cook is being very supportive of Taylor on Twitter and Instagram. Good to see and typical of Craig. Those photographers involved in the disgusting behaviour should be ashamed of themselves. It says a lot about them and about the quality of Taylor's work if they're jealous of the competition.

  19. He’s a nice kid. Always pleasant when I see him. If these other photographers are jealous of him and his work perhaps they need to give it up. They have accused him of not originating his own work saying it’s his fathers! They’ve developed their own hashtag on twitter #amow (all my own work) as a bitchy dig at the kid. These ‘men’ by the way are 50+ years old! Times change and move on - Speedway Photographry has too and it’s about the youth. The old guys need to go off and do something else if they can’t hack it. I just hope this bullying doesn’t have any adverse effects on the boy. As a pensioner myself I love to see youth prosper and wish him all the best.

  20. That’s a good idea- my question would be do Gorzow and Zielona Gora like each other. Do Torun and Grudziadz like each other lol

  21. Not sure I agree with this statement? I think it's the promoters using common sense and not wasting money by putting on an expensive farce ? (No fans turning up due to a very weakened team) If they were thinking of quitting, then why make 2 (positive)team changes so early in the season?

  22. We won't be able to get through the door soon. That carpet will be nearer the celing than the floor!

  23. This has all the hallmarks of a promotion losing money and looking to quit. Had this with my team in 2018.

  24. Guys, you’re peeing in the wind if you think the SCB are going to do anything at all about this. They publicly issued a statement that they were going to make a full investigation into the failure of Mildenhall to get a team for the season ending final league match at Eastbourne last year, which resulted in a call off 24 hrs before the event and caused a fair bit of annoyance to fans, it being the last meeting of the season. Have we had any report on their “full investigation” ? No. I no longer have any faith in the statements from the speedway authorities.

  25. Yeah Lindgren struggled from the back clocking up 10+ home averages whilst missing the gate in half his races. You couldn't have chosen a worse example.

  26. Were you at the meeting?! If you weren’t your opinion has zero credibility. If you were then you were watching a different speedway meeting to me! After their first rides both were good value in all of their other races, Tobi was leading comfortably when his bike let go on him in his retirement, he passed Lawson in heat 14. Scott raced hard all night, passed Harris on the track, couldn’t have been expected to do much more realistically.

  27. yes, noticed Allen did not take another ride after heat 8 but that is the program of rides in the 13 heat format. Hope all is well as possible after effects to Allen & Auty plus repercussions of Garrity could go against us. I agree with Fozzie(gosh, that was hard to admit) but Kinsley needs to be no7 at home(even though it will make a mess of the programme). I have not been a great admirer of Peet but let us see if he is an ex referee or a team manager. (the verdict is still out for some of us on here).

  32. The #13 gives your first two races together in heats 4 and 5 so gives very little time to make any changes needed after the first ride. He found this disadvantage to be worth avoiding even though he then ended up with his final total rides being in consecutive heats 16 and 17. Whether he made any use of it or not on the day, I don't know. But he won so who cares !

  33. We are over the 38 point limit in June so only a like for like swap. Bailey has an average of 3.18 so up to that or a British rider having ridden in the NL up to 3.26.

  34. I should have posted this here - my apologies. The only surprise is that new promoters, who promised a different way of doing things, make the same mistakes ( perhaps knowingly ) as so many before them. Hiding behind dubious excuses that might prove to be lies, is the way to erode whatever support you have gathered to date. Tell the whole truth, tell it promptly and fully and you may well avoid the worst of the fallout. Going the other way is to enter a storm of criticism.

  35. Correct sir , If they are worried about losing cash fair enough but do not treat us loyal fans who go everyweek like idiots. A little bit of respect please. Oh and i will bet you Argos the person who started the thread with some bold statements will NOT answer my previously asked question ? Why you ask ? its because he has spoke to no such trainers at Perry Barr he has made it up . He will probably say he does not want to reveal there identity .

  37. EXACTLY! We then have to hear about unhappy so called supporters who want the management/promotion punished for an obvious business decision? We're already in a financially difficult situation with low attendances and rising costs etc....so why try and put another nail in the future of another speedway club??? Beggars belief! The decision to postpone the meeting didn't affect anyone........everybody had advanced notice? It's the so called vigilante supporters who will close another track down, not the 'common sense' of a benevolent promotional speedway operation! Call yourself speedway fans ??? maybe be just an envious Coventry supporter ???

  42. Yeah - or just lie to your paying public. Whatever floats your boat I suppose.

  43. I've attended many meetings at Wolves over many years. It can provide good racing. Passing on the outside does happen but the overwhelming number of passes occur on the inside coming out of bends 2 and 4. The track is prepared to provide extra grip coming out of those bends. Understandably, the home riders become more familiar with the track and can often be seen taking advantage of those lines, whereas away riders can often be seen taking too wide a line or drifting too wide. Obviously, there are track specialists who don't ride for Wolves, who know exactly how to ride the track and top riders who can quickly adapt to most tracks. However, many riders today have relatively little consistent experience of racing on tight technical tracks and 2 or 3 visits to Wolves each year doesn't give them sufficient opportunity to master it. Time and time again I have watched decent riders lose out to Wolves riders taking advantage of the grip coming out of the bends but seemingly unable to adapt to take advantage of it themselves. To be clear, there's nothing wrong with the track or the way it is prepared. Every team tries to create a track that gives home advantage but it is less apparent and advantageous for those tracks that are within the more usual parameters for size and shape. Wolverhampton has always been a track I enjoy visiting because of the racing but I concur with others, that it is no longer prepared as it was in the Doc Bridgett days and that the level of entertainment has suffered as a consequence.

  44. Well then it’s a crying shame there aren’t far more people like me then isn’t it. The sport would be much better off. I wont let a rider missing here or there or rules being tinkered with that to us outsiders, make little sense, put me off going to support my local Speedway team. Others feel differently, that’s their prerogative of course. Theres ALWAYS been all sorts of shenanigans going on in Speedway as far back as I remember, even in the “glory days” of the 70’s and 80’s! Some of them far far Dodgier than what goes on today.

  46. To be fair to Riss he has done well this season so far. My concerns in the team so far this season are actually the 2 that done ok in this meeting Kerr and Proctor. But as a team we aren't doing to bad so no panic to change things at the minute in my opinion.

  47. Do not think it is that serious. There was an incident to be sorted out, it has been sorted with the change in captaincy required. If it had have been trouble/serious, then Garrity would have been suspended or sacked. Move on.

  48. To be fair, given the dust bowl that is Wimborne Road I would have thought most Poole fans have to go on Twitter to see the result....
