What was wrong with the Track at the Showground, last season ? Did it really need the major overall that Buster appears to be giving it ? Buster spends ages going around and around at Saddlebow and all he has created is the worst track at Lynn we have ever seen ( in terms of racing)5 points

And since when have refs ever been consistent, especially Carrington. But a decent meeting with a fair result, the crowd was magnificent easily our best of the season so far with a fairly full grandstand and the fifty fifty winner got £290, another season best. Supporters hut had a few programmes left but the turnstiles sold out and not a speck of dust all night on a quite warm evening which shows it can be done if prepared properly.4 points

Well as long as it's because of that and not because he is poorly again, that's the main thing3 points

Enjoyed the meeting there are would say a decent crowd around around the 750-800 mark which at prices you'd pay at some Championship Tracks (more than Leicester and Eastbourne for me to get in to as an OAP) ; is cracking for NL so unless Len is paying well above NL pay-rates someone is milking it, although no idea what rent he has to pay for that very luxurious Stand and Restaurant. The track (and its my 4th visit) just doesn't cut it for me, not sure whether they need to sort the cambers out or get some more even dirt on it but seeing good level riders having to cling on when hitting grip on 2nd bend and rut on 3rd bend when they have had all winter to blade and grade seems a lack of attention to me. I'd contrast with Stoke who have a fraction of the crowd and income who have gone the extra mile and produced a stunning race strip since they changed curator last season and Leicester/Peterborough who have also invested time and effort in to track preparation. Excellent Team Kent have and very enthusiastic support but they deserve better track and lower prices in my opinion. Can't be right that I can see Richard Lawson for £14 on Friday and Rob Ledwith for £15 on Monday at much lower level???..3 points

I agree that Kerr should be at two but I can’t imagine this isn’t something that everyone has agreed on. Also agree about being a little disappointing after being eight up but in mitigation the two strongest looking Premiership teams have lost at Peterborough this year and both Riss and Jorgensen were way below their usual standard tonight for various reasons so I’m not going to worry about it too much. The bigger concern for me and speedway in general is that one of the best racetracks we have hasnbeen altered and doesn’t seem to offer that outside line any more. One line round the inside is no good to anybody.3 points

I even thought of making the non-world finalist world final a little more specific, and narrow it down to riders of a specific year. Good to see some names already mentioned, but leaving out the 70's and 80's, let's look at riders who were active in1969 who never made a World Final (reserve spot included). 1 - Tommy Roper 2 - Dave Younghusband 3 - Garry Middleton 4 - Sandor Levai 5 -George Hunter 6 - Bob Kilby 7 - Odd Fossengen 8 - Roy Trigg 9 - Geoff Mudge 10 - Chris Pusey 11 - Charlie Monk 12 - Jan Holub 13 - Tony Clarke 14 - Norman Hunter 15 - Bruce Cribb 16 - Oyvind S. Berg I would pay to watch that line-up today... Steve2 points

Don't talk rubbish, there was virtually no dust. The tiny amount of dust in the last couple of heats due to the delays was normal for any track starting to dry out. Complete over exageration saying riders couldn't see.You can't find anything to criticise about the racing so make this crap up. The 20 minute delay wasn't ideal but I can't believe such a big deal is being made of it. Instead of writing about the great racing lets all complain about a 20 minute delay .As others have said, it wasn't raining, it wasnt cold, it was a beautiful sunny day.2 points

Very dominant display against one of the fancied teams this year just shows how many tonkings this side will dish out this year. Only Jenkins starting the year slowly and Gilkes over trying prevented the 60 mark being beaten. Couldn't make the opener and unlikely to bother with a Central Park visit now until Mildenhall come to town at the end of May.2 points

Couldn't believe when Danny was announced for heat 15 as he wasn't nominated as one of the four for heat 14. Should've been Krystian & Jake in 15. Hawkins was joking before heat 14 that the supporters had a good record in picking heat 14 riders, score 9-3 before last night, maybe he should let them pick heat 15 as well.2 points

I'm not one to agree with what Rob did, but however, he certainly isn't ready for Championship racing. National League would help him but not sure if he'd be allowed to compete in that level. Riders look good in practice on their own, as Jedd did, but when there's 3 other riders by you, its a totally different ball game2 points

A good meeting but I can't help feeling that the track doesn't suit the home team. We have riders who like to use the dirt line on the outside but unfortunately there isn't one. We are not gating well and this track is a gaters paradise currently and also we are crying out for a big hitting No1.2 points

Excellent again from Kasper away from home, just need him to have a good home meeting or two to get his confidence up around Lynn. There is obviously talent there. Can’t be displeased with an away draw to start the league campaign. Both teams will probably feel they could have won it.2 points

From a neutral fan (Cov fan) it is smooth and fast but just one line on the inside and if you go off that you go backwards.2 points
-
Nonsense imo. If Buster had allowed Craig coloured sponsors then he'd of had a game with the other 6 rider's. Buster in this case 100% right, and Craig has made himself 110% poorer.2 points

An excellent line-up for Saturday, perhaps at last revealing the threatened upsurge in British talent. Lambert a clear favourite, but both semi-finals showed that even with just one lap to go in a final race, things can change dramatically. Prices are good: £15 for 16 and over, £11 concessions and kids just a quid. Bring the family!1 point

It’s a difficult one semmers, in the past he has occasionally not graded much and you end up with one line out by the fence at Lynn which is the worst of all. He bottom line is that the dirt used at Lynn is no good for bikes....I hope it’s not the same stuff at Peterborough now.1 point

i think it is being divided up into small sections and sent through the post to all those who contributed to its purchase . but the parts must be returned in time for the 2020 season opener .. k20 that thing costs , but with what is looking like a hot , hot summer you will be able to make a good few beach crafts for the beach !1 point

Whirtzfeld looked very good as did Norris. Sheppard was clear when ef on lap 3.1 point

Probably as expected results for both sides. Aces kept things close early on at Monmore so a great home win in the end for Wolves, Becker yet again proving why virtually every team wanted to sign him pre season. Another great show from Luke. Hopefully there will be no trolling of falls as well. As predicted, 2 great meetings played out to big bank holiday crowds. Both tracks delivering the good again.1 point

That's Len for you. Why wasn't the track graded and watered during the earlier delays. Someone needs to get a grip at Kent to ensure delays are kept to a minimum. If that means a second ambulance, then so be it. The crowd levels and high admission price should be enough to cover it.1 point

It's unfair to criticize the GRA over bar prices at Perry Barr. They also think that these are too high but they have no option but to charge what their London masters say that they have to charge. The GRA now only operates Belle Vue and Perry Barr as has been said, but they are not an independent organisation - they are owned by a larger London group called RCP, but as far as Perry Barr is concerned, the GRA management and staff have been more than helpful and co-operative towards the speedway club in every respect. Perry Barr Stadium is owned by the City Council but leased to the GRA. Part of the grandstand is a Grade 2 listed building and there is a covenant on the stadium which states that it must be used only as a sports venue. The stadium was a gift to the City made by Lord Alexander in 1888, and it's original name was The Alexander Stadium and was the domain of Birchfield Harriers Athletic Club until the late 1970's when the City Council constructed their present home - originally styled "The New Alexander Stadium." The Council planned to sell the old stadium to Sainsburys at the time, but were prevented from doing this because the Alexander family would not agree to lifting the covenant. The old stadium, then derelict, was leased to The Perry Barr Greyhound Club in 1985, and the Greyhound Club was sold to the GRA in 2002. The original speedway/Athletics track was 402 yards slightly shorter than Belle Vue (Hyde Road) and Norwich but very similar in shape to both of them. The new dog track constructed in 1986, covered the home straight and the two bends of the old speedway circuit, but extended further over what used to be concrete terracing on the back straight, and the new speedway track, laid in 2007, inside the dog track of course, was of a very similar shape to the original although with much shorter straights. For anyone with an interest in local history, at the high point of the rear of the central part of the grandstand can be seen the leaping deer emblem of Birchfield Harriers surmounted by the club's motto "Fleet and Free." Here endeth the history lesson!!!1 point

Danny's inability to score round Brough and anywhere else for that matter at Championship level, will I am sure tell him something. It certainly will be damaging his confidence and maybe he should make the call himself to move back down a league where he can win races and make some money! I tend to agree with TG that Simon Lambert will make good, but hopefully in the near future.1 point

Nothing against Danny Phillips and I know it’s very early in the season but how much longer can/do you persevere with him? He’s not even scoring at home. You could sign someone like Jordan Jenkins admittedly he’s probably not ready for championship racing and may not score much or at all but at least he’s young and has potential to improve.1 point

Craig was advised that all his personal sponsors had to be in black and white. The only coloured one on Ipswich is Tru Plant and I can’t see any on the Lynn kevlars. Troy can do what he wants as he isn’t a Chapman rider.1 point

If properly watered you shouldn’t get dust, it probably wasn’t watered yesterday to get it into shape. No excuse for clouds of dust, poor track preparation and maintenance.1 point

Think most of us knew the 'licence on ice' situation was only to calm the much troubled waters, and Comets were in reality no more. Re the' press release' - perhaps it does need doing to, as it were, nail the lid down. Think Laura needs to make the effort. As THJ says it's "a whole new chapter"........and honestly when I do win the lottery I'll revive Workington Speedway....... .........incidentally anyone know where you buy a ticket?1 point

No he won't because he did , not rocket science is it. Anyway haven't saw any users with those names on here, you must be thinking of the Workington forum.1 point
