Not sure what difference that makes; width is width and changes the dynamics however it is done. It was done to give David Howe his home shot at the World U21 title and done within the confines of what the EoES allowed, if that's cheap as you say then it is what it is. When Mercer and crew arrived as EoES administrators shortly afterwards they got upset about sponsor boards on the fence and number of cars allowed inside the showground so basically you're lucky that it's as wide as it is because I doubt that those works would have happened afterwards. More importantly, given the shrinking showground and the running problems we've had over the last 15 years you should really just appreciate that you're still able to visit one of the best speedway locations in the country. I'd worry about improving quality on track before I'd worry about shapes and stuff.5 points

The track can’t be widened on the outside because of permanent obstructions outside the fence - such as the grandstand and hospitality areas.4 points

I'm sure its not that hard to nip to a cash machine before entering the Stadium4 points

well contributed to what was a brilliant brilliant meeting twists and turns and well done somerset ,in fact well done all 14 riders you served up the best meeting i have seen in years at perry barr. As for guests and attracting big names to this country it matters not one bit to people because that 4 million people would not have a clue who anyone is anyway. Producing racing like i witnessed tonight every week would get 4 million people interested. We will have to agree to disagree on the guest ruling but i want to be entertained first and win second.4 points

Since I sponsor two of them they talk to me every meeting richard3 points

Decent display by bjerre kept us honest, and after the 1-5 in heat 1 I was a tad unsure if we might struggle, however the lads proved that perhaps foxhall might finally give us a bit of home advantage at last. Well done Richard too, looked really good.3 points

Well I hope they dont leave him there like that... Someone should go over to him and give him a big hug...3 points

Probably score the same amount of points whether he races at Edinburgh or doesn’t turn up anyway.3 points

He did ride for Poole so is quite use to that. Most of the Poole riders should be use to riding bumps so this could play into their hands3 points

BSPA have stepped in and told Swindon that Brummies have priority as Friday is CL priority day.3 points

Credit to Somerset on the win, fully deserved and i just knew they would hit us in Heats 13 and 15 just like every team will do this season. Covatti was on another level, could have had another 5 rides and not be beat. The Brummies were just too inconsistant, they would have one good ride, followed by a poor one and so on. That was true of every rider apart from Paco Castagna who was superb, its a shame he wasn't utilised more. He should have replaced Thomson in Heat 10 dont know why he wasn't or put in Heat 8. We are in with a shout in matches but at the same time its hard to see when we are to win unless we are 10 points up going into Heat 13. Hopefully we can improve in the coming weeks.3 points

Peterborough at its best is second only to the NSS in this country for me.3 points

Nonsense. Really doesn’t need to be any wider and you’ll see some of the best racing there week in week out.3 points

I reckon it's a 6-hour journey on a normal day - probably a 7-hour journey on a Good Friday. Poole should ride on Easter Monday instead.3 points

I disagree personally i would rather see a competitive meeting with 7 riders each side if that means a single guest tonight so be it.3 points

They had 8 race wins to our 7 but also had 12 last places to our 3!! And 6 of their race wins we nullified with a 3-3 so pretty positive all round imo2 points

Poole manage to somehow throw away a winning position and scrape a draw.... and a mate of mine who is actually been working in Bristol went to the meeting (Eastbourne fan) and said that the decision to exclude Doyle was farcical ( I wasn’t there just saying) Swindon’s issues are clearly the bottom 3 riders although the exclusion of Doyle cost them the win. For Poole it’s quite clear Jack Holder isn’t a number one and Worrall isn’t cutting it at all at the moment. Klindt had his first poor meeting so can be forgiven that and Brady saw the meeting out better. Pooles reserves will always keep them in meetings .... that is until they come up against Heeps and Allen at the top of the league Witches2 points

I think that makes us top of the league Take a screen shot everyone2 points

Spot on about Joe Owen. Used to average 11 for Newcastle back in the day. If that's not proof that the old Second Division was stronger than the top league is now, then what is?2 points

is that an unpopular opinion? It's one held by many. Here's mine - i prefer NL/CL racing to PL and GP.2 points

Jordan Palin did rather well against older riders at the Isle Of Wight on Tuesday. I'm sure he'll be fine after a whole year with Belle Vue Colts in the National League. Problem with Jedd is that option was not available to him and also that his average cannot go below 4.00. It was into the deep end.2 points

James Shanes honest appraisal of the track might not be to some of the riders used to flying round on Polish launch pads! Lets hope it’s a success tonight and speedway is the winner.2 points

Perhaps you would like to contact our Landlords at the Eoes with your suggestions but I suspect you may only receive a two word reply with the second one being OFF!2 points

If the quickest way round currently is round the inside what benefit would widening the track make? Aside from the lack of scope to do it due to the showground etc it could be made half a mile wide but the quickest current line would still be the inside as that's where the dirt is. I look forward to seeing your suggestions for Stokes track upgrade on their thread and will make sure i put plenty of time aside to read them all.2 points

Poole is a morning meeting. Redcar evening. He can do both. 5 hours 20 mins to Redcar. Has time to spare and could stop for a quick break en route.2 points

Will do ok. Saw someone on twitter say he should be in the GPs. You think you’ve seen it all then that comes up.2 points

I think Brad went for a gap that wasn’t really on. Thats the first time in 50 years I can remember that every heat was under 60 seconds, not so much one line but the inside was the quickest. Gating is all important at this level as very few mistakes get made and so it has proved in our first three matches. Hopefully the racing will improve a little over the next few months but it’s certainly entertaining, and the meetings are being run at a quick speed, about 1.5 hours so far.2 points

Top riders who earn 100's of thousands of £'s in Poland and Sweden would all ride over here for thousands of £'s less per night if Speedway brought fixed nights in.... And if each club had three top riders each they would pack their stadiums out every meeting, so they could easily afford them..2 points

It is a reshaping of the old track, which the new stadium is planned to be built around. The old plans, to move the track and stadium to a new position, approximately 45 degrees from the current location was scrapped last year.1 point

I understand that. Even riders like Kevin Wölbert have gone through the Polish junior meetings and eventually it is certain 1 or 2 will make the grade The trouble is, in the meantime fans get short changed because even in one heat there is big gap in ability. And no less important is the danger to other riders. I can understand it in Germany, it is a bit of a shock to see this in Poland1 point
