I have said it before, but there really is something unique and incredible about Tai's style. It seems like he is riding on rails, even when switching lines. He may not have a style like Collins, Craven, or Moran, but I have never understood those who label him "boring"... Steve6 points

Jeez, how wide do you want it. You should have seen it before it was widened for the 2001 World Under 21 Championship.5 points

Nice picture on the Kings Lynn Twitter thanking their fans for the wonderful support Just one thing - it happens to be presenter Kevin Long, The Massif and other Witches fans https://mobile.twitter.com/ipswichspeedway5 points

It's easy for folks on here to criticise Rob for his decision, but if he didn't the same folks would be on his back if the team were losing due to carrying a rider after last year. He has to do what's right for his business, whilst keeping the majority of his fans on side. Given what some on here have hinted at, I wouldn't be surprised if Rob looks after him giving him track time or trying to get Jedd a ride somewhere else.4 points

Don’t forget Lynn start fifteen minutes later than the others.....an hour and a half is reasonable I’d say.4 points

Just knew this was coming, after two 46-44 wins with last heat deciders they think this is now a winning team and people will keep coming though the gates week in week out, its now the cheapest team in the league and that must suit Buster down to the ground.3 points

Considering Danny Ayres scored 5+2 it was the right decision at this stage in List’s career.Imo3 points

Whilst it's easy to.point at Lampart and the reserves, Doyle not winning a race all night is equally as significant.3 points

It's a fantastic track and facility always enjoyed my trips to Peterborough3 points

OK I accept that could be the reason for the later finish but in cold weather delays and time wasting need to be kept to a minimum3 points

It wasn't as bad as that. Probably the same amount of passing as it was back in the day. Riss and Jorgensen brave manoeuvres down the back straight. King and Lamberts battle and then Heeps overtaking Lambert. Toft passing King. Jorgensen Gp move on Heeps. That's off the top of my head while a bit bored at work. Didn't Lambert overtake Heeps in 15 too. Edit: Forgot Harris around Kerr bend 3. Finished at 21-15 pretty decent time I thought.3 points

I suggested THEO , ( who I'd pick every time given the choice between the two ) as our next away match is at Edinburgh and he's an ex Monarch added to the fact he rode well for us last season when he came in . But if it's Jye's intention to be back by then it's irrelevant anyway .3 points

Thanks LC. Signed Jesper, Nicki, Bjarne and KB, and ran my free training school for 10 years now that has produced all the Gems team, including Archie Freeman 150cc British Champion and both 125 and 500 NJL champions last year. Brought Newcastle back in 1997, and some unpopular cretin says "I destroyed Newcastle Speedway." NURSE NURSE3 points

I've had my run-ins with Tsunami on the political threads, but you can't question his speedway credentials. Involved in one of the most successful spells of Newcastle Speedway and then running some invaluable training schools.3 points

Congratulations to Ryan Kinsley on winning the first U21 semi final at the IOW. Unbeaten! Jordan Palin getting a creditable 2nd.2 points

But when we do it the whole speedway world goes into an uproar... Even making the news in Poland that Newcastle dropped a rider because another rider had to retire... It's a numbers game in this country...2 points

I’m Joe’s niece - to the best of our knowledge the Great Train Robber was no relation! The “Joe” comes from something his mum (my granny) used to say to him when he was a baby and she was playing with him. The “Joe” was an abbreviated form and just stuck! I always have to do a double take when someone refers to “Colin” Lovely to read some memories of him2 points

Don't get me wrong 1 valve, Tai is good but he hasn't got anyone to beat. So much easier now, just turn up, win, ride round, don't have to win many races, pressure? No, closed shop, rivals not around. In the 70's did you see a rider lose a race before a World Final? So tough the competition, Betts. Look at it, Ashby. Legends. Pusey, warrior. Would he lose a race today, don't think so. Grand Prix, back in the day, wow, Mauger would have won 20+, Olsen too, Collins 10... could you see them losing a race, wow, competition, Les Collins, grand prix, would he get beat, be honest? Carter, be world champ 5 times over in a GP, tough, Sanders! Different class. Joe Owen, different level, Think 1 valve. Were you there?2 points

I couldn’t go to this meeting but certainly don't think Jacobsen is dirty nothing wrong with hard racing and not yielding to pressure. As for Denis Andersson he wasn't very good but i don't think he was a dirty rider and i don't think Dakota North was either in general.2 points

I think Brad went for a gap that wasn’t really on. Thats the first time in 50 years I can remember that every heat was under 60 seconds, not so much one line but the inside was the quickest. Gating is all important at this level as very few mistakes get made and so it has proved in our first three matches. Hopefully the racing will improve a little over the next few months but it’s certainly entertaining, and the meetings are being run at a quick speed, about 1.5 hours so far.2 points

Top riders who earn 100's of thousands of £'s in Poland and Sweden would all ride over here for thousands of £'s less per night if Speedway brought fixed nights in.... And if each club had three top riders each they would pack their stadiums out every meeting, so they could easily afford them..2 points

Any wider and P'boro will be able to run a second meeting on the inside at the same time....2 points

Must admit I thought it was an odd comment in the first place. One of the widest and best racing tracks in the UK.2 points

one of the better tracks but not wide enough and wants banking. now let me think about that !!2 points

The point is that he didn't disappear in that context. I'm well of what you're saying, we had to suffer Kenneth Bjerre 3,3,2,1,0 for enough seasons.2 points

I understand. It's an easy subjective way to belittle a rider they - for whatever reason - don't like. He looks every inch a rider who has all the attributes to be the best of all-time. The professionalism of Mauger/Rickardsson, the overtaking ability of Collins, the technical ability of Nielsen, the coolness under pressure of Fundin/Gundersen. A very special rider indeed.2 points

Jedd was brought over on the recommendations of Allen & Douglas who had seen him race & even he said he was a gater. We saw in the 3 meetings that he did have the speed & was smooth but his gating was letting him down as he seemed to be over spinning, bogging down at the start rather than surging forward. As has been said, he has only been on a 500cc bike for less than a year & maybe a year too soon. Rob made the change sooner than he would normally do & though it might be morally wrong by some posters on here, Jedd's father understood the reasons why & his replacement, Danny Ayres scored 5+2, before anyone else could snap him up. I bet other teams will be making changes in the next few weeks as it is part of the nature of our sport.2 points

Exactly that. As I recall the majority of the bans were as a result of disagreements with an individual. Not saying they were correct or incorrect but If that's a sound business reason to continue the ban they obviously don't want to increase crowd numbers.2 points

One downside for the club by blocking fans on social media is they’ve no idea when meetings are on so it isolates those fans and they don’t attend2 points

Here is a positive for you Bagpuss,, the stadium is light years better than it used to be. And I will be coming back on our next visit.2 points

Yeah they all do on there Todd when they have the whole track to themselves but it's a different case when there are 3 others in with them.. but he did look fast & controlled tho2 points

Well done to the Stars - particularly impressive from Jorgensen. Replace Andersen and that team could be in the mix for fourth place. The mid meeting Witches collapse was disappointing but will happen away from home. Never looked like providing the winner of enough heats to challenge for a win. Cam and Jake were brilliant. Danny did OK but just didnt look quite quick enough. Everyone else just wasnt on the pace. Some hard fought decent races. Probably more entertaining than most meetings but not a classic. Good atmosphere - it was good to be back at compost corner2 points

Nicol was impressive. These American's aren't phased by the tight turns of Brough. To a lesser degree Aaron Fox and Max Ruml have looked decent in 'recent' ish season's and it looks like Becker has the hang of Wolverhampton already. At 4.00 assessed it makes you wonder why the Diamonds never look in that direction.2 points

Good as neither are of the standard required to do that - Buster totally messed up our team that looked so promising in the winter so he will have to be prepared to take the financial hit for his decisions when things go pear-shaped. As my parents always taught me - to every action there are consequences!2 points

True but it was the I.O.W. Which, if memory serves me right, is more akin to a larger Peterborough than a technical Brough Park.1 point

Sorry about that then (haven't read back through the 3 threads). It might be easier to quote the post about Tero than quoting a post about Theo so there is less chance of people getting confused.1 point

Peterborough surprising a few with 2 home wins now. Poole and Wolves may regret not taking advantage of such an understrength side later in the season.1 point

Shocking shocking management from Peter Adams. Wolves win toss and take 1 and 3. Howarth breaks tapes. He puts him in of 15! He is never going to pass Doyle or Ellis in Heat 1, they both go well at Wolves. Put Morris in, he can gate and might get amongst them.. plus gets some track time in before Heat 2. Is the rule also Howarth would start from 4 and the others move over? Not sure if they changed it a year or two back... if that is still the rule even more ludicrous decision.1 point

Agree 100% with the sentiments expressed, a brilliant nights racing from both teams. There were are number of "first timers" at Ashfield last night and the two families I spoke to as they left were enthralled with the night's entertainment and are returning for the next meeting. Speedway at its best. Best wishes to Jye Etheridge on a speedy recovery.1 point
