Rumours are the event sponsor has pulled out because their sponsor name had to be in white on the racejackets. Just a rumour.

I see once again our club are not encouraging families to come to speedway in Poole with there charges for children only the under fives are free considering most clubs give good discounts for under sixteen year olds in fact most are free !!!!

I wouldn't take to much notice of Daniel,he wants all the East Anglian clubs to fail. Anyone think this Stars team will deliver needs a reality check. Reserves abysmal and asking Kerr to deliver in the top 5 is a an ask. If Lambert has a bad day we're stuffed as proven. 1st meeting of the season or not, we've been shown up big time against the other weakest team in the league. Max Grosskreutz... favourite to win in 1936, but got injured and missed the qualifiers. He lent his bike to fellow Aussie Bluey Wilkinson, who raced to a 15-point-maximum at Wembley on his steed. Grosskreutz subsequently retired and became manager of Norwich. He raced the odd meeting for them, and made a brief comeback post-war.

I wouldn't take too much from Tungate's performance on Monday, which certainly want bad. He is not as good as Fricke or Bjerre but neither is Harris. Tungate was one of the most exciting riders to watch at the NSS. Give him a well prepared track with various racing lines and I'm sure he will soon win the fans round. He can sometimes struggle on small tracks, particularly Wolverhampton but my bet is that this season he will average about the same or better than Bomber.

Arne Pander is a prime candidate for this one! It should also be pointed out that it wasn't just the injuries, but also his decision to prioritise riding in Britain, which didn't go down well with the Danish authorities. Arne took out British citizenship and entered the British qualifying rounds in 1966, having missed out in a few key seasons in the meantime.

Interesting that Ipswich couldn't put a 1-7 together until Peterborough "released" a rider, with better gates at Foxhall you wouldn't want to start with a crap side, makes some sense to me.

A very fair and accurate response to my post. It would have been easy to reply wearing rose tinted glasses. The racing was far better in the Len Silver era, it was never the same when Crayford moved in there. The season as the London Lions were a disaster. £10 admission for poor viewing and a poor track. A sad end to a once great venue.

Why would this idea make people not go? If people don’t like the concept then just pretend it doesn’t exist and treat heat 14 as another nominated heat, go to enjoy the racing and don’t worry about it.

Would prefer the team managers to decide who goes out in 14 and 15 providing once the choice is made it cannot be changed.

I agree, why give fans more reasons not to go. Remember those ridiculous extra heats in the KOC a few years ago. I avoided those meetings like the plague. All of these gimmicks won't put many extra bums on the seats, if any.
