Russell looking to sell up ..get money for the club and not get the blame for when it closes down . He loves it when a plan comes together .4 points

I'm sure you will find it was for financial reasons the Rebels dropped from the Premier league. However I think the common view that Wednesday proved a far better choice of race night, only because it avoided the Friday M5 jams. So if you have a way to avoid the Friday traffic jams I'm sure the Hancocks would like to know!4 points

It should have been Stars/Panthers/Witches in one group then Buster could have started penning his press release about how proud he was having a team qualify for the final.3 points

The under 19 meeting was a great meeting. More BSPA meetings should be at Foxhall. Plenty enough room for the visiting fans and even half full wpuld generate a good atmosphere3 points

How about Chapman addressing Panthers fans , the very people he will be relying on for support , rather than just a staged managed press conference. I won't hold my breath though .3 points

Good evening last night with all the riders in attendance for the unveiling of our new Sponsors Touch Tec. There was a real buzz about the place and already seems great team spirit between the lads. Roll on April...3 points

Last season Rye House Lakeside and Eastbourne regularly had 150 and 250 pre meeting racing. With 2 of those clubs gone who will continue this vital experience for these young boys.2 points

But at least everyone will know where they stand. Pay up at the end of each meeting and a rider will turn up for the next (considering how easy it is to do via bank transfer these days). Should never be situations where riders ride for 9 meetings without getting paid. No pay, no ride but no risk of being banned.2 points

Apologies Leander. Took my own advice and read the article again. What you say is correctly quoted. The misunderstanding on my side is that Mason states he will be 27 in two years, getting too late to start over again. He will be 26 for the 2020 season so wrongly assumed he would have to miss two seasons. As you say, great shame he has been forced into this situation, again.2 points

It''s a pathetic idea, it might work for strictly come dancing where viewers have the comfort of a warm environment and a cosy armchair but sitting on a hard seat in a cold outdoor situation is a bit different who wants to be kept waiting an extra length of time just because someone has come up with a brain dead idea1 point

No mention that Chris Harris will be riding in it representing Somerset then , yet there are other ex Panthers named , Maybe Chapman thinks he will be too expensive.1 point

Has the date been confirmed for the British Under 21 Semi Final? It still says TBC on the SGB website. Good news though, the pairs has been announced for Friday 20th September. Thursday 19th September Swindon at home to Poole, Friday the pairs at the OTA and off to Cardiff on the Saturday. Fit in a few rounds of golf and that's my long weekend sorted.1 point

I think its pretty clear noone is confused in that regard, given that Greg Hancock hasn't made any lists but others such as Lucero, pyeatt and Alan Christian have? Unless you are implying mike bast would have filled all ten slots if this was a greatest riders list.1 point

Firstly I am of an age to remember when we had a team full of local riders. My mum first took me to Foxhall in 1976. Although I’ve been going to speedway for over 40 years I still remember the past but I don’t live in it. On here I read posts about how teams should be built and wonder if some posters know what is going on in speedway nowadays. On the positive side I believe the Witches will surprise a lot of you. I’ve compared the teams rider v rider and there is not a lot in it.1 point

Thanks to everyone who has replied so far. Does anyone know the best places to look out for the Wally Loak recordings? I too recall Colin Richardson winning his first race of the night in 1977 in 60.0 and this was greeted with a huge roar when the time was announced over the tannoy. I also remember the final race of the night which was effectively a title decider between Colin, Martin Yeates and Tom Owen. If my memory serves me correctly, Yeates made the best start and led for about a lap before Colin lined him up on the home straight and overtook him on the bend where the pits used to be. The race was effectively over then and nothing could stop him from winning the championship with a brilliant 15 point maximum. As a regular at Crayford, I was also lucky to see Colin Richardson break the track record there twice in 1977. The first of these was in June 77 and the second took place a month later. The track record was broken for a third time that year in August by the then current World Champion, Peter Collins who visited Crayford with his Belle Vue side in a Challenge Match. Happy Days! There is one on Good Friday, British Under 21 Semi Final. Back when it was announced we were returning reluctantly to the Championship it was always stated that we would remain on a Wednesday evenings and would be the only Championship team racing that night too.1 point

He’s averaged around 7.30 away the last two seasons so I don’t see that changing much, maybe drop to 7. He didn’t get on with Leicester as a home track and only averaged 6. I’d be surprised if he hit a home average of 10 like he did at the NSS last time and if things are really bad he could drop a point off that so he’ll end up about 8 overall. Hope I’m wrong though and the Ace Kenneth returns.1 point

I remember going to Scunny for the winter meeting and standing between the tapes and first bend wondering why nobody was standing by me. Heat 1 tapes up and 3 seconds later I could have auditioned for the black and white minstrels1 point

Polish Wikipedia with a couple of Pictures of the Stadion RKS Skra Warszawa And here is some info about the History of Speedway in Warsaw (in Polish language) of which google translated the following part relevant to Your inquiry: Warsaw was the host of the first post-war meeting on the Speedway. The opponent of our representation was Czechoslovakia, which at that time was a recognized company on the European tracks. The place of the competition was a 405-meter track "Budowlanych", still under construction. The date September 26, 1948 probably well stuck in the memory of all those who managed to get to the stadium at Wawelska Street. The first steps on the international arena turned out to be successful for Poles. Starting with: Smoczyk, Draga, Jankowski, Kołeczek, Krakowiak, Siekalski, Wąsikowski and Wrocławski, they made a huge sensation, winning 75 - 73 against a reputable international rival. Later the "Budowlanych" track has been the place of international competitions many times. We hosted in Warsaw teams from Sweden, Finland, Austria, the Netherlands and the then professors of the slag, or league teams of the Three Crowns, Monakerna, Getingarna, Indianerna, Kaparna. Monakerna, Getingarna, Indianerna, and Kaparna. The biggest match was undoubtedly played in October 1955 with the English team Belle Vue Manchester, in whose ranks competed the newly minted world champion Peter Craven. During these competitions, Włodzimierz Szwendrowski proved able to "get around" the proud sons of Albion. In a direct clash, he defeated the "wizard of balance", and this only a few weeks after he won the title of world champion. The Warsaw facility was visited by many other speedway aces, such as Nilsson, Pajari, Bishop, Kamper, Fundin, Plekhanov, Wright, Briggs, Moore, Knutsson.1 point
