Delighted to say I have now received my email from the club confirming buy 2019 season pass, credit to the club for putting together an offer to tempt the likes of me and from what I gather quite a few others.2 points

Good news is even if Ipswich get the wooden spoon we'll still have more trophies and less wooden spoons than kings lynn2 points

Nah, he'd have still been a wee schoolboy in Aussie at the time, don't think he's ever lived in Hull....1 point

I am only nudging this topic back to life because I have just come across a Speedway Star survey in their new year edition for 1997, a time of another speedway crisis. The survey results showed nothing has been done really to resolve the problems since then of speedway relying on the old brigade of fans to keep the sport going. Two decades ago, just as speedway was benefitting from new public awareness which SKY's coverage of Grand Prix gave, it is interesting to see the feedback of the questions the Star put to fans in the winter of 1996/97: Do you attend speedway less or more than you did five years ago? About the same (39%), more (27%), less (27%), and 6% didn't attend five years ago. Another question: How did you become interested in speedway? Taken by family (62%), recommended by friends (30%). Just eight per cent were attracted by advertising etc. Sixty-four per cent of people said they had introduced new fans in the last two years (1994-96). More than 54% had taken along two-to-four new people. The report revealed that once new fans had been introduced, 80% had become occasional or regular attendees. The main worry was the level of new supporters during the last five years of the survey being compiled? I wonder how that survey would compare to one now. Remember, we have had the good fortune of wall-to-wall live domestic matches over two decades since. How much has that luxury helped or hindered the sport over here?1 point

Great! Any particular shade of yellow? Hi-Viz yellow perhaps, or a gentler shade of dandelion? Lemon Yellow maybe? Take your pick, which would you prefer? I dare anone to tell the difference between Banana Yellow and White on a wet muddy day after a few heats of use.1 point

Crumpy talks sence but maybe a bit lacking personality in the way he says it. Sounding like he is lying back in an armchair with a cold tin in his hand. Almost asleep.1 point

It also gives piss poor and perennial 3.5 point journeymen , the opportunity to take to social media with 5-6 point tallies, claiming they have had some sort of revelation and are the new Tai Woffinden . The reality of course is they have taken the extra points from raw beginners , won't stop their nearest and dearest and one or two hangers on ,from blowing an 1800's style London "pea souper" up their arses though . neither will it stop the pitiful excuses when some of the raw beginniers start to find their feet and beat them !1 point

No problem. Note that the Halifax v Birmingham match, shown as 9-9, should read 9-8.1 point

Tbf not a good advert for Australian solo speedway, really, and Crump and Williams are dull commentators. There is zero excitement coming over. Give me Pearson & Tatum anytime1 point

Who knows, but the powers that be advise riders not to ride on unlicensed tracks. I guess it's down to the individual if they take that advice. I have been to several meetings at Lydd over the years, and it is an excellent set up down there, but without the finances to bring it up to SCB standard. Rye is a different kettle of fish. They have fallen foul of the authorities and are paying the price. Whether this stand off will ever be resolved is another matter.1 point

If barker has some decent equipment underneath him he's gonna score big at reserve expect him to be a 6pt at end of season1 point

I fully accept that teams have to meet the requirements of the league but removing all mention of the club Websites strikes me as counter productive to promoting the sport. I do not have a problem with some heading saying that the team have not yet completed all the formalities of moving up from the National league.1 point

Not only do any news items on the BSPA website have the disclaimer but it is not possible to get to the club website as Eastbourne and Birmingham don't exist according to the list of teams in the league. If I was of a suspicious nature I would be thinking that someone wanted to sabotage their entries and if I was in charge at either club I would tell the BSPA that either the links are restored or I would be moving back to the National League which might ruffle a few feathers that need ruffling big time. The fact that both teams who moved from Championship to Premiership appeared immediately makes you wonder how they got accepted so quickly! Does the BSPA want to make Speedway grow or are they determined to ruin the sport?1 point

The revised conversions agreed are a mess and a sham and a continuation of the same old balls up we see year in year out1 point

All the team are still owed for 9 meetings and hearing from someone who knows it doesn’t sound like they will be paid anything.the bspa won’t pay them anything and said if they want paying they have to take BMR to court for it. My opinion Rye house should not be allowed to run speedway at any level(even practise days and make money ) until there debts have been settled. It is a complete joke. good look to all the owed riders for 2019.1 point
-
The bond I think may only cover debts to riders at what is regarded as 'standard rates' Concensus seems to be the Rye deals were far from standard It may well be that the riders therefore consider they are still owed for the 9 meetings even if the standard rate has been paid out Just speculation on my part - I have no information or evidence as proof and no knowledge as to whether any payment has been made1 point

It's really complex but basically to hold competitions off road events have to be exempt from the road traffic acts/regulations. This can only be achieved if the events are run under the regulations of a recognised organisation with the appropriate affiliations, the link below may help a little. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/1995/1371/made1 point

A little under Kurtz level Overall a fantastic season for Lambo. Started on 7.38, finished on 9.31..... 2nd only to JD. He is entitled to an off night.. Your No 1 had plenty, Kurtz 8.08... finished 6.75.... Less than a point off of a reserve slot for Poole I know what someone gonna say "He wasn't really a No1" Neither was Lambo. Kurtz started on 8.08 to Lambo's 7.381 point
