No real need for third party moderation... It should just be self moderating by the 'normal' people on here.. If trolls take over a thread then no one quote their posts or rise up and reply to them.. Keyboard warriors are often socially inept misfits, whose only recognition of their own pitiful very existence comes via responses gleaned on forums full of people they will never meet. With them getting some kind of kicks to offset their often shallow soulless, friendless lives... There are only a few prats on here anyway so not difficult to pin point them, even if a 'multi', as they always use the same M.O. So after a few posts of a 'newbie' it is self evident who they really are/have been.. Don't give them the oxygen of acknowledgement and they will soon get really peed off as the debates carry on around them... Really. Really. Peed off I would imagine...4 points

Nor at Ipswich to start with either. Came back considerably overweight and struggled. Compare that to the previous year when he shared a workshop and gym facilities with Scott nicholls and he was a different rider. He has huge potential but needs to put the effort in off the track to get the rewards. We are told he in training so hopefully the penny has dropped. Always remember joe screeen claiming every march he was the fittest he has even been when in reality it was the fattest4 points

It seems as if a few threads have been taken over (more than is normally the case) by contributirs whose sole aim is to wind-up and throw personal abuse around. Its become ridiculous. Are you going to take some decisive action??2 points

Agree. If Heeps is serious, maybe he could use Buster to get those fitness guys Lynn used last season. Would do him the world of good.2 points

You have a report facility on each post. If you don't like something that has been said you can always report it. No good moaning about the mods if you don't use the report facility they have given you.2 points

I used to like the forum, good clean banter and some very good posts and opinions .Isn't that what a forum should be about, not all this bad mouthing nonsense.2 points

It wasn't racist. The tweet wasn't a good one and suggesting let them drown was ill thought out at best, basically in poor taste. However, racist it was not. It's this constant playing of the race card that caused Brexit and Trump.. you'd think some folk would learn.2 points

This must be one of the few forums I use where mods are just non-existent, not even under the radar, just nowhere to be found. Considering the way the forum used to be 10 years ago it's crazy.2 points

A random thought I had the other night was if I was a serious promoter with a business brain would I consider purchasing a track/franchise and by-pass the British league and instead enter a team in the Polish League? The BSPA wouldn't like it or probably do their best to block it but would the benefits be for the long term good of the sport in this country? Think about it. Sunday fixtures, Television exposure and having quality riders at every meeting providing the paying public value for money. There would be the logistical problem to deal with but what about striking up a commercial partnership with a low budget airline like Wizz. Probably a crap idea but I must admit if I was a speedway enthusiast with a business brain and a few grand to invest I would be looking at the option.1 point

No because you have not piped up on the forum for a long while that was great news.My advice to you is respond to people you feel comfortable with and it won't be me so move on.1 point

There would need to be a common will from the Poles who seem to 'rule the roost' and they would have to obviously get something out of it for it to ever happen but maybe not as far fetched as first considered...? It would certainly raise the bar of the sport considerably over here and give the sport a 'European Competition' feel about it.. Maybe one team from the UK, Denmark and Sweden could be included? Added to the top five from Poland.. Seven home and away matches... What it possibly would provide, if ran that way, is teams made up of nationals from their own countries which would maybe get better 'local' support as their regional Speedway team take on the might of the best in Europe. And a bigger continental TV audience potential to entice coverage... Rugby League do it already with French and Canadian clubs so not a complete leap into the unknown.. Would be a huge gamble though for someone to bankroll it should permission from Poland ever be granted.. It would generate reasonable interest thought I am sure, whether enough to pay the eye watering salaries, or garner enough sponsorship to assist those costs is very debatable. (But a large European and Domestic audience, if delivered, would help this) You would need a major marketing company to push the sport initially too. Especially given the lack of awareness and interest in Speedway currently in the UK. But maybe with the World Champ as No1 for a British team it would help sell the product over here? Seven well advertised, well promoted, home matches maybe could deliver crowds of 5000 or so paying circa £20 a head? The issue though is the obvious one in that around three top heat leaders alone after paying the home and away salaries would receive all that money and more.. A nice idea though, and who knows, if Poland ever need to spice up its operations to maintain its status, maybe it could happen in the future? After all, ten years ago the thought of a French team winning the RL Challenge Cup at Wembley would have been laughed at, but probably not nearly as much as someone suggesting at the same time that Canada would one day have its own Rugby League team playing in Britain...1 point

Correct. Not only the pressure, but when you move from No 4 to No 1 you go from Heat 14 to Heat 13... that alone will have a hit on your average.1 point

Thinking about it, it may depend who they want to pair with Becker. Rory would be the most logical I guess as he is more of a team rider and will give him more help, meaning Jacob can take his preferred no 4 slot with Nick at 31 point

I would add BV to that list if Bewley rediscovers his pre injury form. Fricke looks to be in great form and Lidsey looks to be a real bargain on 4 points and Bjerre should thrive back at the NSS I think Kyle prefers to ride at 2 so I would put him there. I loved watching Jacob and Rory race together in 2017 so I would be tempted to pair them together again, as Morris is more than capable of riding at 51 point

This is a google translation of http://www.polskizuzel.pl/pzm-oglasza-konkurs-dzika-karte-nice-1-lz/ In connection with the non-receipt of a license by Stal Rzeszów, the Presidium of the General Board of PZM decided to launch a competition for a wild card for starts at Nice 1.LŻ. Applications will be accepted by January 11 via email. The correspondence about the detailed conditions of the wild card competition has already come to the clubs. It is to be resolved on January 15.1 point

Every season it seems to be a make or break for Heeps to finally fulfill his undoubted talent everyone seems to think he has. Can only see our team being bargain basement junk, so it would be a fantastic time for that talent to finally be realised. Come on Cam, show those Foxhall faithful what you really have1 point

Nothing daft about it. Racism is a business. When business is becoming slow, new ways are found to ensure it's continued existence. Gullible folks like you are the perfect promotional vehicles and boy has it been successful. The tweet was in very poor taste. Simply state that and pretty much everyone would agree with you. Instead you try and convert it into something else and create a split.1 point

Think he had a tough season throughout Europe last season so he can only be better this season. Starting off lower down the order should see him improve by half a point at least I reckon. Wolves have had a fair few testimonials over the last 10 years and I agree loyalty is a rare breed these days. I like the look of this team. Robins are real dark horses to me too. In fairness the Oz championships prove nothing as Tungate has been champion. Lidsey will be great to watch next year I reckon,1 point

The real Cameron Heeps should have the beating of most other reserves at Foxhall at least, and him and Allen will probably be our top improvers during the season. Even more so if Cameron can finally find some gating skills. A few hours with Donk could do some good.1 point

If the above is our selected team, then you can forget it. We would struggle to win either home or away.. I cant help thinking that the Managers and Promoters have dropped a massive clanger here. It appears that, while other teams have been busy assembling decent squads the Stars have been twiddling their thumbs believing they've got the job covered. Now looking at the other teams, we are struggling.... If they cant find a decent 2nd heat leader we face the prospect of being a Wooden Spoon challengers, and that not very appealing.1 point

Bydgoszcz would be the obvious candidate, the track hosted the SWC less than 5 years ago ( what a night it was). Stadium is in desperate need of investment & TLC. But a great track, with great history.1 point

Well thats a flawed theory for NKI, on his 7.6ish average he is a far more attractive signing tham his 9.00 reassessed GP rider average would be after the 18/05.1 point

Past experience shows it only makes him worse. He actually thrives on people saying that because instead of directing their ire at him, his victims are the ones blamed... just as he planned. His most recent sick post has been removed I see. We can only hope he is once again on an enforced holiday from the forum.1 point

There is no semantic argument. His tweet was not racist. In very poor taste yes. Racist no. I have not made any defence of the wording used in his tweet. His stance as regards immigration is a different issue.1 point

How low can one be?? An opportunity to just keep quiet but no, you have to stick the nail in further. With that reply, it's very clear what you're implying. You are a very sad individual.1 point

Personally, I think there's enough of the 70's and 80's yet to cover that there is no need to stretch the timeline. Whilst most of the big name riders have been covered, often its the (relatively) lesser lights who have the more interesting stories to tell. For example, the recent Tony Lomas interview was fascinating, particularly his memories of Charles Ochiltree.1 point

Please don't knock this initiative folks it's not that long ago that Plymouth didn't have a Speedway Team and of course it's an even shorter period since it's continuation was threatened. Whatever it takes to secure the sport for Plymouth and it's lovely supporters has to be welcomed and embraced. Well done this is an opportunity to be taken and made the most of, which all the other clubs at death's door would welcome.1 point

Can't comment on perks and extras but as far as I know for the last 3 seasons all riders 1-7 have all been on the same £20 per point.1 point

No, Travel Plus and Tee Mill Tours were two totally separate companies. Travel Plus is owned by James Easter of course, whilst TeeMill was owned by Reg Thomas and Steve Millard.... Went on a few trips with TeeMill, one after they helped me overcome a last minute cancellation of a TravelPlus trip to a World Longtrack Final . TeeMill trips were always good fun, usually with the late Dave "Flash" Roberts as courier, along with the also late Dave Rattenberry in attendance. Also usually present was a lovely guy called Ken Carpenter , who was the photographer for the now defunct Speedway Mail.1 point
