So you don't believe in protecting sovereign borders then. The tens of thousands living in poverty and homeless people living on the streets would all love a better life, how about sorting that out first...4 points

I don't post a great deal these days but must admit I'm on the verge of giving up on the forum, I come on here to hear about speedway not the rubbish posted on just about every thread now. Probably get abuse for posting this.3 points

You can neither follow the argument nor contribute to it constructively. I suspect that if we were talking about half-wits you might have a degree of expertise.3 points

Point of order Whether you agree with the comment or not the basis was not race and therefore not racist It was about illegal immigration not the race of those attempting it3 points

Yet more tripe from the worst forum poster who calls people ‘handicapped’ and compares someone to an undatables TV programme (about people with special needs and handicaps). Some people really do think it’s ok to mock the handicapped and think it’s a joke to call people handicapped. Some people really do have a sick sense of humour. However it’s a Wolves thread and we all know he loves to troll me and Wolves threads. Another thread ruined by the worst forum abuser not that I’m surprised by the multi aliased one.3 points

That’s brexit for you. They don’t want any fuzzy wuzzies coming in. But having said that, they have no right to come here. They came into Slovenia visa free, headed across Europe where could have asked for asylum in any of those countries, purchased or stole a dingy and engine in France then headed across the channel. Should we take them? Hell no.3 points

You would think! Although Skidder did his best to get it on track. I think the migrants issue would be best on general discussions!3 points

I havent read past quotes but if Fred has been been mocking the dissabled that is a step too far and totally unacceptable. I have a disabled daughter who has cerebral palsy. So Fred having a laugh and a joke is one thing but if you or anyone else want to behave in such a manner you should go and crawl back in the hole where you came from. From this moment onwards why cant people on here have a civilised and honest discussions about speedway , have the banter , yes , but keep personal insults to themselves.2 points

I would just like to jump in ahead of Doug and say that a comment like that does seem strange coming from a person who has caused a number of issues on here because of that very fact. Who can forget his attempts to turn the BSF into the BFTF? Steve PS If you don't remember the discussions, please don't ask; it is a l-o-n-g story!2 points

Yes absolutely correct... I put this forward and other suggestions to up the NL image and get us closer to our sponsors. On the Island we held really good live draws for our meetings, be that in the crowd, with a sponsor or even on the spikes of an ice bike. However, I always seek the advice of Andy Hague who knows his stuff for this type of thing... even if I have a wacky idea, he knows how to make that idea get presented in the best way. While at the time, we may think what we are doing is the best thing ever (and to us it is of courese), using the opinion of someone like Andy enables me to cover off the viewers, our sponsors and our leagues perspective - as in this is what Andy thinks about in everything he does for the club. He wants the Wightlink Warriors always to be seen at its very best within our budget... which is of course in line with Martin and my thinking.2 points

There is usually a 'get out clause' both ways should either damage the 'brand' of the other by their actions... If the money is paid up front then the sponsored organisation doesn't lose out, but if it's drip fed then potentially they will.. Of course, what will happen either way will be litigation as the business being sponsored will argue they have budgeted or even spent the expected income, and the sponsor, if not happy they have been removed with a legitimate reason, will fight to get a proportion of the money back... If the Echo did try and contact MF, and no response was forthcoming, then it would suggest he is not prolonging the story (which any response would do) and sensibly letting it ride out with no more direct linkage to Poole Speedway.. Hardly a 'story' anyway really is it? I presume not much happens on the South Coast in the winter if this makes the local news agenda? April is a long way off and this will be quickly forgotten by then if allowed to disappear as a 'story' now..2 points

" Has that feel of a rider that will not progress and stagnate "? ... To who ...You ? With all due respect, Max Fricke is 22 to state he's going to 'stagnate' is a ridiculous comment .2 points

Saw this and assumed someone had confused January 1st with April 1st. But now I'm starting to think it's not a joke and it actually is for real. I've always thought that Plymouth Devils was a decent enough nickname, but if it wanted a change it could draw on the City's history for inspiration (being the place the Pilgrim Fathers departed from, it's association with Francis Drake, the home of Europe's biggest naval base, etc etc). With all of these options, "Gladiators" seems a bit naff. And worse still "Plymouth Colosseum"??? Really? Plymouth Speedway is a nice little place, but that's what it is... a nice little set-up on a school's playing field. Not quite the Colosseum. And can I query the spelling in the press release. It says "coliseum". Surely if they're portraying themselves as gladiators then they mean the "Colosseum" in Rome? As far as I know Gladiators fought at the Colosseum.... the "coliseum" is a theatre in Oldham where you're more likely to see Christopher Biggins in panto dressed as a dame. p.s. Will Ben Wilson change his name to Ben Hur?2 points

There is little or no moderation and the lunatics have largely taken over. The sensible members get shouted down or abused. It seems standard for this country at present. People shouting at each other. Anyway, Happy New Year Bruno, enjoy your speedway in ‘19.1 point

Ive mentioned before but it seems everyone has put fingers in ears and gone lalalalala Kasper Andersen did not attain an average in either league and remains on an assessed figure He therefore cannot (unless regulations have been altered) double up and has already been named by Sheffield.....1 point

Sad to read of his passing - loved watching the Czech riders of the late 60s/early 70s Remember travelling to Rochdale and Ipswich for test matches - great entertainment1 point

It serves no purpose to retain the secrecy of the team had it been completed, so my thinking is along the lines that some positions are still to be finalise. I think also there could be concerned, that compared with the strength of those that have been announced, they have had to make some changes from their original thinking..... It was also in my thoughts that Niels was not in their proposed plans, whether it be he not wanting to ride or Lynn wanting to save on his signing fee, but suddenly the powers realise he is desperately needed if Lynn are to have any hope of being competitive. This is putting a whole new emphasis on the necessity of team make-up. My thinking may be completely wrong, but I see no reason why they should keep the team plans a secret, if they had been completed.....1 point

It most certainly should be but then pretty much every team thread gets derailed somewhere. It’s just the nature of this forum. I actually really rate this Poole team. It’s full of potential and whether it’s been done on a budget or not is immaterial because they’ve still managed a quality outfit. Not to derail or compare but it looks like the bv team to me. Both have stacks of potential and I think that is the way to win a league. Imo these 2 teams are the benchmark no matter how unpopular that opinion may be.1 point

Off the back of wildcard picks, where the formula for that choice has certainly been questionable over the years. Anyway, it’s all about nothing. Enjoy the season.1 point

I’m not defensive at all and it has nothing to do with Max riding for BV. You are choosing to ignore what is in front of you. Facts. Averages. International form. Progress in the GP qualifiers. It’s all there for you to see. For whatever reason you think he will stop progressing and you have rightly been called out now by a number of posters because that is just an utterly stupid logic.1 point

The qualification meeting at Gillman was held today - scorechart https://sportowefakty.wp.pl/zuzel/relacja/94912/kwalifikacje-do-im-australii-w-gillman and the 8 riders who made it through to the final 5 round series starting tomorrow are Ryan Douglas, Jordan Stewart, Justin Sedgmen, Kye Thomson, Todd Kurtz, Nick Morris, Zach Cook and Ben Cook1 point

Anything that helps the speedway is good. Things need to change and that’s what they have done. Good on them for trying something new1 point

I think it has something to do with former gladiator cobra ( Steve Luxton) who owns cobra garage mahal. So so I think this a change in names much like a sponsorship. I believe as a Plymouth fan it is a good move we have made huge strides forward since some promoters under the devils name who put the devils name in bad lights especially around the Plymouth area. more money better contacts threw Steve And a fresh era in a fresh year makes sense. I agree had it been a random rebranding without linking it to cobra and the gladiators then something linking it with the city would have been good. I’d have also liked the colourway to involve green like most of the other sporting teams in Plymouth. overall I’m happy with the change.1 point

For those who volunteer, or those who provide a service that puts speedway on at Berwick, I have no trouble at all with them getting free or reduced entry. Its those who either used to provide a service, no longer do and think they have a right to free entry, or the wives and families of those who provide a service on a Saturday night there is a problem. True its the choice of the club but there are times when it seems the clubs generosity it being taken a lend of.1 point

Im guessing we have one of the old school Poole fans back one who changes his name every other month, dear oh dear1 point

Not many will rate Eastbourne as contenders for the playoffs , but Wood and Brennen generally had the beating of anyone at Arlington last season in the NL including Kemp and Mountain, add in the fact that a lot of riders in the championship won't have had any experience of the tight turns of Arlington , can't see them losing at home next season especially with a top end that ride Arlington well. Away will be Eagles of old but win all at home, pick up an odd point or two away and you certainly should get to the playoffs, probably not win them, but top 4 a definite possibility.1 point

I agree, one heck of a shame and one hell of an amazing achievement by Tim. You could probably make a short play/drama about one man's dream and what he achieved, when you consider the challenges and adversity. Remember the film 'Field of Dreams'?1 point
