  1. From the man who made stupid comments to someone months ago and when an insult was "thrown back" at him, got the bloke banned and whined for days about it. Maybe when someone asks a civil question, give your honest answer and just leave it as that. No need to insult someone for asking a question.

  2. If I had a business in would not want to be associated with comments like that..there are numerous major issues with this country..6 people on a boat is not one of them...why doesn't he just say shoot a few homeless people as well..disgraceful comments in my opinion and not something that would sit easy with me if I had to deal with them professionally.

  12. Happy New Year to all Lynn fans, new and old (and lapsed). My NY resolution is to try not to post negatively, but I will continue to comment on things I think are wrong or could be improved. I may not attend any more but that doesn't mean my 50 odd years of being a Lynn fan have disappeared, I still care. Who knows what the future might hold...you may see me on the terraces again

  13. I believe i am only discussing a difference of opinion, not rubbishing anyone. That's my opinion anyway. Happy New Year to you too. Lets hope there are further improvements at King's Lynn speedway and speedway as a whole and we can then agree on a few more things in the new season. Happy new year to all speedway fans, yes even Shovlar.Let the rivalry begin again in a few months

  14. And Bruce Penhall didn't win the 1985 world final, Erik Gunderson did. And Penhall's Wembley World final win wasn't 48 years after Jack Milne won. It was 44 years. Milne won in 1937 not 1933. As I remember it, the 1970 Wembley promoter was Trevor Redmond, not Trevor Readman. And I'm guessing "Brain" Leonard may have been the more intelligent brother of a chap called Brian. Very poor and outdated website riddled with errors.

  22. I must be ruddy mad to take the bait. You have jumped from accusing me of making up sports to now falling back on Sport England as a guide. They are a reasonable pointer on the range of sports in England. But to directly quote the site you have linked to: "The sports councils do not decide what is and what is not a sport. There are many different opinions as to what constitutes a sporting activity and the sports councils do not have their own definition of sport. " The activities I have mentioned all exist, if not in your mind, then you will find google a useful tool. I mention these as extreme examples to try and encourage you to tell us where the line should be drawn for SPOTY. Help us all extract some clarity from the fog in your mind. So, far there is no line forthcoming. Nine pages in, I think it's safe to say we are not going to see one. So, for the third and final time, are you big enough to admit that you were wrong in accusing me of making things up?

  23. His gating is too inconsistent which isn’t a problem at the NSS. His performance at King’s Lynn show this as when gating last year he scored an incredible 16 but without his gating gloves only 6 in think it was. His missing the start at the NSS provided us with two of the greatest races ever seen but unfortunately away tracks refuse to give him the stage to strut his stuff. Great shame. Even PC would struggle to entertain on away current tracks.

  25. Disagree that Fricke is ahead of Masters ‘by the proverbial mile’. Masters is 8.11 and Fricke 8.20 in the top flight UK. Fricke is probably a bit ahead in Europe I’d agree but there pretty much similar standard here, As the averages suggest is a pretty reasonable thought process.

  26. The way things are going he'll have points money as an Ipswich rider.
    1 point
  27. Which is factually incorrect. In a number of ways. He is already ahead of masters by the preverbial mile. He’s also ahead of Jack and about on par with Brady. If you have a look through some averages and their respective international standing you will get all the info you need. Essentially that entire post is based on a hunch, which renders it completely irrelevant.

  28. Winter time, and time to carry on with my little history of the Lokstedt track The planned meeting for the 9th October was cancelled due to the rain sticking around. In fact 2 days later the weather wasn't much better and only 3,500 turned up.The weather must have had some effect, but also the fact that they had kept the price of entry at the level when Sprouts Elder was racing, even though he was no longer present With Elder gone,Lees was unchallenged again as the best rider around the Lokstedt track and won the A rider final easily In the new Hamburger 'Wheel' event the races were held over 2 laps and favoured the good starters.Drews and Bill Kellner won the qualifying heats and with another good start in the final,Kellner won fairly comfortably from Stölting,Heck and Drews and had 5 pts towards the title The next meeting was a big improvement on the previous on,even though the high prices remained, there was at least the appearance of the Preston team from England as an attraction!!The meeting started with what seems a new idea of the riders parading around the track on their bikes. The Danes, led by Niels Sorensen, then the English with Lees and Burrill leading them, then last but not least the germans led by Niss. Drews, listed as being from Danzig had a challenge against the Count Strachwitz which he won.The Counts style of riding the track wide was stated as being a constant problem for him and wondered if he might learn something from watching the Preston team.Lees won his A Final from Ham Burrill and Jack Chiswell. There was a great race between Burrill and his team mate Claude Rye until Rye's bike packed up.In the other final Joe Abbott, who was the best Preston rider on show, won with his exciting style ahead of Frank Chiswell,Len Myerscough wh were well ahead of the others(Sorensen,Drews and Kellner). The main handicap final of the night turned out to be a disappointment as the awaited meeting between Lees and Abbott ended just as it was warming up.The two riders were battling it out, when Abbott got a puncture before the first lap had ended.Despite that,Lees couldn't make up the 2 second advantage held by Sorensen and so had to settle for 2nd

  29. I don't think Max will make the grade on the World stage. I think he'll fall behind both Brady Kurtz and Jack Holder. Can't put my finger on it but I just think Fricke just has that little bit of magic missing from his locker. Put him in the same bracket as Sam Masters

  30. Ah, welcome back. Happy New Year. Before you sidle back into the debate, will you now be able to answer my question. You made a lengthy post stating that I was making up sports, effectively lying. That's incorrect and has proven to be so. So, I'll try again, are you going to redact that and admit your mistake and apologise? Are you big enough to admit that? Or will you just sit back in the shadows hoping it just goes away? Let's see.

  32. Saw this and assumed someone had confused January 1st with April 1st. But now I'm starting to think it's not a joke and it actually is for real. I've always thought that Plymouth Devils was a decent enough nickname, but if it wanted a change it could draw on the City's history for inspiration (being the place the Pilgrim Fathers departed from, it's association with Francis Drake, the home of Europe's biggest naval base, etc etc). With all of these options, "Gladiators" seems a bit naff. And worse still "Plymouth Colosseum"??? Really? Plymouth Speedway is a nice little place, but that's what it is... a nice little set-up on a school's playing field. Not quite the Colosseum. And can I query the spelling in the press release. It says "coliseum". Surely if they're portraying themselves as gladiators then they mean the "Colosseum" in Rome? As far as I know Gladiators fought at the Colosseum.... the "coliseum" is a theatre in Oldham where you're more likely to see Christopher Biggins in panto dressed as a dame. p.s. Will Ben Wilson change his name to Ben Hur?

  34. Front page and page 3 of the New Year's Day local Echo, stressing its a personal view and nothing to do with his company?!. Towards the end of the 'story' (slow news day!!) its mentioned about his company being a Pirates' sponsor. Attempts made to contact MF for comment but unable to.!

  37. Chris may well have made a well deserved return from his riding days but I would doubt any 'pot of gold' built up would be sufficient to guarantee the tens of thousands per season required to bankroll the speedway club

  38. As do you !! Putting a couple of emojis at the end of a sarcastic reply doesn't disguise its intentions. I had given up ever having a discussion with you because of your continue disrespect for anyone who voices opinions against the Stars. It becomes a pointless exercise when you only see in one direction. All your feelings towards the Kings Lynn Stars I have felt them all. Once upon a time they were more important to me than the Lord himself. My life was governed by the exploits of this same club. During this time, I travelled to every venue in the league and never missed a single match for more years than I care to remember. As years started to add up , the family was getting older, I realised there was more to life and reduced the amount of time and money the sport then occupied . Instead of having my head in the clouds I began to see the sport for what it was , and I enjoyed this more believable existence. The pure ingrediencies of this sport is watching 4 riders on fast machine with no brakes, competing for glory. Witnessing Robert Lambert defying the laws of balance has become an immense pleasure. So I find it insulting, for posters such as yourself, to ridicule my views. In those 54 years of following the Stars , I have seen the Good, the Bad and the Ugly many times. but the one thing I find hard to accept is the continue contempt shown to the fans. We should be the bread and butter of every club, but nobody appear to understand that... Hence, the reasons why I feel the way I do..

  41. We have been purchased simply to keep the number of clubs up so the premiership didn’t collapse. If it had collapsed the financial implications from the bt deal would be severe. Its cheaperto use Ipswich as a sacrifice to keep the league running for a further year before it implodes again. Peterborough are not working to the same budget as Ipswich.

  42. The idea of the showing the draw was a good one, however the unprofessional approach has ruined it. It is slightly concerning that Jason Pipe believed that it was acceptable for the product they are trying to produce. It may be a step in the right direction but it was a seriously poor attempt at something which should be not difficult to produce.
    1 point
  43. I think people have to bear in mind thst the principle was spot on and that even though sat in Jason’s kitchen looked unprofessional, the idea was there. Other years we’ve seen a NLKOC ‘draw’ where all teams local to each other have raced each other whereas now we know it’s totally transparent. Just the presentation needs sprucing up. But even the big sports get it wrong! Look at the football Carabao/League Cup draw where teams were drawn the wrong way round and teams drawn twice!

  44. Well I tend to differ,I think that witches will have a top level number1 signed and by news years day everyone will be full of confedence for the 2019 season ,first 2 signings look great so get behind ya team as positives are always better than negetives ,happy team and fans is a fast one that holds the cup at season end!

  45. Why is a question a stupid comment? Can't hold a civilised debate can you? Would you like it in words of 2 syllables or less so you understand it? Grade A moron, go straight to the top of the class. Jeez, even Floyd could actually give reasons in his comments, not just spit the dummy because of a perfectly legitimate question asked.

  46. Yeah it was a bit amateurish and a bit cheap, BUT it was a genuine draw and we had full disclosure. A big step in the right direction. If the BSPA are going to do similar things more often, hopefully they find fit to start unblocking the many people they have blocked over the years many if not most simply for asking a question. Myself, I got blocked after they denied saying there was ever a live feed planned for the u19s. I screenshotted their tweet from 2 weeks earlier as a reply and got myself blocked lol.

  48. Completely agree though sometimes the clubs that do that are their own worst enemies. As soon as BMR took over at Rye when Len Silver was more or less hounded out by the supporters. I was castigated at the time for being unhappy. But why on earth would a club like Rye House move out of the division where they had a reasonable amount of success to a league offering fewer meetings and moving from a weekend race night to midweek. Yes they were lured there by TV exposure for their brand but completely disregarded their fans base and the negativity shown over Wednesday night racing. The demise of Rye House was down to the Owners guiding the club not the BSPA

  49. Very interested to hear from a fan who actually knows something about Robert Ledwith. I know little about him so I found your comments interesting. Lots of criticism has been expounded because he is in his 40's ( I have NO problem with that) and now I know a little about what sort of rider he is/was, I am keen to see him in action.

  50. The truth is that NOBODY on here knows. We don’t know to what extent their business relation is. The deal with Peterborough could be totally different from the deal he has with Ipswich. We know Louis has insisted on certain clauses and has a buy back option, we haven’t heard of anything similar with Peterborough. One Lynn fan told us on here not to expect any rider announcements this side of Christmas, it’s the Buster way. And yet Peterborough have just announced two and we’re looking to reveal the full 7 before Christmas! Nobody knows exactly what details are involved with this so called “commercial” deal.
