  2. I actually applaud what Ford is doing he is running a tight ship and in the climate we are in it is the right thing to do.The side is not my cup of tea but if Holder/ Kurtz step up they could challenge also it will be worth watching those two riders develope as we all know they have exciting potential.

  3. This made for a really hard read. For any of us that had the pleasure of watching Tomasz at the peak of his career, it must come as a huge shock to find he is still suffering so badly. I can't imagine the pain and frustration he must be feeling, and the possible prospect that things may never improve much, must be awful for him. It is so sad that several of the sports greatest riders have paid such a terrible price to entertain us, although I believe the injuries to Tomasz and Leigh Adams were not actually on a speedway track, but it matters little in the grand scheme of things. I must also mention Darcy Ward, probably one of the most naturally talented young riders we have seen for many years, he too had his career cut tragically short in a split second. I must admit I was truly shocked to read about Tomasz's condition, I pray that things will improve for him and all those other riders who have suffered such appalling injuries whilst entertaining us all.

  5. At this time of festive cheer, I would to wish you all a very merry Christmas and thank you for your support of the Wightlink Warriors and Wizards. It means the world to Martin and I the feedback across the forum on the Warriors and Wizards. It is all very useful for us as we slowly develop our product further and within budget. So thank you, whether you are a season ticket holder, member of staff or someone who just looks in from a distance. Thanks. Have a great Christmas with those you love, and I look forward to seeing you, hearing from you or pondering your thoughts on here in the future. All the best Barry (and Martin)

  6. I still think there is more to come from Brady sometimes with riders it takes certain thing's to click into place. The consistency is the thing with Brady at times i have seen him win races and look awesome then another race look off the pace.Jack stepped up last year and for me he will become an in/out number 1 the thing that worries me a tad is Poole as a home track.I believe for Jack to show his best the Poole track has to be consistently better that is no swipe at Poole because Swindon at times has been poor and has gone from being one of the best tracks in the Country to one of the worse.Holder is just in behind the level of Lambert,Smektala,Drabik,Fricke but he will get there in Poland he has showed his class at times.

  7. Need a bit more than one nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more squire, post. I'd heard the same but that's as far as it goes during the silly season. Always thought that it would have been good for the Balfe Motorsport Team to have an ownership dabble in the world of shark infested custard. It'd be good publicity in theory!

  8. Get it right. My post on the Poole thread said he knew virtually all the teams line-ups. If you can't read it properly you are simply proving your first statement above to be correct. Still not long to wait til the New Year for the Witches announcements.......(according to twitter)

  9. of the riders announced Wolves.........look the strongest home team and should pick up useful points on their travels. Swindon......if their tail end can hold their own or better still see a small improvement then they will be there or thereabouts K/Lynn........as has been said their team should resemble most of last season, so should be in the top 4 B Vue..........doubts about Dans fitness stop me from placing them above Swindon, plus Jaimon, reports are good, we shall have to wait and see. P/Bora.........they too look strong on paper, but how many of their 2019 riders look good enough to improve their starting average????? Poole...........After their usual changes mid/late season, they will move up the ladder. Ipswich........Only because we don't yet know their team, hopefully they will be able to be competitive.

  10. Quite correct - but it didn't stop other clubs from making him an offer!! Its amazing all the different ways that people can communicate in this day and age?!

  11. It really depends on which home club it is and who they are against- If you wanted to watch Lublin at home i would suggest that all their matches will sell out. Leszno and Czestochowa for instances although well supported are big stadiums and almost certainly would not sell out. Friday matches might not be so popular as Sunday`s however. With the clubs ticket sales appearing to be more friendly to us foreigners these days !! i think i would buy before i went- most i think are "E" tickets(print at home) and presumably with most of the stadiums seating you can choose where to sit.

  12. If Matt knows the Ipswich 1-7 can he please send one of his famous texts to Chris and let him in on it

  13. Surely as a Poole asset and the fact that Poole intended using him, he didn't have permission to speak to any other clubs!

  14. Merry Christmas to Comets fans everywhere. A Happy speedway New Year too - it will be difficult to top last year, but I am sure our new septet will give it their best shot.

  15. Merry Xmas and a great Speedway New Year to all Newcastle Speedway fans. We know the team now, and all could be winners, so looking forward to a tasty season with a sprinkling of success. Roll on the last week in March. A new team, which will freshen things up, could surprise a lot of people.

  17. It is, but we have to remember it’s only harmless fun to generate a bit of off season chatter. We (Ipswich) were the paper champions of the Championship, we have a trophy cabinet full of them as we were the best team “on paper” virtually every season we were down there. Unfortunately we never actually won ONE trophy made out of actual Silver

  18. He is now a employee of buster. He will do his best with the budget that buster has set. I believe he was wholly frustrated at the agm as he had listened to the fans who wanted more fixtures and regular weekly racing. And then when that was ignored he thought how can I run my business with just 15 paydays. And he simply had enough. Just my opinion. I would like to thank Chris and John for all they have done for the club. All good things must end. And we have had a great 30 years under their control

  19. Agree 100% Every time the 'big league' gets in trouble, they lure clubs who were running successfully 'up' and put them to the sword.

  22. Honestly... If Glasgow went up into the Premiership and persuaded (money talks) one big rider like Emil Sayfutdinov, Artem Laguta, Patryk Dudek, Bartosz Zmarzlik, Maciej Janowski etc... to come ride in the uk... And have them love it (hopefully) it might paint a more positive picture of British speedway... Especially with the likes of Doyle still in the league... Sitting in the second tier winning every year won't be doing much... Birmingham in the NL was getting a bit bad... I'm glad they moved up... Onto bigger things as a club... If these big names like it, at least they might persuade their u-21 countrymen to come over here... Young foreign talents are always exciting to watch... Pawel Przedpelski would have been great in this country if he was persuaded to stay after his pile up... Riding difficult uk track would be a massive step in their careers and I'm surprised more don't do it...
