I’m confused, you previously said Morris was signed when clearly he wasn’t. How do you know who the remaining 5 riders are. Yes we can assume Adam & Zach are 2 based on them being asset & the club like using our own. The other 3 is just guess work. Some of your previous guess work include Craig Cook as number 1. A swap deal for Lambert & Doyle...can you see why what you say doesn’t get taken seriously.6 points

I am not certain why that requires the NL points limit to be set at such a low level. There are few fans of runaway doubling up, but in the case of a young rider using the Championship for experience and the NL for confidence there is likely to be much less objection - as far as I am concerned that is what doubling up is for, not so that riders can make more money from the sport. I'd point out that Sheffield - with a BSPA committee member in charge - prefer to use an Australian and an American than a British youngster, so any suggestion that this for the good of British Speedway and its future prospects is compromised at best. The other thing is that the Championship has a notorious record of dumping young British riders when they don't score points (to be fair, that has been less prevalent more recently). Thrown out of the Championship because of poor scoring and unable to ride in the NL because of their average, they'd be frozen out completely. Jack Smith has already been told he has no place at Belle Vue. Its been stated that Ryan Kinsley and Drew Kemp won't be at Mildenhall, and with their averages they will be lucky to get in anywhere else. That's three promising young riders who, effectively, have been denied places in our development league. Bloody ridiculous I think the worst of it, though, is that it is entirely possible that this isn't the work of the NL clubs themselves (Last season there was a serious attempt to get the points limit to 40 or even 42, so I fail to appreciate why this year they would want 36). Desperate to make their product attractive enough so that they can pull in attendances to meet their expenses, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they had been forced to accept a situation that stands every chance of making their precarious existence all the more difficult by unnamed outsiders - because you can bet your bottom dollar that no-one will take responsibility for this - with absolutely no stake in the NL whatsoever4 points

just the financial penalty from the Poles if he gets injured in UK!! Having said that, he hasn't been returning any calls from Wolves!!3 points

Think it will be Troy so going to be interesting who the last few signings are because we can’t make the same mistake as last season with weak reserves.3 points

With rumours of unpaid riders that go through speedway, I’d say it’s the riders who take financial risks too.3 points

Let’s get back on topic guys... Leicester have seemingly realised that no-one likes their name suggestions and saved it by saying the poll was a semi-final and there’ll be 4 more options to choose from! Surely Cubs and Hunters will be included.3 points

As Ive stated on various other threads We all know what the real intention of the reg is - to assist British riders It just needs the correct composition in order to exclude those that did indded start in the 3rd tier but whos status would not now meet the entry qualification Anyone calling for the reduction to apply to the Aussie in their side is just perpetuating the self interest and manipulation that is at the core of the sports issues3 points

That's the issue.Think I counted 23 riders on over an 8 average in the NL.Well over half will miss out of getting more experience from this level.Teams are going to be left with riders on a 5 point average who have been in the league for years as a 3rd heat leader.Hardly the way to bring people though the turnstiles.I want to see the likes of Smith who are progressing rather than riders who have stayed the same level for years. The NL is going to be a poorer product next season that's for sure3 points

The lack of information is a major worry. If I’d just bought a new club I’d be engaging with my customers and trying to whip up some enthusiasm for the coming season. We are seemingly just a pawn on a chessboard waiting to be sacrificed so the king up the road can keep playing on.3 points

Of course he hasn't, but he doesn't treat fans of clubs the correct way. If these fans walk away he'll financially be in the cow poop. Peterborough and Ipswich fans may flock to the first couple of meetings but if things ain't as the fans like they'll be no more. It's how it is, Speedway needs to start delivering on Value For Money.2 points

Did you actually read the statement ??? “We have six riders who have agreed to ride for us, and we are just awaiting confirmation on the seventh. Only when we have all seven in place will we begin announcing names, as if you start making things public before contracts are signed, that’s when you can hit problems.''2 points

Don’t despair, be realistic; speedway riders have averages regardless of their age and fairness is particularly important for team-building.2 points
-
And now we have someone suggesting that 2 16 year olds with no real experience are picked out for handicapping in their first season in the CL! I despair2 points
-
With sensible agreed points money For all three divisions & then strictly adhered to of course, all teams will know their outgoings - riders would know their earning potential & all things would be a lot more transparent in Speedway (La La) Land!2 points

There was nothing wrong with the league the way it was, it was doing its job producing some great racing to watch and producing a good number of riders good enougth to move up to the championship league. It was also giving the paying public value for money with a mix of riders good enough to produce some quality speedway racing and the chance to watch youngsters improve over the season a perfect mix to get me to part with my money.I have bought a season ticket every year for the Colts but next year I will not be doing so I will go to a few meetings and then form an opinion if the product on show is good enough for me to part with my money. My worries are. The Colts have already lost Smith and Perry next year who produced some quality/great racing round the NSS who is going to do this next year. I don't know but say we keep Bickley as our number 1 we might see some great races against the opposing teams number 1 but in his other races there is a good chance that he will be riding on his own well in front of the other riders in the race, this I have no interest in watching.(Will others ?.) The more talented youngsters improve very fast (Bewley,Kemp etc) and at some stage in the year to improve further need to ride against better riders there wont be many of them around to do this. The way it is now a rider that ends the season with a high average is a good indication that he is ready to be given a chance in the Champ league.Next season will this be the case a rider that ends up with a high average will he be good enough/ready to be given a chance as this average will have been achived by racing against less talented riders. We may lose a good few talented riders who cant or are not quite ready to get a Champ league place but who's average is to high to get a team place in the Nat league Some of the riders that get a Champ league place spot may still need to race Nat league to help them improve further and keep their confidence up if they are finding it hard in the Champ league. My biggest worry is yes the National league is a development league but for people to pay their money(for some teams its not much less than the higher leagues) and turn up you have to give them a product that will give them value for money and entertain them ie good speedway racing. For me the product next year from seasons past looks like its going to be a lot poorer than previous seasons. As I say I will give it a try but if I am disappointed I am lucky I can just go back to just watching the Aces. But to me these changes could cause the sport to lose even more supporters when to me the product was fine and needed no changes what so ever. I have a few other reasons going round in my head but the above reasons above should get my point of view across.but to me its just another worry for the future of the sport I love.2 points

What is the need for doubling up to be removed now with Monday and Thursdays being used in the PL and no teams racing in the Championship on a Thursday? Surely the only problem before was riders missing matches. Now that won't be a problem, surely more meetings for riders meaning they could afford to take less of a wage per match can only be good for teams and more riders being available can only be good for teams. It's such an ill thought out idea YET AGAIN from the BSPA!2 points

The British Youth Championships have got as much as anything to do with the increase in quality of riders coming through, year on year it seems that more good young riders are getting into the system. Hopefully those in charge can see this and give it all the support they can. Meeting against other countries are an excellent idea, the more experience they can get of different environments the better.2 points

So a rider we dumped the world champ for and showed more passion riding for the enemy than he did for his own team last season, doesn't want to come back after dropping 2 points off his average. Good riddance I say and I never thought I would be saying that after heat 13 at Wolves in 2017.2 points

When you begin losing the urge to keep up with the rules, you tend to gradually lose interest. I recall one time at Belle Vue, stood on the terraces, about 2004 when this guy next to me asked when a Golden Double could be deployed in the match or something like that. I was stuck. Me, a fan of 30-odd years, couldn't keep track of what was going on with the continuous tinkerings at the AGMs. Reading the forums now about converting averages of certain riders, the same. You can just lose the will to keep up with things. The racing can be brilliant, but you have to keep track and have the appetite to keep up with the rules. If a rule is good in the first place, why change it?2 points

Flamin' Nora, you've got a speedway team in existence to support, and you moan about nicknames. Yes i'm a Hawk and Hammer no more. Enjoy your live Speedway.2 points

Absolutely, disappointed that Nick wants a year away especially with his average being low but I agree, No point in keeping someone who wants away. You will have a decent signing for the season on that average assuming it’s Wolves he’s off too.1 point

This silence is deafening!! We, as a club, are used to so much interaction on social media in the close season, as well as the season itself, from Henry, Chris and Ritchie. Shell shocked and no information just isn't witches way.1 point

In fact I dont think Flint is even 16 yet - therefore what other realistic starting assessed average could he possibly be given than the basic 2 This is all because it doesnt suit your club I am absolutely sure had Kemp and or Flint signed for Somerset this would not have been your stance1 point

You're the one with the issue and it's your sick mind that has tried to connect two perfectly innocent comments and turn them into something they quite clearly are not.1 point

Good racing depends upon a good track which is well prepared with sufficient racers between the two teams. it has absolutely nothing to do with which league it is. I get tired of supporters who say I only watch the top league where the best riders are. Having watched Speedway for over 50 years, I now firstly select the track and then the opposition....admittedly it means I no longer go to some tracks as they have shown themselves to be poor quality on the entertainment stakes.1 point

Apart from always preferring 2nd division racing I couldn’t agree with you more. Watching louis loram Norris standing and Howe and then Tacey lanham And nicholls blossom was fantastic. I was so looking forward to seeing drew do the same. Prospects like him come along so rarely and we have tossed it all away to prop up the top league. I’ve no enthusiasm whatsoever1 point

I find it hard to believe that costs at Championship level would be such a surprise to the promotion at this late stage1 point

I almost wish I was a Tigers fan just to see Drews first full season I hope it wont be too long before we see him as a Witch again Im sure Danny will be fit unless its totally out of his control. There are few with the professional approach he has at league level1 point
-
So we now put down our calculators and the Tigers class of 2109 has been named. And I have to say that I very impressed as to what the team that the promotion has chosen, and i am confident that we have a team that has the potential to bring on some silverware for next season. Danny King should be if he is fully over his injury problems ( he assure's he is) be a very solid number 1 in this league. Kyle Howarth is a far better rider than his average and should be more than capable of improving on his starting average. Ty Proctor again should be able to make improvements, our main problem with Ty is keeping him fit. Kasper Andersen, for me one of the aces in the pack, we saw enough of him last season to suggest that on 5.20 he is a steal of an average, and I would not mind betting that if he had not signed for Sheffield there would have been a host of clubs ready to fit him in their teams. Broc Nichol show some promise last season, with a full season ahead of him should move forward plenty of experience within the Sheffield pits to give him some advice. Zaine Kennedy, bit of a unknown quantity, but again he has plenty of experience in the pits to help him along. Drew Kemp. a rider that due to change in points limit I think every club in Championship when Ipswich announce that they were moving up a league would have put into their side given what he has already achieved and done in his short career. Personally I am really looking forward to watching him develop over the season. Roll on April.1 point

Are Scorpion fans really bothered about the NSS? No, we are more concerned about winning at the EWR and that's what Josh, Jake ,Jason and Stefan will do. The remainder of the team can just improve their averages for me.1 point

Your point is? Somerset already had 6 riders then lost their top rider leaving them down to 5 and having to run with 1 rider in one race Kurtz replacements got 7 and Holders 4. yet Poole scrapped through Belle Vue got decimated. Kings Lynn lost their second best rider and a free scoring reserve, Poole then should have not used Morris simple Yes the record books show Poole won..............still struggling to find Pooles injuries you mention.......but they wouldnt if Somerset or Kings Lynn had fit teams.................or if the sports top brass did the right thing and stopped Morris riding1 point
